So, now we have timed races in multilayer,  can we do some timed multiclass endurance races with pitstops please?? My suggestion is,

Mixed class: Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and Porsche Cayman GT4 Cup (Possibly include Maserati GT4 and Lotus 2-11 GT4 to mix it up even more)
Rounds: 4 x 1 hour events.
Circuits: Spa, The Ring, Silverstone, Monza (open to discussion)
Rules: Each driver must drive two rounds in the GT4 car and two rounds in the GT3 Cup car. Driver to choose which car for each round.
Pitstops: Yes (Multiple if possible to set)

What we think, could be fun using these cars as we seem to all like them. Running multiclass as well could be fun especially when the aliens will have to do two rounds in the GT4 cars. Could be some close racing but also a tight championship.

I'll probably be mr negative again, but this doesn't sound good in my opinion.

I think you should only do multiclass racing when the grid is 30+, or else you will end up with few to battle with and boring races.

When I think of multiclass racing, i think of prototypes and GT cars, not GT4 and Cup cars. I'd rather see 919 and GT3 field, or maybe 962 with some old car of that era.

1 Hour race isn't endurace, atleats 1,5 hours I think.

Picking a car for a track won't work, as there is a big chance everybody will pick the same class for a track, which will end up being single class racing, or very lobsided. If your direct competition picks a different class for each event, you can have very boring races.

I will second this.

multiclass only works with a large grid and balanced class sizes.

my biggest issue with this proposal though is, that the gt3 cup and gt4 cars are barely different in pace, so there is no real reason to run those classes.

gt3 class and gt4 class would even be too similar. Im all for multiclass (PGT anyone? wink wink) but would prefer larger pace differences between the classes... prototypes and gt or something

why oh why had kunos changed this car?? it was perfect the way it was, no need to screw with it whatsoever -.-

havent driven the new thing yet but losing time in slower corners and gaining time in faster corners just already sounds like they broke the car.
33  UKAC / UKAC Races / Re: UKAC Season 2 Porsche Cup - Imola - Feb 15 on: February 14, 2017, 10:50:10 AM +0000

I'm stuck in late 47's no matter what setup I use or attack angles I try - have hit a proverbial pace wall  Sad

i havent done any laps yet as i wont make it to the race anyways but i reckon you may be too gentle on the curbs.
For instance you can gain a hell of a lot of time in T1 by placing your left tyres just between the three curbstones. You cut a lot of the corner like that while still staying within the white lines and can carry way more speed through the corner.
34  UKAC / UKAC / Re: UKAC Porsche Cup Series 2017 - Jan 11th start on: February 11, 2017, 09:35:47 PM +0000
i am completely happy with lowered damage.. in the end we are here for racing, not parking your car because of a contact with a wall or something.

you will be punished by losing huge amounts of time during the incident anyways, no need to find yourself 1-3 seconds off pace and with no chance of get in any battle again.
people would be more likely to quit after contact, instead of keeping the car on track and fight their way up. (no chance i couldve been competitive at hockenheim with the major incident in Lap 1 and 2.. i wouldve been forced to quit and be highly frustrated)

please leave 50% for future races/series, its a great compromise
35  UKAC / UKAC Races / Re: UKAC Season 2 Porsche Cup - Imola - Feb 15 on: February 10, 2017, 04:27:43 PM +0000
I expect a few spinners on this round, the kerbs really like to unsettle these cars yet you have to attack them aggressively for better times. Looking forward to this one.

the reason why i hate imola.. you can lose so much time when not attacking the curbs, but you always risk losing control :/

i might not make this race anyways, unfortunately... Sad

Mark, this is going to be a fun battle with you Cheesy

btw, the season got officially extended with VIR and Bathurst, am i right? so its 3 more races to gain points?

In Nf's defence I didn't see a warning message about his ping either and as he states, there were no problems with warping later on as was able to race very close/side by side without issue.
I think we need to say for all future races to watch the pings whilst sat on the start grid. I'm afraid if it leaps that high for anyone you will have to start from the pit lane behind the pack. Otherwise it's not fair to those around you on grid.
Not much we can do if it happens in race. I was wiped out by Denis' sudden ping increase at the Nurburgring round, sh*t happens, as they say  Tongue

Despite the ping causing chaos, it sounds like most of us had another excellent round of close racing so that's a positive  Smiley

I was a bit miffed to see 7 non attendees last night.  Sad hopefully it was just a busy week for those missing.  Undecided

well, i think its a different story if ping suddenly spikes high but was stable for the laps before, or if you already start with ping at 350+

its displayed on your screen and its easy to check if something is wrong with your connection.

as you said, everyone should check their connection at the start and start from pits if the internet connection makes a safe start impossible.
38  UKAC / UKAC Races / Re: UKAC Season 2 Porsche Cup - Hockenheim - Feb 8 on: February 09, 2017, 09:39:41 AM +0000
What a weird race for me that was..

I screwed up my quali entirely, as i crashed on my outlap, lost a lot of time due to that and then couldnt get up to pace.. i couldve nailed a good lap on the very last second but lost my car in the last corner as i asked for too much.

anyways, started i P6 i think, not a bad result for how bad my quali went.

