Double arrghh Charlie Brown for me Shocked.  When exiting I saw everyone else racing and thought the problem was only for me Embarrassed What a dope I am Tongue. Too bad as Kyalami has a great rhythm to it Cool

Yeah - I was wondering because I watched you racing in 2nd place after I was out and then disappearing  Huh

If ever there was a night that looked like being a cracker of a race this was it, yet sadly it all went Pete Tong.

A circuit that is always popular and a record turnout should have meant that everyone was going to get an exciting race but it was not to be.

Even before the lights went green we had lost several drivers due to internet witchcraft and one booting (which incidental was not done by me). Then as we set off and hit the first turn we had the usual mayhem. Messages started to appear saying that drivers couldn't see other cars so I red flagged the race. Unfortunately we did not get our lost drivers back for the 2nd start so with a reduced field we set off again.

Now maybe I shouldn't off stopped this 2nd race but it was the call I made, rightly or wrongly. Mark had forgotten his setup and there had been a couple of big crashes at and after turn one.

So the 2nd race was red flagged too.

With a further decreasing number of drivers the third race was started and this time I had to let it carry on as it was getting quite late by now.

Not the event I had hoped for.

Take heart those that missed out, you do get a free car choice now if nothing else. Hope you all come and try again when we visit Navin's home track next time.

Cheers

Yes I think the FFB varies from mod to mod. I'm sure your teamie Navin can help out with that hot tyre problem.

Thanks Navin - I'll look into it.

Thanks also to Tony for giving me a surprising 2nd (and 3rd  Wink ) chance to make this race.
When posting my comments here I saw that there would be a restart so I rejoined the game.
Unfortunately I was involved in the starting issue between Geoffers and Goldtop so I was
already back about 20 or 30 seconds after the first lap. I continued because riding the Stang
is real fun. After about 15 laps or so Tony lapped me and I lost control when leaving the "good line"
and crashed in a barrier destroying my left suspension but was able to go on with lower pace.
Intended to see the finish line but made another fault and burned the car right in the pits  Grin

Was suprised about the speed of Tony and Bill in the 02 during practice - well done!
I think I need to have a more intense look into the "76" cars.

See you on Thursday over at P&G  Smiley

Sad What do they say "When it rains it pours". Sorry about the set up problem guys. I had some close racing with Hristo in this event but new I had no real hope of beating him. The Beamer handles really nice so nice that you can over drive it and have such great fun but ultimately lose time. I eventually lost it into P1 mid race trying to close on Hristow I think we were about a second apart at the time. Then at the end of the race he says he was saving his tyres so my efforts were all in folly so very happy with P3 and not looking forward to driving the Porsche in later events.  Roll Eyes

I said I was saving them, but not too much. When you were out in front or were close to attack, it was impossible to keep you behind because you could brake so late with your BMW compared to my Porsche, so if you hadn't made a mistake I think it would've been a fight until the finish. I had a nice battle with BR in the final couple of laps and was lucky to recover from 2 offs that dropped me to 2nd, but I suppose BR had his tires in much worse condition by then after having to come back through the field due to his spin on the start.

It's Hristo, not Hristow.  Wink Hristow (or Hristov) would be a surname, hehe. And yes, we had a great battle from my point of view.
