1  Race Room Experience / RRE Races / Re: RRE Season 4 (2017) Race Room DTM - Nuerburgring - Apr 23 on: April 23, 2017, 11:38:27 PM +0100
God, that was fun! Grin I really only had pace for third or fourth but keeping it pointed in the right direction throughout worked out the be a winning strategy.  Wink

Luckily, the clock ran out just as spanner got back on my tail because he'd kept the pressure on throughout the race (even while 8+ seconds back after spinning) and surely had the pace to breeze past me had there been another lap or two.

Thanks for a lovely if hectic first SROUK race, folks!
3  UKPnG / UKPnG Races / Re: UKPnG Season 10 1960's GT Cup - Rouen - May 21 on: May 23, 2015, 07:13:16 PM +0100
Just curious:
If Rouen, which is some peoples' fave track is "dull" what tracks would be interesting?.
I like to know these things so I can plan future events.
I think Rouen could be satisfying while fighting for position but, other than the leadup to the hairpin, it's a series of long straight>turn>long straight combinations that don't add up to a satisfying rhythm for me. That same overall feel is why Road America is my least favorite of the popular american tracks. On the other hand, I like the old Sebring, Daytona, and Silverstone layouts that are similarly laid out except that they string together some good sets of turns and tend to carry more speed through their self-contained corners.

For the overpowered gripless GTs used in these rounds, I think Kyalami and Spa were good choices that I wish I could have run. Otherwise, I think Riverside, old Road Atlanta, Mid Ohio, Oulton, and the tracks EvilClive mentioned are satisfying for anything with more power than grip.

Dana, please don't worry about being less than perfect around us guys, if you had seen my first few PnG race last year you would know what I mean  Undecided.
You would not believe how badly wrong some of us can be in the heat of battle  Roll Eyes. We know that drivers do not deliberately throw themselves into the armco ( well I have my doubts about one or two individuals, but I'm saying nothing!). Just join in and have some fun.  Grin
Oh, I'll certainly put in more online practice and stick around next time! Yesterday's race was a car I kinda hate on a dull track so once my setup and driving weren't clicking online, I knew there was no joy to be had. I'll be back and better prepared next week, though!

Shame Dana dropped, we could have some fun at the tail end  Sad

Only of your idea of fun is watching me careen off into a barrier.  Embarrassed I was running decent mid-pack laptimes in offline practice but just couldn't get the car to behave once I joined the server and decided to sit this one out rather than wreck myself and potentially others.

I'm new to the forum and I just want to clear up whether I'm free to dive into the UKGTL and UKPNG races or whether there's a registration page I'm overlooking. I see that all the races I'm interested in are listed as open series but then there's text in the rules about full time and reserve drivers so I thought it best to ask the dumb question before stepping on any toes.

That said, hi I'm Dana! I'm a 27 year old american woman with simracing interests that center primarily on 1965-80 historical series so the 1974 IMSA events are right up my alley and I'm eager to (hopefully) see you folks on the track at Daytona.
