Oh, Happy Birthday, Navin!

Tony, how come no records for the track from this race? I can't see any old records either, as if this class of cars don't count towards records?

Damn, not the best way our Team could celebrate the birthday of NRJ  Undecided think we can say that everything went wrong  Shocked ...but we have fun  Grin

Grats Hristo (Grr) & Mark (Grrr)  Tongue

Race:
Did the start perfectly & was in front, but wanted NRJ up front (best for points) & was not sure what I could do  Huh
Chose to put me behind Hristo & save tires...unfortunately I went too far down in speed & had to use more tires again (doomed) to make contact again with Hristo. Falls a little too hard into the hole in the oval & out in the woods (but no birthday party here) Mark passes. Last lap, not much I can do, but I try a braking duel to Parabolica...went wrong  Roll Eyes (Grrrr)
Thanks for an entertaining race - it's not about winning...it's about being with - we say in Denmark (Grrrr)  Wink

Thanks fellas for the Birthday wishes Cool. As for the race report I wish I could say it was anything other then another case of brain fade. Lost it on the banking and killed the motor. Simple as that Wink Good fun while it lasted though Grin. Conrats to Hristo for the win. Also grats to Mark for a strong performance today. And good job to Pelle for hanging in there for 3rd. Wish I found that party in the woods Pelle Wink but I made the most of my early exit with a nice trip to the beach with the dog Smiley. Cheers

You should have known we were the only ones who would battle for victory based on the lap times in Qualifying, Pelle. The only one who was close was Mark and he kept up with us for quite some time indeed, but then unfortunately dropped off. Oh and, it's about winning. Wink  Grin

Thanks Tony for that, it was certainly different and required full concentration for virtually entire lap due to high speeds.  Did much better than expected, had the offs but managed to avoid crashing into the barriers and killing the car.  Qualified as well as I'd achieved in pratice and managed a race lap faster than qualifying, must have been Tony pushing me.  devil Had 2 big moments coming off the banking,  eek scared first my fault pushing too had to try and close gap to SpecialKS (only other 289 version racing) the other was Tony assisted.  Roll Eyes no  thumbdown In both cases able to catch car broadside on grass/shrub and scrub off speed without any damage.  sweatdrop thumbup1

Late Happy Birthday for yesterday Navin, assume you had decent weather for walking dog - after our brief summer we appear to be into autumn.

How about next time we have an oval race, holding it on just the oval part of this track with the post 1955 cars.  Should be interesting.

We do have an oval race coming next in this series. And we are racing this circuit in the 1955 cars in October. However I don't think that this circuit is available with just the oval track on it's own.

Was in a good shape with the 289 and in comfortable position ahead of Bill and Tony, could slightly
improve my pb and was on my way to another improvement to the 3:12's when - as usual once in a
session at the moment - I lost control about steering and pedals at Rettifilo Centro and had to leave and rejoin the game via task manager Huh Angry Sad.
When I came back Bill and Tony had easily passed  Sad and I could not avoid a crash in Parabolica but was able to reach the pits for repairing.
After that I was able to do some laps in the 3:13's again when I left the track at the beginning of Curva Nord but fortunately I was able to find a way back on track.
Then I realized that I had to do my 8th lap for a second time due to my crash because the counter did not go on, I lost motivation/concentration and crashed for good  Grin

I assume that the cause of my control problems lies in my reinstall of the G25 after my latest computer crash and I have to make another new install of it if I find the time  Sad
Otherwise I possibly will be subscribed for last place  Wink

Smiley Happy Birthday again Navin....I felt a bit guilty when I passed you in the race!!!  Undecided  I was thinking should I slow down a bit and give Nav his place back as its his birthday.  Wink  When we both settled into the same lap times with a 5 sec gap I thought Navin will soon catch me up when my tyres go off.....and then you disappeared DNF.  Undecided  Sad

Pelle and Hristo were then around 15 sec up the road and I started to doze off....zzzzzzzzzzzzz!! Cool  Woke up when I caught Tony and then gob smacked to see Pelle in a cloud of dust in the oval.  Shocked  I new Pelle would go for broke at the Para so left my braking late and sure enough he spun.  Cheesy Really pleased with P2 as I don't have much luck driving these trucks.  Grin

Cheers Guys.
