All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (4 laps)

Track: 1970's Nurburgring (Nordschleife) Download this

Cars allowed: Shelby Cobra Pack Download this, Shelby Cobra 289/427.

Car restrictions: Rank 1 to 8 - 240kW or 261kW spec Cobra's
Rank 9 to 16 - any of the above plus 320kW or 354kW spec Cobra's

This race will use the UKGTL Skin Pack 1.8.0.0.

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk SCC
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page

Special Notes: None

Just managed a 9.53.3 in the 260 Cobra. 9.56.8 in the 289FIA so far.

Any times for comparison already?

Guys - pay attention if you have to leave the track at the Kallenhard corner - will end up in nirvana.
If you leave the track just before the Breidscheid bridge you can go on the normal road under the bridge and get back on track via the visitor vehicle access  Roll Eyes

Thanks to Hristo's se tup I could improve to 9.39.2, which should be a quite realistic time
- thanks again Hristo  Smiley

Here you can find "real" times from the 1000km race 1964 (#95, #96, #101 - with pics,
#99 - without pic):

http://www.racingsportscars.com/photo/Nurburgring-1964-05-31.html

In 1965 there was no improvement for the snakes but the faster Cobra Daytona's arrived,
in 1966 there was still one Cobra over there, reaching 9.29.8 in practice (#53):

See you tomorrow  Cool

I did just one flier today, was a 9:12 I think, but there is definitely room for improvement. It's quite a pleasure to drive this car around The Ring.

Seems that the simulation GTL is faster than the racers were way back in the sixties  Smiley

Yeah it's a real pleasure to drive this track - hope to watch some more races at the Nordschleife

Nah, it's mostly the track which differs from reality. It's a GPL conversion and GPL's Nurburgring is not very realistic, plus we don't have varying surface conditions or properly modeled micro-bumps. I don't know how realistic the car is modeled, but it feels rather real.
