Moderator's Report

Only the one incident on this server, in the Red Zone, and no others reported. Keep up the good work gents.

Server replay time: 0

A very similar incident to the one on the other server, however, in this instance contact was made. Joe (Miniblood) gets a good start and rounds up Jonny O to the outside of the track on the normal racing line. Jason Blito equally starts well and zips past Johnny up the inside. Both continue on their respective courses until full side contact is made.
I'm hard pressed to attribute any blame here and it seems to be a case of right place, wrong time X2. Neither would have had a clue where the other was as they were both traveling on opposite sides of the VERY wide straight. To make it worse, both seemed to be judging clearance off Jonny O who was mid track, and would have been masking any possible sighting of each other, until they met at the point of impact. Jason's corner entry was pretty sloppy and a tad fast, which forced him to drift off the racing line at approximately mid corner. But there is nothing in the rules about sloppy driving, luckily, otherwise we'd all be on suspension. I'll insert a caution here, to remind all drivers in this situation to take all possible steps to maintain their own side of the track until other cars nearby become visible. I'm putting this down to an unfortunate racing incident, as 2 cars into one track space simply do not go. To give penalties here would be counter-productive in an effort to produce good racing. And for Mini...put it down to experience.

Moderator's Report

A relatively good start to the season in the Porsche Cup, with only one reported incident....which was part of the 3 first lap incidents due moderation as per the Red Zone rule. Well done gents, overall excellent driving. Let's try to keep it that way for the remainder.....

Server replay time: 0

Nicky turns in to turn 1 from about mid track, while M. Zampedri, starting from an inside grid runs straight up the inside. Nicky's replay shows contact, but the server replay shows Zampedri to be 2-3ft clear of the rear quarter of Nicky's car. Further evidence of warp being the fact that had the two cars actually made contact, both would normally have spun off. As it was, Mr. Zampedri continued unimpeded, suggesting a decent wallop of warp. Heavy warp seems to be more likely in a packed, startline environment.....so leaving a little more space between cars, especially in Pro events seems prudent.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 0h01m01s

Sky loses it and spins across the track. Paul Markey (Screwcutter) is very slow to react and hits Sky amidships. Paul might have reacted faster but contact was unavoidable. The Chief Moderator (Vosblod) decide summary justice is due and rear ends Paul spinning him off - unavoidable prang for the boss.

Server replay time: 0h03m00s

Fulvio has an exciting few corners. He hits Natan from behind but they are both OK. It is Fulvio's responsibility to avoid the contact but he is experienced enough to know that and this is just a gentle tap.

Server replay time: 0h03m16s

This time Fulvio gives Natan a big whack, but Natan has lost it under braking and contact is unavoidable. The two of them collect Hendy as an afterthought.

Season 22 - Porsche Super Cup
Race 1 Surfers Paradise

Welcome to the opening round of the Porsche Super Cup for Season 22. The venue is the wonderful Surfers Paradise layout in sunny (well, most of the time) Queensland. Many of the GP stars were found here through the 60's attending the Tasman Series events, a championship split between Australian and New Zealand tracks and often used by the teams as 'shakedown' races for their new chassis prior to the start of the new European F1 season. The Porsche is great fun to drive here and should provide some cracking racing. However, be aware that it could be a little crowded early on and patience will be a must.

Please check the Season 22 pages for details regarding rules and the Porsche Super Cup pages in particular.

Just a note of clarification. The Server 1 password is at the top of the page, the Server 2 password is the second one down.

The Porsche Super Cup Races will be run across 2 Servers, under Pro rules and will be approximately 50 minutes in length.
Lap 1 will be fully moderated as the lap is short, consequently a 'red zone' is not appropriate, and thereafter will be reported incidents only.

Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page

There are drivers missing from some teams, unfortunately with a lack of entries for the class, this has become unavoidable. As the season progresses we may pick up enough drivers to fully populate the remaining teams. And rather than tell drivers they can't race, it is fairer to let them form a team, in the hope of filling it properly as we go along.

Hi guys, nice to be with you all for the 2nd year.
These tracks are pretty good and there are a few I've never raced on before.
I've downloaded the Surfers Paradise Base Installation but, I don't know if there are also some more stuff to install on, indeed I've found a .zip file that did not have the installer inside and neither which version it pertains to.
If there is a favorite procedure to get the correct installation, please write it down here.
Thanks to all and...have a nice season with the Porsche Super Cup.

Best regards

The base install is all you need to race with Sergio. All the other stuff is purely window dressing and up to personal taste. The add-ons are not required for the races.

Sergio

You can get a base installer here - just click on the map.

There are add on horizons as well as the main file, which are available here but they are not necessary and I threw them away.

I think he might be right, the layout on Paul's site looks like the modern street track layout, not the 60s version of Surfers which we will be using.

LOL - I did think it looked a bit odd but it is the BAPOM cover. There are two versions I think. I'll try and update it.

Actually this may be important because the Surfers Paradise on the Track Database is NOT the one we want to use. We need to insure that drivers have inatalled the track on my site and not 'austral' which is buggy,  causes CTD and most importantly of all is a totally different layout.

Is the track we are using on the database yet?

I think you should have to show the correct layout like a reference.

Thanks.

The correct one is NOT available on the track database, which is a pain.

Definitely on my site though.
