Moderator's Report

Generally good behaviour by all on this server, with only 3 incidents requiring a further look.

The following drivers have been disqualified from the results as they joined the wrong server:

Hendy Nichols; Pierre D; Piero Mercaldo; Marco Mercaldo.

Please try and ensure that you join the right server as it mucks up the points and causes a lot of work :(

Server replay time: 0h01m22s

Roberto Vianna comes rattling in to the hairpin, brakes late, turns in for the apex....only to find Joe Whitfield already there and the available gap diminishing every millisecond. Joe was held up behind other cars at the corner, and really....was not expecting a passing attempt to come from so far back. The nearest Roberto got to overlap was 50% at the point he contacted Joe's door. I'm not even sure this was a bona fide passing attempt, or more a case of Rob outbraking himself.
The rules state:
Simple Ambitious Overtake: The overtaking car had NOT achieved a 50% or greater overlap at the point of turn-in. There was no loss of control by either driver. Penalty for overtaking driver.

Penalty: 1 place lost, plus 1 extra place for first lap incident.

Server replay time: 0h01m25s

Paul Markey gives it a bit of welly exiting the hairpin and immediately contracts a serious case of tank slapper disease. As he fights to regain control, an unlucky Johnny O arrives at the scene, without lights and siren, and manages to nail the moving target. (How did he do that?) Both spin off and both rejoin safely undamaged.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 0h01m41s

Raoni has to take to the grass to avoid the back of Sven's Porsche at the esses. He smashes through the 3 story hedge in his path and makes a bee-line for the track, arriving there at 38mph. Surprise!!...he pops out of the grassland onto the asphalt ribbon, directly in front of Pedro whom has nowhere to go and gets bludgeoned off the circuit. This is a shocking rejoin from someone with Raoni's experience.
The rules have this: Appallingly Bad Rejoin
The rejoining driver was in full control and drove straight back onto the racing line without any consideration for other drivers and contact was made.

Penalty 3 places, plus 1 for a first lap incident

Moderator's Report

A pretty clean RED ZONE and some good close racing at a pretty good circuit for the Porkas. Some incidents that could have attracted penalties but the drivers are all in generous mood and I am too!

Server replay time: 0h01m08s

Marco tries to tuck in behind Cookie but gets it wrong and clips Axel's rear. This might attract a penalty as it was somewhat careless but Axel has asked for the penalty to be waived and it was careless and/or a misjudgement rather than ungentlemanly. Penalty waived

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 0h01m34s

Jason and Fulvio touch. Horrible bit of warp puts Fulvio into Jason. Jason spins and Fulvio's race is done. Unfortunate.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 0h05m48s

Geoff gets a good run on Fran but Fran takes the space Geoff needs to slow down and gets whacked amidships. Fran did nothing wrong but Geoff was doin all he could to avoid the incident. Nonetheless the onus is on the driver behind to avoid the collision.

The rules have this: "The victim made no mistakes and was driving their normal line at normal speed. The shunter had lost control on the approach to the braking zone and consequently braked later than intended." This would normally attract a penalty but as with the earlier incident between Marco and Axel, Fran has asked for no penalty to be applied. The penalty is mitigated to a warning.

Fran could have helped Geoff by not taking such a tight line at the corner. That effectively cut Geoff's braking zone to 0.

Drivers are reminded that in a Pro race it is in their own interests to leave a little more room than might be the case when hot-lapping.

Server replay time: 0h15m13s

I can't do better than Phil's description: Francesco clips the grass on the quick right hander which unsettled his car in the braking zone. Consequently he couldn't slow down enough and rear-ends Phil.

The rules have this: "The victim made no mistakes and was driving their normal line at normal speed. The shunter had lost control on the approach to the braking zone and consequently braked later than intended."

Guess what? Phil has asked for no penalty and I am happy to comply, but as with Geoff, a warning is in order.

Server replay time: 0h45m31s

Phil, Fran and Marco are having a busy race and get in a tangle figting for position. Marco tries to pass Fran and loses speed as he aborts the move. Phil gets ahead but Marco loses control as he tries to maintain position and clips Phil. They both spin out. That's racing!

Of course you can.......you're registered under Team Godzilla. Do you have a third driver in mind?
You will be Server 2.

