Moderator's Report
The GT races seem to bring out the best behaviour in the drivers and this race was no exception. Spa certainly favoured those cars with power and the much maligned Mk2 showed its pace on this fast circuit.
Only one reported incident and that a minor racing contact, but there was an unfortunate rejoin/reset by Alex Baressi at Stavelot. I have reviewed this incident below.
There was one incident involving several drivers on the exit of Stavelot.
Alex Baressi had run wide and found himself on the grass with a blown engine. GPL allowed him to complete a Shift/R which placed him almost exactly upon the racing line on the exit of the corner. Unfortunately the MK2 Ford is not famous for its acceleration fom a standing start and Alex was barely under way when 3 cars exited Stavelot at full bore.
The replay clearly shows the whole incident and the resultant carnage.
From the position where Alex found himself after his accident, he could not see the approaching cars. GPL "allowed" him to reset, but this placed him in the worst possible position for the cars behind.
No-one has reported this incident, so I am assuming that everyone involved is viewing as I am and it is a racing incident.
- Alex Barresi — advice — Shift/R on the exit of Stavelot
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded
Server replay time: 0h11m01s
Side by side contact between Phil Thornton and Sky.
It seems that Sky was having some connection problems and was seen to be warping badly at times. At one point on the server replay his Porsche clearly drives completely off the circuit, through a house and a wire fence and then magically re-appears 100 mtrs further on in the middle of the track!!.
Phil did give Sky plenty of room and I cannot apply any penalty here in view of the warp situation.
Racing incident
General advice to all drivers is to allow as much room as possible when attempting a pass on cars that are warping badly.
