Moderator's Report

Generally good behaviour by all on this server, with only 3 incidents requiring a further look.

The following drivers have been disqualified from the results as they joined the wrong server:

Hendy Nichols; Pierre D; Piero Mercaldo; Marco Mercaldo.

Please try and ensure that you join the right server as it mucks up the points and causes a lot of work :(

Server replay time: 0h01m22s

Roberto Vianna comes rattling in to the hairpin, brakes late, turns in for the apex....only to find Joe Whitfield already there and the available gap diminishing every millisecond. Joe was held up behind other cars at the corner, and really....was not expecting a passing attempt to come from so far back. The nearest Roberto got to overlap was 50% at the point he contacted Joe's door. I'm not even sure this was a bona fide passing attempt, or more a case of Rob outbraking himself.
The rules state:
Simple Ambitious Overtake: The overtaking car had NOT achieved a 50% or greater overlap at the point of turn-in. There was no loss of control by either driver. Penalty for overtaking driver.

Penalty: 1 place lost, plus 1 extra place for first lap incident.

Server replay time: 0h01m25s

Paul Markey gives it a bit of welly exiting the hairpin and immediately contracts a serious case of tank slapper disease. As he fights to regain control, an unlucky Johnny O arrives at the scene, without lights and siren, and manages to nail the moving target. (How did he do that?) Both spin off and both rejoin safely undamaged.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 0h01m41s

Raoni has to take to the grass to avoid the back of Sven's Porsche at the esses. He smashes through the 3 story hedge in his path and makes a bee-line for the track, arriving there at 38mph. Surprise!!...he pops out of the grassland onto the asphalt ribbon, directly in front of Pedro whom has nowhere to go and gets bludgeoned off the circuit. This is a shocking rejoin from someone with Raoni's experience.
The rules have this: Appallingly Bad Rejoin
The rejoining driver was in full control and drove straight back onto the racing line without any consideration for other drivers and contact was made.

Penalty 3 places, plus 1 for a first lap incident

Moderator's Report

A pretty clean RED ZONE and some good close racing at a pretty good circuit for the Porkas. Some incidents that could have attracted penalties but the drivers are all in generous mood and I am too!

Server replay time: 0h01m08s

Marco tries to tuck in behind Cookie but gets it wrong and clips Axel's rear. This might attract a penalty as it was somewhat careless but Axel has asked for the penalty to be waived and it was careless and/or a misjudgement rather than ungentlemanly. Penalty waived

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 0h01m34s

Jason and Fulvio touch. Horrible bit of warp puts Fulvio into Jason. Jason spins and Fulvio's race is done. Unfortunate.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 0h05m48s

Geoff gets a good run on Fran but Fran takes the space Geoff needs to slow down and gets whacked amidships. Fran did nothing wrong but Geoff was doin all he could to avoid the incident. Nonetheless the onus is on the driver behind to avoid the collision.

The rules have this: "The victim made no mistakes and was driving their normal line at normal speed. The shunter had lost control on the approach to the braking zone and consequently braked later than intended." This would normally attract a penalty but as with the earlier incident between Marco and Axel, Fran has asked for no penalty to be applied. The penalty is mitigated to a warning.

Fran could have helped Geoff by not taking such a tight line at the corner. That effectively cut Geoff's braking zone to 0.

Drivers are reminded that in a Pro race it is in their own interests to leave a little more room than might be the case when hot-lapping.

Server replay time: 0h15m13s

I can't do better than Phil's description: Francesco clips the grass on the quick right hander which unsettled his car in the braking zone. Consequently he couldn't slow down enough and rear-ends Phil.

The rules have this: "The victim made no mistakes and was driving their normal line at normal speed. The shunter had lost control on the approach to the braking zone and consequently braked later than intended."

Guess what? Phil has asked for no penalty and I am happy to comply, but as with Geoff, a warning is in order.

Server replay time: 0h45m31s

Phil, Fran and Marco are having a busy race and get in a tangle figting for position. Marco tries to pass Fran and loses speed as he aborts the move. Phil gets ahead but Marco loses control as he tries to maintain position and clips Phil. They both spin out. That's racing!

M. Rainier - as far as I could see the password at the top of the page was 'dud' and the password in the next box down was 'pete'. Was that the same for you? It should have been. That meant that the password for Server 1 was 'dud' and for Server 2 'pete'. It should have been clear but maybe we can make the passwords Password1 and Password2 so that they are different but it is clear which server they apply to. I'll chat to Geoff.

Mr Blood  Wink  - Yes I just looked at the top of the page, that was the reason why I didn't see "Pete" !
Next time, I will make more attention so no need for you to change anything !

or maybe, just one thing : people for server1 should only see pwd for server1, and the same for server2. That will avoid any connection to the wrong server ...or any switch to the otherr server like Pierre D. did (I don't think it is authorized !!)

In IGOR it is possible to filter the race list so that it doesn't show PRO races (look at Filtering at the bottom of the race list).

I think you have mainly raced in intermediate races so far but the PSC is PRO.  Have you got the PRO ticked?

You can call me Paul Wink

The difficulty is that people want to see the results for the round in one place - to allow people to only see one password we would need two race threads.

Overall a good raace for me. I was very happy to simply see my car over the finish line!!! I experienced some damage in my car after t1 in the first lap, due to some very unlucky circumstances... But hey it's one of those things in GPL. I had some great battles with Paul M, Stefano, and Pierre. Oh yeah and Clive !  Wink Well done Clive, again well driven

As usual, I'll host some practice sessions for Sepang PSC during these 10 days preceding the official race. Just take a glance at my server on iGOR if you like to try this nice track or if you wanna trim your setup.

Bye
