Although Long Beach is now my closest home track I would consider this and Sears Point my real home tracks. When I was a Northern California resident it was great living 1 hour from Sears Point and 2 hours from Laguna Seca Grin.
I hope to make it for this one.

A couple of guys have posted in your race thread over at NG that they want to race but don't know the password. It seems to be missing from the box at the top of the page, where it normally appears!  Roll Eyes

bah, disaster for me too.  Sad

Qualied okay in 5th behind Matt with clive just behind, so expecting a long close race.

But at T1 (despite me saying use caution   Roll Eyes ) i got hit from behind and also saw a falcon come steaming down the middle and take out 2 or 3 other cars  Shocked
that left me with just Tony for company with the front 3 already steaming off to a 5+ sec lead as they escaped the carnage. Got past Tony after a lap or two and found myself alone for a few laps with a 6+ sec lead in 4th.
Then totally innocuously, i exited the final corner, got a wheel on the skinny outside kerbing which spat me into the wall at low speed and flipped me onto my roof  Huh Race over early and i love this track  :'(
Buggered my 3rd in the champ table too  Sad

Think there was only about 8 runners left when i DNF'd.

Took it nice and easy into T1, but was distracted by all the carnage behind and tapped Clive...  death
Sorry for  that, then chased and passed, fell off chased and passed fell off this time took off a wheel
so left. Fun for a while trying to get past Clive "My car is wider than yours" Loynes  Roll Eyes

Unofficial LapChart

Not much to report. Tough track and all skill needed to keep it on the black stuff. After hitting a wall at the Cork steering was offset and ploughed on for a finish.

Congrats to 'Fast' John for again a victory and WT for the good result. Keep it up like this and you no longer in contention for the Gentlemen's Trophy  Wink (meant that as a compliment)

I wish I could of stayed for that one as it would of been a real challenge to stay ahead of John W. But I was expecting a conference call at 1:30 pm my time for an important personal issue(legal matter with a hospital...ya fun stuff  Roll Eyes). I was hoping that the call might be a bit late and I could get the race in but at 1:00 pm another call came and I was so thrown mentally that before I could check the caller id I dropped a wheel exiting turn 2 and weeeeee I went  Tongue. That said, the real call did come around 1:20 so I would of had to quit anyways but it would of been fun while it lasted Grin. To be totally honest I don't think I would of been able keep John W behind as my setup was far too neutral at the beginning and would of been a pushing pig around the halfway point and watching John W beautifully power sliding exiting out of the corners I could see his might be in much better shape late in the race. Plus if I didn't have the power of that Mann engine I'd been done for. John W would close the gap over and over only to have me drive away with that sweet motor. I might of used the Weslake Falcon but that car is a little weak on torque in the mid rpm range and I found the Mann powered car much more drivable at this track. And that one ATCC Mustang engine is just too ridiculously overpowered compared to the others. Tried it once in practice and it felt like someone slipped big block in that thing Shocked. Grats to John and great job podium and hey Tony for 4th!!!  Cool Very nice!! Cheers

Great first third of the race last night Smiley Was going all-out trying to stay with with NRJ while at the same time keeping a watchful eye on Ade behind. Real shame about Navin, thought we would be going like that for the whole race. Eased of a bit near the end as I didn't want to get in the way of the fight for third place - looked like great fun.

Kudos to the guys that could have taken faster cars, but chose not to. Grats to Ade and to Clive for putting it on the podium after getting caught up in the shenanigans on the first lap. thumbup1