Ehm ... it's our fate that we cause misunderstanding when try to enter in this champ.
I go to substitute Tom Guérout and Mark75 would participate at place of another absent, both in quality of freelance drivers (Team Godzilla exist only for the GT, ignore him).
The PSC Regulation allows to involve other 3 drivers per team to make races during season, and this would be our case.
We are in chat before race, see you later.

Sry Jason for the contact at lap 1, not a great show by myself.  Sad

After having spent many of the qualy time to join the server, it was saying it was full, I struggled to do a clean lap and at last attempt I had a contact with Fran, sry.

I'll comfort myself tomorrow with the Rally show at Monza. Loeb, Capello, Sordo, Dovizioso and Valentino will give some fun  Smiley

After doing a 1.33 at the very beginning of the practice, I realized that my chances of getting closer to my 1.30 were very slim. Once everybody got started, there was a car every 200 yards and I spent more time watching either Pribluda or my mirror than actually looking at the track.  With still some time on the clock, I decided to leave to fix a display problem and I was told the server was full when I tried to get back.

I switched to server2 and I started at the back. I had decided that I would quit if I was in the way . Well, I didn't have any rhythm and it didn't take long for the leaders to catch me. I spun at low speed in the esses and unfortunately got in the way of someone I want to apologize to.  I quit on the spot.

I don't belong to this championship. I was contacted to be the reserve novice on a team and that was OK for me. There is some fun to be had mixing talents on long tracks like Spa or Le Mans but it becomes a nightmare on small tracks like East London.

Anyway, if this championship comes after some other race in some other league for some team leaders, I don't feel I should be missed too much.  I will spend more time in the 65 championship where I belong.

Have a good time.

My fault... it wont get any better until you kick me out of team...

Had no space to do a good time at the (second) qualify and ended last... Fulvio went somwhere at the first lap, so no chance of full team finish...Got rearended at lap 3 by some guy with italian name...ended last again... then I didnt care anymore... did several laps...span several times...parked car at pits and left...

A very eventful race for me.  Had several battles throughout the race but I went wide a few times which dropped me back.  Early dices were with Geoff and HappyAl (A Baldwin), we were all of pretty similar pace so any overtaking was usually down to mistakes.  Geoff and Al dropped out and the rest of the race was a big fight with Marco Mercaldo whilst trying not to take out my team mate Fran.  We circulated as a trio for several laps trying to get the better of each other when the leaders started to lap us with about 8 laps to go.  It got pretty hectic but thankfully none of the leaders got taken out.  It looked pretty close at times.

With about 6 laps to go Marco tried to get up the inside of Fran on the last corner; he didn't make it and ran slightly wide leaving the door open for me.  I sneaked past on the inside but as we accelerated away Marco got a bit sideways and we touched (racing incident IMO but I'll submit a report anyway).  We both ended up spinning off and loosing touch with Fran.  I then went wide at the first hairpin (turn 3) and Marco got past me again.  Then half a lap later we came across Fran, motionless after his Porsche engine had expired Sad.  Very unfair after such a great drive.  I then had to chase Marco down who had got a 2 0r 3 second lead with only a couple of laps to go.  I tried my hardest to catch up and I got very close, almost along side on the last corner but I had to back off and hope Marco went wide under the pressure.  He didn't and my last chance was to get a better exit and beat him to the line but I gave it too much throttle and spun.  By the time I got going again, Jason had nicked the place from me  taz

Grats to ArfArfArf on a good result and some decent points for the team.  Unlucky Fran, you were driving well!

Had some fps problems with the GT mod, and had to run at really low res to get it to run smoothly. As a result I couldn't use the mirrors and prib at the same time. So sorry to anyway who I didn't move out of the way in time as I couldn't see you coming.

As for the race, it was going OK for me. I was keeping it on the track OK and my times were OK. After a few problems there were a little que of cars behind me. I was having fun keeping my lines and keeping them behind me, but the my engine went on the 910 Sad I've driven more and harder laps in pratice than I did in the race, so it must of just been random.

Well I am glad you are all enjoying the racing. I have just finished the imports and it is a bit of a nightmare. Didn't even get to drive as we can't get the two PCs sorted Sad

We actually had all 21 drivers turn up for Server 1 but Pierre couldn't join and Hendy joined the wrong server (which helped). I will need to talk to Geoff about what we do about that. We may need to have a 'floating' team that is not assigned to a server.

