Qualifying quite good considering lack of practice.  Race more or less as expected but exiting last turn, too heavy right boot and hit wall wrecking left front end.  Pitted for repairs, left garage with Zero engine life.  Did a few more laps went off and sat there whilst leaders went by - now 3 laps down, so quit.

Tony, you gave me a bum steer with the cars!  It says rank 7 to 10 any of above cars plus ATCC and westlake ! My rank on your excell sheet is 8  Huh I read that twice this week. Didnt think i had suddenly got so fast as to get same slower car choice as Manteos and Johnw !!  Shocked

I knew something would go wrong tonight as it always does when i have a rare week that i can match the front few for pace before the event Roll Eyes

Changing cars during qually fubard me as i hadnt done any testing with that Mustang with Cr9670 tyres. The other two stangs i had used in praccy all week had different tyres and all that i had done to eliminate understeer with that front left tyre haunted me tonight  Sad

Ah well, qualied 5th or 6th. Had an okay race, battles with manteos early on until i clipped a tyre wall on exit of final chicane. It span me and dropped me to 10th  :'( Fought my way back up to 5th after some great battles with Stig and Alex   They sadly fell off at different places and i took it home for a distant 5th. Nearly threw it away with two late trips to the grass as my front left was knackered. Shocked

Well done Muttram and pody  Cool

MJ, the spreadsheet is recording, for your convenience, the number of times you race either of the cars. It's sole purpose in life is to stop you taking either car more than the permitted nine times (it will never record a number higher than 9).

Your rank is where you are in the league table. You began this race with a rank of FOURTH. Hence your car choice was limited.

This track will never be a favorite of mine, but never the less, I had one of the most entertaining races in P&G  Grin

Great duel with first Bill, the Tony and then Alex and MJ. At some point the 3 of us were running a side in between two turns  ........ close, clean and great fun thumbup2

ah okay, didnt know you meant 'finishing positions from the first race'. In the first post you list the categories 1-9 for car choices then very next sentence says 'check your status here', which i took to mean i was an 8  Undecided
No problem, too late now anyway.

Semi decent turn out again  Smiley Just a couple more drivers would fill it out nicely as it still gets a bit quiet late on in the races.

I had a cracking race last night, chose to take the Mann Falcon as I've always prefered it and after learning the circuit, rapidly started to get the setup dialled in (mostly thanks to it being pretty much correct to begin with)
I was as suprised as everyone else I think when I started putting in low 17's in qualifying trim, but when I managed that 1:17.3 on the third lap of the race I nearly crashed in shock!  Cheesy
Even looking back at the replay I'm not quite sure how I managed it, I suspect thanks go to Ade as he was staying close enough to really make me concentrate on lines and braking points. So that plus fresh rubber gave me a fantastic lap  Cool

I had quite a lonely race after the first few laps and apart from the odd backmarker (and Sandor's interestingly parked Falcon) didn't really see anyone.
All the lapped traffic was great, the only scare I had was when Hotkeys rejoined right infront of me on the final turn, not really his fault though as I don't think there was anyway he could have seen I was coming from that point in the corner.

A good start to this championship for me, hopefully I'll manage to continue making an appearence and have a go at the big prize again!  angel

Well, I figured, you might need something to break the monotony and solitude up front  scared................. nah, seriously, I never saw you coming.
I apologize, and I'm glad I didn't ruin your race.

Satisfactory one for me.

Could score a 1.19.8 in quali but changed back to hard tyres and higher (front-)tyre pressure
for the race in order to prevent tyre overheating which obviously was a good decision Smiley although
I could barely reach quali times.
During the first laps I was able to follow Alex but had no chance for overtaking.
After Manteos or Stig (don't know exactly cause I have not yet watched the replay) passed
I made my first mistake, lost some places and found myself behind Tony whom I tried to
catch up and overtake for some laps without success. I was very close sometimes but always made
little mistakes which avoided the overtaking (in general I noticed that I was able to brake a little bit
later at the end of the straight than the rivals - even the leaders - but the danger of missing the braking
point was always present, especially when driving close to competitors).
In the end I lost contact to Tony around lap 15 or so due to an extended and solid ride  Grin.
After some more laps Tony obviously had some issues on his part which led to a change in positions again
 - this time for good.
Good to get some more experience with the tanks.
Hoping for further improvements.

Thanks to Tony and Navin for some hints concerning the setup  Smiley

Unofficial LapChart

Action packed race all the way. First harassed by Eifel, the Mark & Stig. Normally I'm not in the same league but I was saved by the sheer grunt of the Falcon Mann on the straights.
Great battles.
Last couple of laps were sheer mayham. Drove the left front wheel on the rim, no rubber left (38 wear). Falcon all over the place with Stig gaining rapidly.
The let John through but had to keep up speed to prevent Stig from passing me (sry John if it looked a bit out of control).
Rubbed some paint with Stig and then saw Mark passing me  Huh Quite confused.

Congrats to podium and all we kept it on the grey stuff. Hard work. Congrats also to Les for finishing.

Now realizing the I am confined to the slowest Falcon on 'my favorite' Laguna Seca.. Gonna be a sittin' duck  wheelchair

Out of curiosity, how were you lot driving your respective tanks as I notice nearly everyone had issues with their front lefts!
I admittedly don't run XD so have no idea what my wear was, but my fronts were fine still come the end, I had enough grip to drift most of the circuit in celebration  Grin

I just ask as I noticed most cars appeared to be carrying loads of speed into the corners and then drifting through/out. I was getting most of my braking done early on this circuit and aside from occasionally riding the brake into T1 for balence if I went in slightly hot I managed to steer the car on the throttle and avoid really using the fronts that much..

While I'm possibly throwing away an advantage I thought some of you might like to try it Smiley

Simple answer is if some of us tried that we'd be in the scenery for most of the race  :'(

I was of the opinion that starting with a lower tyre pressure helped prevent tyre overheating.

Can we get some expert tell us the truth please?
