Good grief!
What are the chances of anyone turning up in the right car at Round 2?
@Tim I did about eleventy million laps of Snet in the BSCC before Stig pointed out that the TA had an extra 18bhp.
Hard luck on Stig last night btw.
I thanked John last night for keeping Geoffers busy but thinking about it I probably need to thank Geoffers for keeping John busy too. Tim rear ending John helped both Geoffers and me.
I had my TA on its top ratio and realised that I would have to rev the nuts off it before dropping the clutch when the light went green.
That did the trick and let me get to T1 in the lead.
At the end of the straight on lap one I braked a bit late on race fuel and cold tyres and went a bit deep. That made me a bit slow at mid-corner and I donated a brake light to Geoffers' collection. The nudge caused him more problems than me and opened up a car length or so of gap so that I never had to worry about anyone in my mirrors.
John set about Geoffers and I was able to open up a gap, which got to about 9 seconds at one point. I lost a bit of time just by bad luck of where I encountered back markers but everyone was very gentelmanly about letting me through. Many thanks.
Not a great fan of Knockhill and the Mustang would not normally be my choice but the grunt should be useful coming up the hill past the pits after the hairpin. Glad I'm not in a 1300!
Hope to see you all next week for a nice dry race at Portland.
