All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (20 laps)

Track: Virginia International Raceway Download this

Cars allowed: Shelby Cobra Pack Download this, Shelby Cobra 289/427.

Car restrictions: Rank 1 to 8 - 240kW or 261kW spec Cobra's
Rank 9 to 16 - any of the above plus 320kW or 354kW spec Cobra's

This race will use the UKGTL Skin Pack 1.8.0.0.

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk SCC
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page

Special Notes: None

Not sure whether I'll make this one.

New track for me and away over the weekend without PC/Internet - so no time for practicing.

But maybe it's easier than I expect.

If it's the same track that I've raced in UKGPL, then it's quite a difficult one to master, but relatively easy to learn the layout.

Running at 9/10th's pace this place is a joy to drive. At 10/10th's it's as tough as they get. Truly a big boy track. Scary super technical fast corners with weird curbing that you will have to use if you want a fast fast lap. Then mixed with very awkward increasing radius slow corners that will drive you nuts. Anyone wants to reach the end should put some practice time in here Wink

Back home - thanks guys - installed and recognized the track. Embarrassing  Roll Eyes.

I think I never drove a race here before, but did some practice laps with some cars
from GC MuscleCarLeague a long time ago.

However - try to practice tonight and I'll be there tomorrow

We used this once before, but the short track rather than this layout.
I am managing 2:15s on race fuel at the moment, but have only manged to complete 2 or 3 laps
without losing it somewhere....  Roll Eyes

Same here - 2.21s for me in a 289 up to now in one of my rare laps I could complete  Roll Eyes.

I just did my first couple of laps and worked on setup. It's quite challenging to put a clean lap together, but that makes it fun! I've uploaded my setup if anyone wants to try it out (it's for the 261 kW Cobra).

Smiley That was a fun race................but who tipped me over? I look forward to the replay.  Grin Ade and I managed to mug both Nav and H on lap 4 ish when they had a little falling out, we were both on TS and a big cheer went up,  Grin its just a pity it did not last. Still had some great racing with Phspok and Tony. You were both going really well and I had fun chasing you down. Unfortunately when I closed on Tony into T3 he went off. I was so looking forward to a close battle with you Tony.  Undecided Some laps later it all went pear shaped for me when I found I could no longer keep it flat after the bridge though the wiggly bits and had a massive off much to Phspok delight. It then happened again a few laps later but I managed to close on Phspok but not enough laps left for another battle.....shame  Smiley

PS Taken off by my own team mate.....How rude!!!  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Still it went miles up side down......No wonder he cleared off probably though I was dead.  Wink Grin

Considering I 1: don't much like Cobras, and 2: I am goldfish in them I seem to be doing quite well so far...
and the next event is GreenHell   Muhahahahahahahahaaaaaa
I love it there, but usually don;t finish.

Good race, managed to out qual Mark, though my race pace was more cautious, if Hristo hadn;t have bumped him who knows  Shocked
but as it was I fell off less so stayed in front.

Yeah, sorry about it, Mark! I wasn't planning on passing there but the car didn't stop as well as I expected it, but I still managed to keep the inside line. I guess you just wasn't expecting me to be there and so contact was made. Sadly you flipped over, even if it was a rather light touch. Go figure...

@Navin NP, I sort of followed your line and braking point, ended up losing it as well and spun you around. Shame about your off afterwards, though I must say it seemed quite spectacular as you went so high up the air lol.
