And that was gearbox nr 2    Cry

I forgot I had the car in gear so around the 20 second mark before the race I started hearing this grinding and screeching noise from the car. So I started the race with a dark yellow gearbox staring at me everytime I shifted. Had a few nice chases/fights but the gearbox just got worse and worse no matter how careful I shifted. So around halfway coming out of La Source I shifted in 3rd and that was that. Guess my porka has an Honda engine in it or something  Grin

What an amazing race that was.

Had some good pace during quali so I was feeling quite confident, but then I had to go and jump the start by a few tenths. Thought my race was done for and a potential loss of the championship. So I went for the drive through a lap later hoping to come back in front of the last few. Came out 7th so I guessed a few had abit of a tussle the first few laps. After that I just put my foot down and tried to get back to the front as fast as possible. I was completely in the zone as I was just putting down good lap after lap. Managed to pass a few up into 4th quickly ( thought I saw you limping quite slowly nfsw ). Saw that the front 3 were having a close fight so I was gaining about a second a lap. With a few great battles and some luck I managed to get back in front with my rear tyres pretty worn out. Still, even managed to snatch the purple lap from Simon  Grin

So all in all a pretty much perfect race for me  Cool

Shame you missed the race Alexey
18  UKAC / UKAC Races / Re: UKAC Season 9 Porsche 962 - Laguna Seca - Mar 21 on: March 22, 2018, 11:39:23 AM +0000
Very sloppy race for me. Start was good and managed to keep up with a struggling Felix. Bout halfway through he made a little mistake which allowed me past. A lap later I passed a few lapped cars and saw the gap was already 3 seconds so I thought I could take if a little more easy. Of course right at that time I hit that fat sausage kerb on the inside of that fast lefthander and went wide. I hoped to be back out before the backmarkers but as soon as I hit the tarmac I spun around. Chased after fmg after that but my gearbox was taking a beating and now everytime I shifted I saw it getting redder and redder. So with about 10 minutes left it blew up and that was my race.  Grin

There is a good app called ‘camber extravaganza’ on RD, it gives you live camber readings that are colour coded. I took a little less camber off last night and improved by a few tenths.

Brilliant, I was always wondering if there was an app for that.
^This!! I've never been able to read the telemetry apps while driving so I'll give this app a go aswell.

PS; loving the combo. Kinda like a mad rollercoaster ride where the slightest mistake will send you into the gravel.  Cool

Still an enjoyable race even though I'm not a fan of this track. Especially with ballast in this car it is horrible at the hairpin fest. Kept behind Jeffrey the entire race and since its difficult to overtake here I just settled with getting on his nerves with some late braking  Cool

Less ballast for the next race is a plus though. Should be an exciting 2 races with Felix right on my tail for the championship.

Might have to miss the race this evening. Probably won't be back in time unfortunely.
22  UKAC / UKAC Races / Re: UKAC Season 7 599xx - Barcelona - Feb 28 on: March 01, 2018, 11:45:32 AM +0000
I went for hards aswell and it wasn't too bad, but the difference in grip near the end wasn't really noticeable until the last few laps.

The race went pretty good except the start. At T1 I thought too brake abit early and see what happens but I saw nsfw closing in fast in my rear view mirror so I eased of the brakes abit. Ofcourse I completely missed the corner and lost 3 places as the cold hards were pretty low on grip. After that I chased Felix and Nsfw for the rest of the race, pretty even in pace. At one point they had a little tussle in the hairpin so I managed to squeeze in between them. Got close to attacking Nsfw the last few laps as my tyres had better grip at the end but he kept it nice on the defense. Probably not going to go for the hards anymore  Grin
23  UKAC / UKAC Races / Re: UKAC Season 9 Porsche 962 - Kyalami - Feb 21 on: February 21, 2018, 08:58:42 PM +0000
Well that was disappointingly short. Was stoked for the race as the pace was pretty even up front and with a pretty big grid. Right at T1 I saw one car in front wobble lightly so I though to sneak up on the outside of T2 and see if I can't get into his inside for T3. Went a little bit wide but as soon as I hit the grass I just understeered into the wall at a pretty low angle so I probably should've bounced abit against it but as soon as I hit it the car just completely stopped like I hit a brick wall straight on.. ( haven't saved the replay so it could be I just didn't see it all that well ). Sorry for however got caught up behind me, I think it was Massimo.
Car was completely wrecked from there on so no use continuing.