I had a good start, making up a spot in T1, and then carnage happened.. during the race i had no idea what had happened whatsoever, from looking at the replay i now know, internet got messed us all up.
I was pretty confused and turned on the chatbox to see if we would go for a restart, as i saw huge number of cars had been involved. Nothing in that regard so i thought i just muscled my way through the field and enjoy the action.. Remembered my Spielberg race, where Maikel caused me to loose quite a lot of places early on but i still had a blast and overtook quite a few people.
So i drove on, had some great moments overtaking my pal Sam Jordan (Samwell), only to then get shot off in L2 into the Hairpin... at this point i was super close to ragequitting as it looked like there were some public server crashkids on the server. I just saw a blue car flying into me in my mirrors and had no time to react... well, from looking at the replay i knew it was caused by Alexey completely missing his brake point and shooting off Picnic.

I stayed in the server and from then on i had a great race, with a lot of overtakes and somehow managed to end up in P7, only a position down on my Quali position, so i cant complain, looking at how much bullshit happened. At one point i couldve made up 3 positions in one corner, overtaking Sam, Michael and another car, but i stepped on the grass when braking for the next corner and Michael touched me ever so slightly to make my job of catching the slide impossible Cheesy (no bad feelings here at all, as my move was way too ballsy and i smh knew it would not end up well).

Anyways i have to question two things happened in this race:

1) We all see in Alexeys POV video how Sam Jordan notifies NSFW about his super high ping.. we are not talking about 150 or so but 350-400 !!
At this point i have to ask how you could be so ruthless and start, carelessly risking connection bs to happen ?
And not even you started and indeed caused a major incident, but went on racing closely and fought your way up... its a bit weak to ruin the race of 5-10 people and then race on with a shitty internet connection only to end up on a podium.

you internet was not stable and you shouldve parked your car, especially after the mayhem you caused

2) Alexey, i do not understand how you could miss your braking point so much... going into a hairpin like this with a lot of cars in front of you, there is no need to be super aggressive on the brakes, as you cant take max speed through the corner anyways. and instead of risking a crash (because people tend to brake earlier than usual in these situations) you shouldve just chilled a bit and easy off early.

i know you didnt shoot picnic off on purpose or anything, but braking so aggressively in such a situation, where you have nothing to gain, is just carelessly taking a risk of ruining others races and i dont want to see moves like that in league racing. that is public server stuff right there and not what we are all here for.
and i dont want to point my finger at you and say you are a bad driver or anything, because you clearly are not, but i have a feeling you should just calm down in some situations, as i know from the spielberg race, you tried to go for every gap i potentially let open. And at silverstone you also shut down a gap on someone else. All these are racing incidents but you would be less likely to screw up if you just calm down and ease off at some situations.

now this all sounded super negative when in reality i still had a lot of fun yesterday, maybe especially because i got thrown back so much and had to fight my way up again.
really looking forward to the next 3 races Smiley

cheers guys, nice racing

I have a silly question. Where do I put the skinpack in.

put all the skinfolders into gamefolder/content/cars/ks_porsche_gt3_cup_2017/skins

Just found out that the next season ( starting march 5th ) on sunday racing over at Core is going to be the Porsche Supercup aswell. Right after we finish it up here  Grin

would love to join that but sunday races are already occupied :/ damn it

*looks at Mark*
*whispers* "do another season"
42  UKAC / UKAC Races / Re: UKAC Season 2 Porsche Cup - Hockenheim - Feb 8 on: February 03, 2017, 11:44:01 AM +0000
The "old" version has proven itself in the past, IMO it's a bit late to gamble on an untested version.
i second this.. neither of those mods is perfect and just because one has a bit more bumps doesnt justify risking bs happen because of some undetected flaws

but i havent raced on any of those tracks, even tho i did some laps offline on one of them. but i dont know which version i had and which one is supposed to be the "new" one :/

... but must say I had some excellent racing along the way  Cool it's a great racing series  Smiley

*wink wink*

I disagree actually, I think it's pretty easy to navigate around this site, mainly because it's a bit boring and functional compared to most racing sites  Grin
When I go on acrl etc I get properly lost trying to find race threads/passwords  etc.
Core have a fairly nice site, nice layout etc I just don't like the cars they choose for racing.

Anyway you will be pleased to know that the Porsche series standings link now appears at the foot of each new Race thread 1st post  angel

yeah, CORE are top notch in that regard.. i have the same problem as you do tho, they just dont run series i am interested in.

and the ACRL page isnt user friendly as well Cheesy so not really a benchmark here haha

The thing is, while this website is highly functional, you kinda get thrown all the information at you at once and its overwhelming for newcomers. Especially as you run on multiple platforms, it is even more of a challenge to make things nice and tidy.
To me it was super confusing when visitin the website the first times in summer, to even find the community navigation page, to find the AC section. The "Start here" landing page doesnt really help you out at first glance.

If i may give an easy solution to that:
You could just have links to each subcommunity (each game) on the landing page, people can click on and get redirected to the specific section only.

--> I visit Simracing.org.uk and see the landing page with the Names of all the Games you are hosting, i click on AC as this is the game i am interested in and then get directed to UKAC

45  UKAC / UKAC / Re: UKAC Porsche Cup Series 2017 - Jan 11th start on: February 02, 2017, 09:11:13 AM +0000
it's actually not hard.

while this may make sense to all of you who have been here for ages, it really is incredibly difficult to figure this website out for newcomers.

what is the "code" used for btw? i mean, what do you need this simple code for.. if its just an abbreviation for every user to navigate to the specific series, it might be worth a rethinking, making it more obvious what this specific link links to.
If its just for you admins, it might be worth to hide it smh or create a "standings" button or what not.

When it comes to user friendliness, you have to think of your "customers" as the most stupid morons possible Cheesy

just some feedback from my side
