What a turn out. is always some bump and shove at Monaco, I fluffed the start by selecting 2nd, then tangled with Tibs as he ws , I think , slowing
for someone in front, and i lifted but tagged him, waited when I could get out of the way , then he got stuck somewhere and i went off
to see who I could catch. had some good laps trading errors with K Dummer, I forgot where I was once and went over the barrier onto the
roulette tables, got back on and caught passed got caught etc.

Fun race, even though Monaco is not on my fave track list. Driving the little Escort made it great. Apologies to senyorlobo for tagging you a couple of times, sometimes had trouble stopping the wee beastie. Traded places with senyorlobo a couple of times and got past him into 6th at one time after he made a little faux pas. Then the tyres cried enough and I had a spin at the top of the hill, giving the place back again. He skipped clear then, and discretion better than valour took over and I drove my ailing Ford to the finish in 7th. Happy overall with that because most ahead of me were 2+ seconds a lap quicker.....there would be no making any gains on those chaps. Thanks Tony for the server and admin, thanks to all competitors and drivers we lapped during our tussle, for moving over. Much appreciated. Finally Grats to Navin and the other rocket pilots on the dais. A class of your own today.

Another mixed night, magic lap, 6 secs quicker than previous PB, in qualifying.  Made quiet start avoided the first lap problems but put Eifelblitz out when I found him spun around blind corner.  Had a few good laps put in a sub 2 min lap in race then had a big bounce off the rails and collected a puncture.  Crept around track and pitted - had the "proper job" repair and joined 2 laps down.  After a few more laps had a boot up the tail, lifting at entrance to Chicane, and was knocked into the Armco - handling a bit odd after that.  Spun, just around that real sharp right hander after start/finish, so quit as it was too dangerous to try and recover from there.

Same with me, clipped barrier there on lap 6 & the car rolled & ended upside down in the middle of the track, so quit so as not to cause problems to any approaching cars.

Made the mistake of not testing with full fuel. I found the BMW was really tail-happy on turn-in with the extra fuel & very tricky to drive in the early laps. Also found the steering lock to be really odd on the BMW, never noticed it before but even with lock set to maximum I was turning the wheel much further than the one on screen was turning, almost twice as much. Seems OK on other cars, anyone else notice that?

Congrats to Navin, Mark & Berger  clap

Don't worry, Bill. You didn't put me out. I just hadn't realized yet in that particular moment that I was already at 0%, still wondering why there was no engine anymore. Otherwise I had left the game one or two seconds earlier  Roll Eyes. Glad that you didn't receive substantial damage
and could go on racing  Smiley

Smiley  A great race for me with a fantastic turn out by all.  Smiley

I thought I had quail in the bag with a 1.43 which was a fatal mistake as Geoffers and Navin proved....Well done guys.

Started in P3 and beaten into T1 by Berger.  Shocked Then had to do a banzai into the first hairpin down the inside to get past him.  Smiley

I was then behind Geoffers and could see Navin starting to ease away so pushed geoffers hard on lap 2 unfortunately making contact into the Monte Carlo Grand Hotel Hairpin and breaking Geoffers tail light....Sorry mate.

Embarrassed I then backed off a bit and a few laps later Geoffers went wide proving things come to those whom wait.

My car was set up on a full tank of fuel (my quali time was on a full tank  Grin ) So I new I had to push like hell to have any chance of beating Navin.

I managed to close the gap a little but by now Navin was in his grove and by two thirds distance my tyres started to protest against the constant pushing and drifting!  Roll Eyes Shocked Grin Grin

I decided with a nice 20 sec plus margin to Burger to back off and settle for P2.  Grin Grin

I'm not a great fan of street circuits but really love Monaco.....Can we get the Minis here some time Tony?  Grin

Congrats to everyone whom turned up and raced and for all the back markers I passed being very switched on with gentlemenly conduct...Many thanks.  Smiley Smiley

No worries Mark, I'll send you a bill for the new one.  Grin

You were much faster than me there, I couldn't brake anywhere near as late as you, the car would just plough straight on. Car was good on fast corners but just would not turn in the slow ones.

Great race for me  Smiley   but first things first, apologies to Ade, at first lap we tried to pass across the fast chicane at the same time and that caused his crash into the barrier and post-chain reaction crash just before Tabac. I heard his engine reving down and thought he was letting me pass first, but i was wrong  Sad

Thanks to everyone who i lapped for making easy the maneuver  thumbup1  again apologies to phspok for hold his race up re-lapping him a few times because of my spins in front of him  Sad  After several barrier hits my car was nearly undriveable in some sections.

Thanks for hosting the server and grats to everyone who appeared!  thumbup1

I was watching it all unfold approaching the chicane, and was guessing it'd end in trouble. I lifted to allow myself a chance to avoid Ade, but sadly, as I was about to pass the stricken Porsche, a car from behind arrived at speed and hefty contact occurred.

It was a shame, but also maybe a bit lucky for the rest of the field, that I ended up in the harbour, as it meant that when the 'Pack' arrived, it was to an empty piece of track.

After one of my trademark blistering starts I was well in the mix approaching the first turn. Thought I'd escaped any contact but I did get a small tap on the rear. No real harm done though and off I went in search of fame and glory. This optimism lasted until Mirabeau when I was hit again and this time I span and had to wait for all of Monaco and his wife and his dog to file past. Now in last place I set off to seek fame and fortune once more but alas all I found was Armco and crashing cars.

It seemed that I was always well placed to catch the aftermath of someone Else's collision/mistake and ended up driving into them. Still I had loads of fun and actually became quite quick with the Escort and found it a lot of fun to drive at this circuit.

Awesome turnout chaps. Keep on coming, we'll always be here.

Mark, love that grid shot

Shocked This track as in real life racing is pretty much impossible to pass on. You have to wait for the other guy to make a mistake. The chicane is very bumpy and I would not entertain trying to pass there.