Such a bummer  Cry

Sweet. Driving in the dark in the rain with AC physics is gonna be insane  Tongue

I was looking at the site at around 3 minutes after the announcement came out; database error. Guess to many people wanted to know at the same time  Grin

26  UKAC / UKAC Races / Re: UKAC Season 7 599xx - Road Atlanta - Feb 14 on: February 15, 2018, 06:50:18 PM +0000
Not the best of races for me.

Probably should have done some more practise as the track was all new for me.
Start went okay with me just taking it easy, didn't expect Mark to squeeze by from the inside  Tongue
After that I was chasing Simon for a few laps.
I got a fairly easy pass on Felix (I think) early on when he ran wide onto the S/F straight and then seemed to let me by easy rather than make me work for T1.
That was me and I just clipped the grass there and was feeling lucky I managed to keep in on the track so I was in no position to defend there  Grin

After that I was chasing fmg around for a few laps but the extra ballast made quite a difference on the long straight. Halfway through I started making a few mistakes and crashed twice in the last corner ( definitely need more practise on that sneaky blind corner ). Car was pretty mangled up after that second crash with some slight suspension damage. Saw Felix closing in fast and almost managed to keep him behind if it wasn't for that pesky last corner  Grin

After that I noticed Maikel going at a quite slow pace and I gained about 1 second a lap on him. But still once I got close it was difficult to pass. So we got to the last lap and I knew I had nothing else to throw at him to force the pass. But then in the last corner of the last lap (you gotta feel sorry for him) he went wide and I got the final 6th place.

That was uhmm.... all part of the masterplan to lose alot of ballast for the next race.......  Cool

Try it with some extra 100 kg   Cool

I didn't really notice much about the extra ballast in Imola but here the car is terrible to drive on race fuel. Fun track but time to lose some ballast for me I guess  Grin

I filmed you while you were practicing:

Haha, it certainly felt like that  Tongue

One of my favourit tracks and in this combo it's insane. First sector is holding on for dear life  Shocked.

29  UKAC / UKAC Races / Re: UKAC Season 9 Porsche 962 - Silverstone - Feb 7 on: February 08, 2018, 11:54:37 AM +0000
Well that went better then expected actually.

Qualified 4th and knew I probably couldnt keep up with the first few. Noticed I was standing on the outside for T1 while 5 and 6 were standing on my inside. Had a bad start with too much wheelspin so my hopes for a podium were going down fast. But at t1 everyone was taking the inside lin very easy and slow so I could just drive around to out side to p3  Grin

I could kinda keep up with a battling Matteo and Felix and they went 2 wide in the last corner at one point so I tried to make a sneaky move at t1 to pass both of them. Would've been great if it worked but Felix saw it coming and defended it nicely. After that I couldn't keep uo with Matteo and had fmg breathing down my neck. Though last 10 minutes or so the car finally clicked and I started doing some good laps. Still happy with a 3rd here.  Grin
30  UKAC / UKAC Races / Re: UKAC Season 7 599xx - Imola - Jan 31 on: February 01, 2018, 11:40:18 AM +0000
That went pretty good. Found the car still enjoyable and good to drive even with the ballast. Pushed hard the first few laps to where I had abit of a gap to Baikal so I thought to take it abit easier, but then I saw him doing fast laps so I had go keep the pace to the max. Then in the later half I saw Simon hitting purple and tried to get it back but couldn't anymore  Grin

Next up Road Atlanta where I've never driven before  Cool