PLEASE READ THE RACE THREAD. Once again, several drivers thought the password was wrong - it wasn't. YOU MUST KNOW IN ADVANCE WHICH SERVER YOU JOIN AND WHAT THE PASSWORD IS. Would it help if we had two race threads? Problem with that is that you cannot see all the results in one place.

As always, replay is available here. Just select the PSC series and select the Server you were on. Analysis is available if you click on the Archive name.

That analysis is available directly from here for Server 1 and here for Server 2.

The Replay .rar files are available here for Server 1 and here for Server 2.

Waaaaaaaaaw Grin , what was it a close nice/battle race with Evil and Axel .
Me on 3 place Axel 2 pl and in front/1 there was Evil .
Phew..... for many laps we sticked together unbelievably never done such a close race .
This al went well until Evil was hit by a driver who we where lapping .
Damn , i tought , bad luck for Evil because he deserved to stick with us but at that time i didn't knew what i would know later .
One thing I've read in the rules of UKGPL is .... when someone gonna be passed please place your self on the side so the faster drivers can continue there race .
So the race continue between Axel and me woooooow also close situations funfunfun;
Yup .... now it was my turn to be  crassed by the same driver who crassed into Evil  .
I tried to continue the race but my wheels decided to go in all directions except the directions i wanted .
Also my engine didn't want to stop so i almost crassed in the driver who crassed in to me lucky i touched nobody .
End of the race for me and disappointed ach ..... it was so much fun out there at East londen .
A big congrats to Evil for taken the first place anyway , and second place for Axel and third for Raoni
Infact for the three guy's/drivers who made it on the podium .
Like always thanks for the server and race see you guy's at Sepang .

What a weird race......

I should be glad that I finally finished one, but ended up frustrated. In the first few laps I was chasing someone who was warping so badly that I was scared to get too close, and spun avoiding them when they started appearing and disappearing all over the place. That put me behind Maxime and Cookie, although Maxime slid off. For the next few I chased Axel round, although he too appeared to be warping a lot. I nearly got passed him once or twice, but our pace was too close for there to be a real chance.

Then 2 things happened. First the warping stopped. Then Axel started to drive away from me and there was nothing I could do about it. Soon after Maxime passed me as if I wasn't there, and Roberto Teso would have too if he hadn't lost it and spun at a corner. I became convinced that I had some power loss due to gremlins, but I don't get a mention in the post race mechanical report. All I know is that Axel and Maxime were pulling away from me lap after lap, where previously we were all lapping at the same pace. By now all I could manage was mid 127s, so I just settled down to try and make it to the line and take some points for the team. Nice to see everyone in Super Pastit Porsche made it home - well done lads!

Highlight of the evening was coming out from behind Axel just after the first corner with vague thoughts of passing only to find a stationary car exactly where I wanted to go - that certainly got the blood going. Axel had taken a very wide line to avoid the spinner, and I probably could have got past him, but wasn't sure if it would have been legal, given the spin, so backed off. I think it was the only way I was ever getting past him tonight....

See you at Sepang

Wow, I was a little disappointed, I was not forcing the car, was walking within my possibilities, easily followed my compatriot Du Fossa at the end of lap 3, falls to my teammate, Peter Berg, who had been delayed but was much faster, and when to accelerate again to resume speed, the engine exploded.
Too bad, because he trained hard and was pretty comfortable on the circuit.
Thanks Sven for the setup was great.
 Congratulations to all.
 We will meet at Sepang

PLEASE READ THE RACE THREAD. Once again, several drivers thought the password was wrong - it wasn't. YOU MUST KNOW IN ADVANCE WHICH SERVER YOU JOIN AND WHAT THE PASSWORD IS.

I cannot understand what happened.
As my English language understanding is far to be good, I read several times the topic and finally it was clear for me :
I had to connect the server 2 with password dud  (now the race is over, I think I can write the passwords), so I tried 3 times to connect but every time I got a "wrong password" message !!!
Finally, an administrator/moderator told me the right pwd was Pete !!

So could you explain what was wrong ?

About the race itself, it was a terrible battle with Matti/Zampedri and Pedro VDBerg. I spun one time and lost around 10 sec. Then I was not able to overtake Matti who had a lot of lags !
I also had problems to overtake some cars when I took them one lap Sad
Grats to Clive   for his great victory !
