That was really hard work, whether it was the corner speeds or the bumpy nature of the track but it meant your on edge constantly. I was struggling to even match the times of the those in front in faster cars Tongue Got caught out a few times and with about 20 mins to go i felt a bit drained and with no one around to chase decide to give up.

Car felt fine overall, decided to not change tyres when i stopped as i had only about 7.5 wear all round.

Well that was hard work. The bumpy track and the heavy graphics meant my eyes were wobbling by about half way (racer excuse #432  laugh).

I had a great quali with one of the best laps I've ever done and a good few opening laps where I gradually built a lead.

I managed to get to the pitstop error free and with a 14 sec lead, but lost lots of time even though I didn't change tyres and found that H@L was closing in on me. I was able to dig a bit deeper and manage the gap, but then Legzy started closing at an alarming rate  Shocked I was really struggling for grip (maybe that's where the Radical loses out in race). Made my first mistake of the race getting skewy out of a corner which was enough to let Legzy through. Managed to cling on for a bit, but then a big mistake put me in the armco and I had to tootle around for the remainder of the race with damage and no grip Roll Eyes

Love these cars and the tracks, but I really do hate strategy and pitstops these days. I always manage to mess things up which ends up costing me dear.

Congrats to Legzy and pody.

Looking at the gap at the end of the race, seems that was really a close fight Smiley

I guess you enjoyed it a lot chaps... I'll be back in 2 weeks for the next race in Lime Rock with the Prototypes, cause I will jump even the next GTC race unfortunately Sad

Grats to Captain Legzy for the victory, and to H@l and TT for the pody Smiley

GT, you need some training for those damned pit stop! I'm thinking about a translation of my guide for a fast pit stop with GTR2, hoping to be helpful. I will post it soon Smiley

Thanks Manteos, but unfortunately it isn't not knowing what to do, but just being able to do it without faffing it up. I reckon it's me age creeping up  wheelchair

2nd in quali gave me a chance to chase GT from the start. We were equally matched, he was faster on a straight while I closed right in through the twistys. More pressure brings results. Or would have. Roll Eyes Over eager on a corner exit popped me into the armco, making damage. Was losing 0,5 s per lap from then on and I lost loads of positions. Came outta pits 7th I think. Yea, I changed tyres. Wink Managed to push and came close close close to H@l and Legzy. If I had more time everything was (would have been? helpsmilie ) possible. Wink

Good cars to lap in. Is Sebring really that bumpy?

Dont think the default is too bad for them. Clearly the Radical is a quick one to go with. Think of it as the 997 of the group Tongue

tried getting on the server tonight but was given the 'booted as possible cheat' message whether i tried a 911 (996) RS or a F430 gtc.

Anyone else able to get on? Ive got the latest .15 car set physics installed.

Also noticed the 997cup skins were blanked out but didnt try using that car.

Might help if you posted in the right thread!

Just going to jump on myself. You do need to install all the skins and sound packs again.

oh, just realised I never wrote this one up & after a rare (sadly) legzy win too! laugh

I have a feeling the Radical is a bit strong really, as I'd done zero practice & I jumped in the car for the very 1st time at about 8pm on the night & my fastest race lap was over a sec quicker than the next fastest drivers (two guys I'm normally the same/slower than). Undecided

I spent the whole of practice getting used to the car & making a couple of tweaks, then continued to work on my race setup through qually & still managed 5th on the grid with race fuel & med tyres.

Come the race, I quickly noticed that I had a fair bit of pace spare & was being held up as I had to work through some of the pack. Had a couple of moments with a couple of drivers possibly trying a little too hard to keep their positions (plus myself possibly being over-confident/keen to get through Undecided) & found my self off track & at the back. Still, that just enabled me to over-take everyone again Grin which is always enjoyable rare!

Found that at about 1/4 distance, the car had become very very oversteery. I tried to eek it out as long as I could before pitting as i knew if I pitted too early I'd just have the same problem multiplied at the end of the race. But after a few big moments, particularly when trying to get the power down sweatdrop I pitted for fresh boots comfortably before 1/2 distance.

2nd half I drove with a view to looking after my rear tyres a little when possible (moving my brake bias forward etc), but I knew I should be doing better than I was & GT particularly had had a massive lead after the 1st stint. I think a few of the drivers ahead of me didn't change their tyres & it really showed as the 2nd half wore on. My mistake though, was to not take on enough fuel! From the moment I got past GT, I had to short shift, keeping the gap to 1 sec as best I could. I think I'd have had to give up the lead eventually, but lucky for me he had an off or two & I was able to mega-short-shift, till the last handful of laps when H@L & TT had got themselves into striking distance... I crossed the line with under half a liter left & the pair of them just a sec behind.

I reckon that I (& maybe the other podiums) could do with carrying a little bit of ballast moving forward, maybe just 4,7 & 10kg for each time you're on the podium to carry till season end. It should be enough to just shave a few tenths of the fastest chaps laptimes, bringing us closer without crippling anyone. Just an idea. If it doesn't happen I may switch to one of the other cars if I get any practice time, as noval as it is, I'm not interested in being over a sec per lap quicker than anyone else.

p.s. Note to self, make the car a fraction less oversteery especially on corner exit for next race
p.p.s. Brilliant pit-stop by the way H@L, very very slick Shocked

I'm not yet convinced about the fact that Radical is faster than the RS Spyder, despite the fact I'm more and more convinced that Lola is the slowest of this pack.

After a test in Limerock this afternoon, I was slightly faster with the RS, and in Barcelona during the first test race, I was in a range of about 2 tenths comparing my laptimes between RS Spyder and Radical. Same happened to me in the 2nd test race at Suzuka.
Probably the Radical got a slight advantage in max speed, but at the same time it's slightly worse in braking and cornering in my opinion, so strenghts and weekness about these 2 cars make a well balanced fight.
I find it very difficult to drive the Lola, cause of the limited view in cockpit, but the feeling is that even with a better view, this car would be simply a bit slower.

By my side, I will race always with the RS Spyder going on, cause I feel more comfortable in it, and especially more consistent in race pace. I really don't think that Radical must be slowed in some way, compared to the RS. If there's a car that needs 4/5 tenths more to be competitive, that car is Lola, and I agree with you in this case looking at the difference between your best lap, and TT/H@l best. Unfortunately I didn't have the chance to try the RS Spyder and Radical at Sebring, so I can't tell you if in that circuit the gap was slightly wider, but I doubt it.

Cu Smiley
