That's the trouble with the younger generation..........................too many spectators!
Just had a first few laps. This track goes on for ever!! Don't think they could decide how to end the lap.

(I keep this page reloading each time I launch my browser...) I have to admit my surf on your site is less spontaneous than on most, and that my imagination had convinced me this one would be a "mini's only" race. All in all, sorry for my misunderstanding.

An unexpectedly good night’s racing.
With the twisty track and the rain I wasn’t expecting to trouble the front of the race but the first lap gave me some openings to reach second spot for quite a few laps.
I think that I was 5th on the grid and managed to get off the line well but at T1 I found myself on the outside of the Alfas of Geoffers and Manteos, following Tim. Tim then converted his Mustang into a road block and just about brought me to a standstill. That let the two Alfas off the hook whilst Tim put the power down and sprinted ahead of the three of us. This meant that I had a two-abreast Alfa road block to contend with down the straight to T3.
At T3 things got interesting as Tim and Manteos took to the grass I was left to chase Geoffers up towards T4 (Lefthander). Mustang power got me up the inside and it just about had enough cornering ability to let me hug the inside through the long corner. It surprised Geoffers anyway as I felt him bounce off the outside.
So, I completed lap one in second spot and could still see John at that point too! The attack of the two Alfas didn’t take long to materialise and there followed a good bit of close racing, although the outcome was never really in doubt. I did lose second to Geoffers at one point and then reclaimed it when he made a mistake.
I didn’t realise that my tyres would go off as quickly as they did and I was struggling to brake and steer which gave too many openings for the Alfas to make use of.
Tim must have been in the same position as he was a good ten seconds or so behind me when, trying to get back on terms with the Alfas, I spun at T1. Then Tim was 2 to three seconds behind me and I must have sweated off a kilo or two to keep it that way to the end of the race. I made one or two errors when I couldn’t remember which corner came next!
Grats to John, (wonder where he went) Manteos and Geoffers.

Did my normal last night I think - Decent enough qually position, good start - and then totally ruined it and dropped myself to last! Drove like a loonie to find myself back within 2 seconds of Clive and his fan club - even took 4th for a while when Manteos made a mistake. Then I started making more of my own mistakes as my tires started to give up - had 3 spins/off road incidents from then to the finish which conspired to prevent me from moving back up the field. Like Clive I was litterally streaming with sweat by the end of the race, but can't complain because it had been such good fun throwing the Tank around trying to get back up the field I see Clive has a small lead again in the championship - I'd better start doing practice prior to the remaining events then

Quite surprised by how quick the Cortina was here, I was expecting the Alfas to walk it! Mind you, sounds like they were playing with Mustangs for most of the race..

........................... but could it be possible to get the thread a bit earlier ? LOL The race announcements were all posted about eight months ago. The problem is that the forum is so dead that nobody says anything before the race happens. As Tony says, look at the Forthcoming panel in the top right of this screen. I will go and give the next race a "bump" just for you.

Great fun yesterday for me. I didn't remember this track at all, except for the last bend (don't ask me why ). So I spent 20 mins before the start to understand the track, but without success. I had only 6 mins to do a couple of laps in qualif session, and I even forgot to remove the fuel, so my laptime was really bad. After a bad start, I regained a couple of positions, but I had some issues to remember the second sector of this track in which there are at least 2 corners that I confused for at least 10 laps. My gears were totally wrong, and I struggled all the time to understand which was the right gear for every corner, but without success. After the great battle against Clive and Geoffers, I started to drive a bit better. Geoffers was a bit faster than me, but we were really close in terms of gap. After my last mistake at lap 11 or 12, Geoff passed me but only for 1 corner, cause in the next one he kindly gave back to me the 2nd position after a mistake. By that moment, I just tried to avoid other mistakes, and near the lap 15, I even started to remember the corner of this damned track. Geoffers was the fastest on track, but I guess he was pushing a lot to replace the gap with me, and sometimes he did small mistakes, so I could finish the race with 6/7 seconds of advantage. Not bad after all... Grats to John for the victory, and Geoffers for 3rd. Great fun with Clive during the first 7-8 laps, chasing his monster. Great drive Thanks everybody for racing. Cu for the next
