Thanks for the race, we'll pretend the rolling start really was 80kph and not 120  angel

Happy to stay on the track for 30mins - I think if the cars were running fixed setups & ballast it would've been much closer.

Laus has some evil corners. With the 2020 DTM cars I haven't yet completed more than two consecutive laps without binning it.

Congrats on the win, Frex, and Markus for the Championship!

Couldn't make any inroads into the gap to Alix though until a few laps before the end when he was clearly trying to save fuel. Unlucky.

You give me too much credit - during the last few laps I was in panic mode; I could barely drive the thing whilst watching the fuel numbers tick to zero, confused why I had under-fuelled the car. When I checked my setup after the race the estimator thingy said 14.8 laps - which turned out to be depressingly accurate. Tire wear wasn't as bad as I was expecting, I think they would've scraped another 3-4 laps.

Anyway - thanks for the great races, everyone, I hope to do some more.

Not sure about the tyre model on this car, the initial temps were 10+ degrees higher on the left side and I had to check I wasn't driving an oval car or something  Huh.

It's the same story with the '92 Mercedes - the left side tires are glowing hot while the right side don't even break a sweat. That's just Zandvoort  Smiley  it has three turns that absolutely torture the rubber and very few left-handers. Even if you drive conservatively (no tire squealing) the left side temps remain nuclear.

Here's a preview of Silverstone.

On reading the race reports I'd prefer the results to be adjusted and have Frex recorded as the winner.

After a trademark awful start I settled into third, but coming around the end of the first lap I followed Geoff wide into the sand. I think he wisely backed off the throttle while his tires cleaned up. I didn't, and so entered a sickeningly drawn out slide into the barriers. Thankfully I didn't wreck anyone.

By the time I got back on track everyone was out of sight so I just set out to salvage what I could. I tried being extra-gentle through the right-handers and squealing through the left-handers but mainly I just pushed. By the final laps my tires were three red and one orange and I was in third, stuck between Markus and Geoff. I was convinced one of my tires was going to explode, and every weird noise the car made (the '95 makes a lot of weird noises) sent a chill down my spine.

Don't know what happened at the end  Huh - but the race was 'interesting'  Smiley

Interested to know how the new guys, Glenn, Birger, Alix & Peter got to hear about us.

It was your thread at the Sector 3 forums.

BUGGER!

Sorry I missed his one - I'd convinced myself it was this Sunday   Angry

Anyway I've made a note of the dates so hopefully I'll be in the rest of the races.

Well that was a) Fun b) Disastrous c) Educational  laugh

First 5 or 10 minutes I was going OK, then the tires started going off and my already understeery car became practically un-driveable. Going through the mouse-trap I realise now I was steering too much into the corner so I was basically attempting to 'snow-plow' my way through the corner. By the 20 minute mark my front-right was flashing red and I had just tipped the thing on it's roof so I pitted for fresh tires.

Many lessons learned, thanks for the race.
