I'm pretty sure KH had a bit in reserve because his fastest lap was better than mine, nevertheless it was worth trying to put him under pressure just in case he made a mistake.
It was right out respectless to put me under that preassure Phil! I had some reserves that I was very hesitant to use on this track but did it anyways a couple of times to try keep you off my back Smiley
This race was nice and exciting although I did not dare to keep the preassure up like the front guys did. Great Job. I must admit by looking at the times that there was not much I could have done with evil anyway Grats.Early in the race a ferrari (I thought was Phil but rpy showed it was Andrea) passed Sven and I went somewhat wide in t1 to avoid contact. He managed however to brake sufficcently and stayed nice on the inside line. I kept looking 135 degrees and went wide in the following slow right hander. I stayed on the tarmac but Andrea went off.I think there was some contact between him and Sven. Sven had the ability to keep pressure and pace higher than me so I let him by and tried to follow him instead. I had bigger engine and could always get him on the straight I thought and the defensive driving cost us both time. I never really managed to hold that pace in the race and he pulled away from me. I had a nice 4 th pulling Al along in his more tricky BRM but was sad to see him touch the hayballs. Then the second half of the race was looking at timeboard and sweating big to keep a surprisingly fast Phil of my back. It was hard but I managed to take home 4 th. Smiley
Did they catch the mouse Al ?Cheesy

Sounds like Al prefers to drive without a mouse!  The opening stint without one, made it obvious my setup needed some adjustment, to tame it's unruly ways. This thought was thrown out the window, as soon as my car was thrown off the track.  I've a recent history of disco's and assumed I was alone, in being alone.  Rather surprised to finally regain the track! Cool

The race start seemed orderly enough, except I allowed Fulvio to sneak through.  Happier when an opportunity arrived to repass on lap 2, along the ever lasting right curve, down the inside.  The door was unexpectedly closing on my arrival, so my rear wheel, flung it open again as I came through, leaving poor Fulvio face down!  We were fortunate not to cause mass carnage!  My fault!  My apologies for being too opportunistic, in an unexpected passing place.  I was surprised to be able to continue.

My car soon developed into a bit of a beast to drive.  And I had Blito to attenuate my aspirations . . . my what?  Anyway, I was polite enough to turn around, and wave my thanks, upon passing him,  so he promptly repassed me!  The next time by, I decided to examine some straw, and let it do the waving for
me, without stopping.  Those cautionary tales we all read about, have to come from somewhere, you know!  Moments later, I missed a gear, and broke the motor, throwing oil out at my pursuer, to add to the straw.  At least it wasn't tar and feathers!  A poor reward for a Blito, who was driving well.  Undecided

I think memento's from this race, will go into a different kind of scrap book.

Are the results from replay visible anywhere without downloading replay itself. Like it is for 67W?

I am working on that Ivan. Probably not before Xmas though. Sorry. The results analysis on GPG8 is an external server but I am exploring producing the same thing on UKGPL3.

I saw it coming from a mile off m8 and made sure I was in a safe place, well away from the smoke and flames Cheesy  I breathed a big sigh of relief when your motor blew, then allowed Jonny O to pass (no point holding up a much faster guy) and set off on a serene cruise to  the finish, re-passing Jonny when he seemed to run into car trouble late in the race...

Not there was in trouble Blito, Cheesy you were simply increasing the pace and I could not handle.

My big problem was at the start, my car was muted  Angry  had to throw off the track and hit the wall with care of the box Shocked so the sound came back and returned to the race.  Grin

so.... if the moderators see the replay of my start Shocked....... I was not mad.

Set off in hot pursuit of Phil but found my concentration was now being severely challenged by the missus who was charging around the house chasing the cat who was in turn chasing a mouse that she'd just brought in & promptly let loose in the kitchen (I bet Graham Hill never had to put up with that!)

LOL Al, I knew I had to do something when I saw your performance at Moulinsart so I asked my cats to telepathically contact your cat and ask her to .......... it seems that it worked  Grin

The race allthough I got a good second was a bit of a misscalculation. I took the start and managed to get through the first tricky T1, T2 but so did Evil, I must confess that I more or less did not expect him to, so after a few more turns I eased off a bit to let him by. I am not so very keen on having drivers right behind me because I know I tend to brake early and that may lead to a bit too close racing for my liking. But I was confident both to be able to follow him and that he would sooner or later visit the scenery but instead he left me behind and stayed on track, WD Evil, so there I was with my supersmart calculations and had to focus on keeping my second rather that putting pressure on Evil.

Luckily I managed to keep Sven and the rest at a safe distance allthough at times I was a bit worried because I was over cautious as soon as I saw a yellow flag and there were quite many and on top of that some lapping, not that there were any problems but some laptimes were quite slow but I guess Sven, in third, had his moments also because he never really got any closer, and I could keep my second.

Thanks all for a good race, 8 finishers is an all time Monsanto record at UKGPL, and Congrats to Evil for the win and Sven for 3rd.

Göran

PS. The true server story. Fulvio reset and I restarted the server, sorry for the loss of quali times.

PPS: Thanks Paul for putting up the replay.

Cheesy Fear not animal lovers - it appears that the mouse escaped through the kitchen door during all the kerfuffle (though I wouldn't fancy his chances of getting past the owls...)

Bart uses scripts to generate report and save zipped replay and results at the end of the race. You can ask him about to not discover hot water again Wink

Thanks Fulvio - the analyser does a nice job of producing an HTML report as is but I wanted to give it some GPL branding - not too difficult but a lot of work for very little gain...
