All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (32 laps)

Track: Mosport '67 Download this

Cars allowed: BMW 2002tii Download this, Porsche 911 RSR 3.0, Ford Escort RS 2000, Boss 302 Ford Mustang Download this

This race will be run using the UKGTL Skin Pack 1.8.0.0 and the Season 10 Skin Pack which will need to be installed prior to racing.

Drivers are reminded that the maximum number of drives in any car is four. Check your status here

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk GTC
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page

Special Notes: None

Replay and results now posted.

Sorry for the bad track. It has now been trashed.

A replacement track has now been found so we can still use this great venue in the future.

No worries Tony, I never gave it a thought until Mark spoke about it in practice.  Roll Eyes

Still the first race was an epic battle between 5 of us, once those Mustangs got in front they were really difficult to pass. All over them in the corners but once we got to the straight they were gone. Congrats to Mark & thanks to Senyorlobo, Berger & Navin for a great battle.

Second race was a bit of a disaster, spun 3 or 4 times & then rolled it & decided to call it a day.

Thanks all, cya next time.

First congratulate Mark for the win and Geoffers for the 2nd place.
It was a fun race. I think there were 6 cars with chances to win. A close battle until the unexpected race end.  Shocked
It was my first race with the bimmer and the truth is it's a very fun car. At first I struggled a bit keep the car in the line, but then I got to be a little faster, but sometimes it was hard to get the car into the curve.

Happy because GTLDK team go first in championship. Thanks Navin and Dario! A pleasure to run with you guys.

Cheers.

Another of my good night/bad nights.  Got the line sorted in practice with new PB, managed to hold it together for another PB  in qualifying.  Made reasonable start and chased Kurt for a while managed to slip by him near end of lap, had a battle for a while until I outbraked my self and spun right in front of him.  Sorry about that.  I set to chasing him and after a few laps set a number of PBs until I outbraked myself again and ran wide.  After that I really couldn't get settled again until the abrupt ending.

The second race didn't last more than a couple of corners when I deliberately spun to avoid a hitting a rejoining car,  finishing up in the Armco, ruining the front end.  Still able to get Horlicks early.

Wow, an action packed race from the get go. Lots of fun with all the different cars up front. Was great to have Jose and Kurt with us in this race. I hope you guys can join us for some more races in the very near future. Please check out the 50's series F12FIFT as I believe it is the best new thing that has come around for GTL in a long time  Wink. A very big congrats to Mark for getting the Boss to the finish line 1st!! Awesome job fighting almost the whole top 5 to the top spot. It was like tag team wrestling for first  Cheesy. Good stuff Grin.

Smiley First race was very sweet form my P6 to P1 in very few laps.  I got a really good start for once and passed arch rival Navin.  Grin Then pushed like hell with a few racers spinning and making mistakes found my self in P1!  Grin I new i was not the fastest guy in the race so it was a case of pace management making it as hard as possible for the Beamers, Escorts and Porsche to to pass in the sharp corners and waiting for the big straights. This had the effect of bunching the pack up which made it intense for at least the top six guys with everyone attacking each other. At least that's how it looked from my seat.  Wink I also was very aware of tyre management which was the second reason for not pushing through the bends to hard........And Yippee P1 and a wad of points.  Smiley

Smiley Race two with the pressure off I gave it death trying to catch Navin. Funny thing is the harder I push when racing Navin the slower I go. Its best to just try and stay with him and wait for the error that rarely comes!!  Wink  Still its such fun to drive this beastie slideways and that engine sound is so so good.....Finished P3.  Grin
