Witham, must admit I enjoyed the 15mins or so scrap we had before you retired, even better when CP joined us for a few laps. Nearly took you off at one stage trying to watch what CP was doing and consequently braked later than I should have done, watching the replay looks like I missed you by about a fag packets width!
Good driving after your mistake in eau rouge gave me the run on you up the following straight. Had me wondering if you were going to pull across but decided to brave it out and try and make the pass stick. Don't think I would have passed you except for this mistake as I could never quite get close enough to attempt a pass.
Not sure if you let me back through after the bus stop incident or if you glanced the wall and this slowed you down, but thanks anyway.
After this I pretty much circulated on my own, lapping the odd NGT, I don't really remember the faster GTs passing me, so they must have done it when I pitted.

Poor race from me. I just do not seem to be able to get the hang of this track and struggle to keep the car on track for more than 5/6 laps at a time, although I did manage around 20mins in last nights race. I knew I was going to be in trouble during the week, when I could not break the 1m 41 barrier in a Lister. Qually finally saw me do a 1m 40 but was still slower than the fastest N-GTs. This has got to be my worst track as I'm normally closer than this to the default time.
Race started OK, gained a place due to the spin at the hairpin, I then missed the braking point at the first quick right/left sequence and dropped a couple of places. Gained those places back over the next few laps, was soon lapped by JC and then it started to go wrong. Had a couple of spins into the gravel at various points on one lap and ended up losing more places, in trying to get them back ended up driving into a wall. Don't think the car was badly damaged but decided I was in the wrong frame of mind for racing and called it a night.

I'll try and make this one, enjoyed last night although I'm a good 5secs off the pace of everyone else. Need to study the replay to see why everyone else is quicker. Has anyone tried the UK Porsche Cup mod? Looks like it uses the German mod but with UK paint schemes and championship rules regarding points etc. Might be worth using this mod rather than the German one, if only because sponsors, team names etc are probably more familiar! This mod has seen me picking up rFactor again as it seems just so much better than the fictional cars, also the addition of real tracks helps, although running the Porsches on the ovals is fun. The feel of the rFactor Porsche is so much different than that in GTR and in my opinion much better, I find my braking is much smoother, also the front wheels seem more communicative. Strange really as I've copied my GTR wheel settings over to rFactor.
The force feedback in the Porsche mod is much better than I remember from that in the fictional and F3 cars.
Trouble is now, there are three Sims I want to play; GTR, GTL and rFactor but not enough time to do justice to any of them and to become better at them.

My recent lack of practice with GTR coupled with first time out in a Porsche was reflected in my rather pathetic performance tonight. Must admit I much prefer the feel of the Porsche mod for rFactor, not that I'm much better with that either. Still good racing from all. aajay

I'll have to see what is planned for me but I'll try to make it. Having raced one full season and the odd fun race I suppose that counts for some experience - lol. Just need to practice in a slower car. Merry Christmas to all. aajay

Doh! Should have realised that. Thanks anyway guys. By the way, had a great season, could have been better but for the non-start at Oscherleben (remember the hovering 550) - not that I'm bitter and twisted about it. Still good close racing and looking forward to season 2 and hopefully a GTL season. I'm sure in the meantime I'll see on a track somewhere. Sounds like the title for a song - LOL Aajay.

Quick question, hopefully someone will know the answer.
Why was the Monza race only 52mins long?
I only ask because I pitted with about 9 - 10 mins to go when in 5th place, with a lead over 6th place of around 1m20 - 1m30 and I think around 30 - 40s behind 4th place. Completed my pit stop and I was now 1L down on 4th and ahead of 6th place by about 10 - 20s, so my pit stop must have taken around 1m. However as soon as I drove out of the pits the time to go on the HUD displayed ------ meaning the race was over. I completed 1 more lap to make sure and sure enough I was given the race over message. By my calculations on exiting the pits there should have been another 8mins of racing to go!
Sure enough when I checked the results Jon's time shows he completed the race in 52mins.
Interestingly apart from Enna (and Spa obviously) the remaining races were around 59mins or just over the hour. Enna was 55mins. Division 1 timings are similar. Must be something to do with the tracks?

Well considering I wasn't looking forward to that race as I didn't expect to be too competitive due to lack of practice and having trouble keeping it on the track when I did get a chance to practice, I think that was the most enjoyable race I've had all season.
Good 15-20 mins close racing with Zachari to start with for 5th place, with 4th place still in my sights. Until Zac got a better run onto the start/finish straight to pass me, only for me to pass him a few laps later after he span. I then lost him in my mirrors and in trying too make sure I didn't turn into him, I ran wide and he was through and away. Until the latter stages of the race when again passed him after he had spun in the chicane.
Not sure if non-stop strategy would have seen me on the podium though. It was looking good until the 30min mark when a silly spin in the chicane saw me take over 20secs to regain the track - Still better race than last time! Tyres seem to last OK still running at about the same pace at the end, perhaps I need to push harder!
Start was a little weird. Qualified 7th and was placed on the grid in 7th, starting rolling when the cars in front did albeit slowly to allow the 6th place qualify to filter in front of me, only to find I was now 5th. Did someone not make the start?
Until Monza then

Yes its arrived. Wife was going to ban it until Xmas to give to me as a present! :'( Soon put paid to that idea. Like Dave noticed stutters/slow downs particularly at Mondello in the sequence just after the start/finish straight. aajay

Looks promising that I might find my copy when I get home. Weather & trains permitting.
Pity I've got work tomorrow, still as I'm going into my local office rather than London, could be a short day!

Succumbed also, on order from play.com.
Wasn't going to bother, having enough trouble finding time to really get to grips and improve on GTR and occaisionally rFactor, plus fitting in that work and family thing we all need to do, without having another racing game. But having read the reviews and played with the demo a little more couldn't resist, not a great fan of the old cars but the feel of the demo is just soooo good and could result in some good online racing.
Like to see a game based on the touring cars from the 80s; ie RS500s and the like.

Pleased with 3rd place, particularly as two weeks ago couldn't complete one lap without falling off the track, not a track I have previously driven a lot. Glad I took time on Saturday to complete an off-line wet race to tune my wet setting. Thanks to Shark for his setups as I've been using those recently with slight modifications to allow for race distance etc.
Qualified 7th and gained a few places thanks to people falling off in front of me, a few pitstops by others saw me in 2nd place after about 35mins and 2nd was looking a possibility but Mo's pace was too much for me and he re-took the place with about 10mins to go. The couple of earlier minor spins possibly cost me the place also. I need to work on my race pace.
Good driving by the NGTs etc when coming up to lap them was much appreciated. One point to note; there were some without lights on.
