yay... back behind the wheel again. All things being equal I should be on the grid with you for this one

My problem Woodcote was not with the wheel, I have the G29 but with the sharp chicane! The National track is much closer to the track we always used in GTL and in my view a nicer track to drive on.

@ BIll - yes i know what you mean it feels ridicoulsy slow to get around it

I'm going to give these a miss tonight since Thursdays race with a combination of poor seating choice/position i've hurt my back ...lame i know buts something i've had on/off for years and certain things trigger it have rig but am waiting on a seat which will be supportive and i should help a lot, so i am hanging up the gloves for a fwe days. Hope to be back for Thursdsay DTM
have fun

Having problems on this twisty track, car won’t go where I want it to go!  Roll Eyes Help, any setups please?   Grin

just a thought and i am sure you already know this .... as i only starting this PC simracing game in January this year and bought a Logitech G923

I am not sure why but i cannot change the steering rotation angle in game, in the car setup menu. So what ever i had set the wheel to rotate in the wheels software was what i had to drive the car with.
I am not talking about the visual matching of the wheel to the graphic in the option menu just purely the steering rotation from the in car setup menu
This meant whether i drove one of the smaller formula cars which i think has 327 or that big SLK Merc which has a full 900 i only had my choice (at the time about 300) of how i had set the rotation angle in the wheels software to drive with which made some cars absolutly inpossible to drive

...until that is that it was pointed out to me i could (or should be able) to change the steering rotation angle for each car in the car setup menu to match what ever the steering wheel rotation angle is set to  Shocked
...imagine my revelation  Huh

... so iam forced to match the wheel rotation to each car its a bit of a faff but not a big problem as long as i remember to do it when i drive a different car....
At the end of the day not with standing my questionable talent i can at least drive more cars now so that might be worth a check...maybe?

i sat and watched via a stream channel and helped/re-assure him about pit strategy that he had enough fuel etc... and offered encouragement etc...  2 hrs is a long time on ya own
which for me in itself was good fun

anyway the quality of racing was very good, full gris...30 cars?
I think the server he joined was the 80+ 1600 + option but not sure of the server grade
7  Race Room Experience / RRE Races / Re: RRE Season 8 (2021) E8 CUPRA E - Hockenheim - Mar 14 on: March 12, 2021, 05:00:16 PM +0000
not looked at setups so I cannot help you there  Embarrassed

but was wondering about the power map versus battery usage havin not driven an E racer before is that a thing?
...and would it affect a race of only 20 mins?
In other words if you had the higher map does the battery drain sooner...  now i've written that down i think i have answered my self ...it must do right?
8  Race Room Experience / RRE Races / Re: RRE Season 8 (2021) Formula 90 - Silverstone - Mar 11 on: March 12, 2021, 04:52:50 PM +0000
really enjoyed last night thank you guys

my number one learning from last night was not to be so surprised as to how fast things happen with these cars

from having clear space behind to have my mirrors filled made me jump of the track  Shocked and then later to catch up with someone Toni (? i think) in a matter of a corners ...made me jump off the track again .. Smiley

great fun though reminded me of many hours spent on Geoff Crammonds GP and GP2 all be it hunched over a keyboard

...did some say Spa?

Anyone know how these Ranked Enduros work? As there are various levels, presumably you can join whichever one you want providing you have the required rank & reputation, or are you automatically put in the one which is relevant to your r&r.

A friend of mine did the GT1/GT2 at Imola on Wednesday - he mentioned there were three servers Bronze, Silver and Gold *(i think) and depending on rep and ranking you can join which ever you could get into given your own rep and ranking.
Once a server is full and goes to quali another opens with the same criteria so more can join that new one but still particiapte in the weekly enduro event of that given server level e.g bronze, silver, gold server
.... emphasis on the 'i think' bit... Smiley

...took me about 5 mins to work out why the engine did not fire when i pressed starter button  Roll Eyes
14  Race Room Experience / RRE Races / Re: RRE Season 8 (2021) Formula 90 - Silverstone - Mar 11 on: March 09, 2021, 11:20:32 AM +0000
i think i should be nicknamed 'plank' after a recent post with phspok so newbie 'plank' post alert  Embarrassed

apart from the obvious is there any difference on track between the V8, V10 or v12?
they all seem blindingly quick.... gulp... i'll be honest I am quite scared for Thursday now

Regarding setups for any car not just these beasts is the base setup good enough? - i mean if i was any good id be quick with a default setup so tinkering will not make me any quicker... right?
So apart from basics like wing/downforce, brake bias setups, tyre pressure setups are very much a dark art for me but I have seen a couple of posts regarding race trim vs qualifying trim.... excuse my ignorance but do you guys run a qualifying and race setup for each car?
Apart from the fuel level i dont change anything ...am i missing something?

thank you
15  Race Room Experience / RRE Races / Re: RRE Season 8 (2021) Formula 90 - Silverstone - Mar 11 on: March 06, 2021, 12:17:04 AM +0000
I've basically given up on AC. The FFB just doesn't work properly on Logitech wheels, no matter what anyone says, except on certain cars after hours of tweaking.

R3E, however, is generally good. Only in this car, they recently changed the steering geometry, which seems to have reduced the forces a lot in low-speed cornering. This leads to a very floaty and imprecise feeling in and out of corners. If I counter this by increasing the car-specific gain, I get crazy rattling going over the kerbs.

i might be late to the party so apologise if all this has been said, but i have an issue with my G923.... i cannot change steering rotation angle ingame in the car setup menu....(no arrows to adjust value) so i am forced to changed GHub to match the car i want to drive..... probably obvious to everyone but what a revelation that was when i stopped driving everycar with 300 degrees set on the wheel Logitech software!
Second thing that really worked for me was reducing the Force Feedback miniman force to 0% that helped with over all 'rattling' sure i still get it but not as bad but then my curb vibration is only 20%

But i hear you this car is very 'glass' like but it is my first drive so not really qualified to comment only run about 20-30 laps
