All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (24 laps)

Track: Oulton Park v1.0 Download this

Cars allowed: Triumph TR4  Download this
                     Triumph pack Download this

Car restrictions: No Restrictions

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk TTT
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page
(4) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

Arrghh Mark.. My PC has started to limp around a bit as well. Just started the process of getting up to speed on all things PC after ...If you can believe this.. Over 12 years with the same motherboard and CPU combo. I'm even on like 6 years on this OS install Shocked. And yes it's XP still so I guess I'll be a Windows 8 user in the near future. Not looking forward to the big switch so good luck with your troubles Mark Wink

Navin, if you have a desktop PC I'd give Windows 8 a wide berth mate. It's primary function seems to be focused on touch screen devices. Do some looking around (reviews etc) and you'll see what I mean.

Yes Tony, I've been reading all the scuttlebutt about Windows 8 with it's touch screen based system. The good thing is most company's will still sell Windows 7 computers at least for a few months so I may just go that way if Windows 8 does turn out to be a stinker for mouse based PC's. 8 Releases this week so I'll have my ear to the ground and make a decision in due time to get Windows 7 if that is the way to go. But thanks for the heads up T Wink. Cheers

Thanks Tony for excellent Car/Track combo - all 3 cars in the race were within about 1.3 secs a lap, a shame we didn't get more competitors.  Congrats also on pole and win. I tried both GT6 and TR4, GT6 went well straight out of the box but the TR4 was more disturbed by too much kerb.  The GT6 was a joy to drive and almost led to my downfall.

Made a poor start ran too tight up behind Tony and had to lift allowing Kurt by.  Passed him on Lap 1 and chased the leaders, all went well until about mid race (I'd put in a string of new PBs and faster than qualifying laps).  I got too confident and out braked myself finishing up against the barrier, luckily no damage done.  In re joining I boo boobed and went the wrong way, by the time I got my warning and turned around a 20 odd sec lead turned into a 10 to 12 sec deficit.  I chased Kurt but my driving was very ragged and I just couldn't string a series of good laps together. Luckily, for me, Kurt made a mistake allowing me to overtake him and I managed to settle down and pull away and got the lead up to about 20 sec by the start of the last lap and duly finished 3rd (a hollow one with only 4 starters).

Come on folks support Tony in all his hard work.

Just managed to beat Navin's qually time in the last minute of qually  sweatdrop. Sat on pole position feeling very pleased with myself  ninja.

Forgot to select first gear and sat on the line as the lights went green  Hit with a wet fish. This gave Navin the lead and off he went. I managed to keep within about 4secs of him and followed him for a couple of laps. Then as he approached Druids Corner he made contact with the RH kerb and span off the track  oops, which gave me a decent lead which I maintained for the remainder of the race.

First win in GTL and that Champagne tasted gooooood  drool.
