Cheesy Was no use, JPV. Both fronts were punctured and front wing gone. Nice of you to try to get me back on track but the car just would go. Grin No hard feelings, was a nice side by side action. Don't let this discourage you, nice to have you racing with us. Smiley  This car is too clumsy, especially with me driving. Kind of like GT1 Marcos. Cheesy

Good turn out and decent race, though shame my usual sparring partners left early.

Had a good first half despite a noobie error on lap 2 with cold tyres that dropped me to the back, but was fun chasing everyone to get back upto 7th and thats where i finished after a bit of a lonely 2nd half with nobody in front or behind close enough for last 25mins.

Congrats to [email protected] sure how you beat Jon M and Manteos !  Shocked

I had a nice qually session and ended up with pole which I wasn't expecting tbh. I think others were faster and this showed in the race.

Wow, what can I say about the race. The first half was an amazing 4 car scrap. I was in front to start but Truetom, H@L and Manteos were all quicker than me. There was some good racing between everyone with a few errors that left H@L in the lead. I did feel sorry for Manteos in his F430, it is soooo weak down the straights compared to the...Morgan!!! There were a couple of slides and contacts that all went in my favour with TT and Mant coming togeter and then TT and JPV. This changed the race from probably finishing 4th to getting 3rd or 2nd. My own race was littered with errors from crashing on the entrance of the pits to running off in the last turn, it was quite a poor show from me today. The only reason I finished 2nd was because of Manteos' mechanical problems and just to make things worse for him the Morgan powered past the F430 by less than 0.1(0.029 Shocked)  on the finish line. It was a very exciting finish for me but I felt for Manteos because he deserved the postion for a good drive.

H@L on the other hand was the class of the field and fully deserved his win Cool
Grats H@L Cool
Nice racing all

Thanks mate. Me neither. Shocked

Great race for me (of course Grin).

Very close and hard fighting with Manteos, TT and Jon up until the pit stop where I seemed to gain a lot of time. I did come in way too hot and I must have been very close to getting a drive through for speeding in the pit lane. I thought that it was 48mph for some reason. My race was a bit quiet after that.

Thanks all and well done.

See you next time. Smiley

Give some power to the Prancing Horse please!!!

I tried a lot of cars before the race, and I decided to move away from the tooooo fast 911 GT3 RS, but I bet on the wrong (prencing) horse  Grin

Didn't noticed the difference in terms of speed with the RS before the race, but with splitter 2 and wing 3, this car is too much slower than the others. I would prefere a worse handling in place of an underpowered engine, but there are circa 13-14 km/h difference at the end of the straight here between the RS and the 430... a bit too much thinking about the reality, and considering I was driving the 911 RS with a click more on the rear wing.

However, talking about the race, I enjoyed it a lot in the first 10-12 laps, even if I had no chance to attack, and only the chance to defend the position was pulling the brakings and pushing a lot in every corner.
I was in a good 3rd position, close to H@l and Jon at lap 11 or 12, but I braked touching the grass, and my car inevitably spun. In that moment Truetom was coming, but he had no time to react to avoid me, so we had a bad crash, and my rear left suspention has succumbed, without considering the aero damage.
The omelette was done! In the subsequent 2 laps, I stayed on the track, just to see if the car was still drivable... and in fact it was possible to bring it to the checkered flag. So I decided not to repair aero and suspention, and I even not changed my worned soft tyres, that was the only good compound to have some chances to compete with the guys in front, and their "beasts".
I came back on track in 2nd position, but my pace was really different by the first half of the race. Jon, that probably changed at least 2 tyres, was gaining on me more than 2 seconds per lap, and lap by lap, my tyres were always worse. Luckily for me, Jon had a "distraction" at the last corner, with 5 or 6 laps to go, so I tried to be more consistent than fast, but it was every lap more difficult. He replaced his 18 seconds gap at the last corner of the last lap, and the useless Fiat Punto Evo engine did the rest Cheesy Cheesy
Grats to Jon for his great tenacity and a deserved 2nd place. Grats to H@l for a great race!
Sorry TT, but I couldn't do nothing about our crash Sad

Cu for the next, but never more with a F430, especially in circuits with long straights. This car is good only in some kart tracks  Grin Grin

As was already said, there was a good scrap going on in the first half with Jon, Manteos and H@l. I even got to be first for half a lap, thanks to the crazy top speed of ViperCC. w00t Cold shower then, from hero to zero in one corner. Cheesy Was 4th then and closing again on the first three when Manteos spun and was sitting on track, couldn't avoid and crashed into him. I guess it was one of those real situations when you can only watch and grab your member to keep it safe. Wink Lost my front or so it felt. As it was close to half and would pit in the next lap anyway I went to make repairs and change tyres, get some fuel, a sandwich... Came out after JPV who didn't pit yet and so we were in direct duel. Nice side by side action ended in a collision and both of us quitting. Sad Again, no hard feelings, JPV. Smiley Would be interesting to see the second part of 4 way racing from the first half, though it may be JPV saved me from humiliation. Tongue

Nice to see server with a bit more people on. Smiley

Very dissapointed, I just couldnt get on with F430, had no confidence in braking, no temps in the tyres, car didnt like going through the corners abd i just couldnt improve it Angry So with 8 mins to go till qually i decided to just jump in the 997 as i normally can drive it straight away, but jumping back in i felt like a complete noob, falling off, trying to avoid people, and never quite managed to sort the braking out either. The race carried on in the same vein, and after falling off multiple times my level of enjoyment had completely vanished and decided to quit in frustration.

Dont know if it was just the cars or the track :'(

Bring back GTR2!

Same problem as Spanner, but worse I think.
I tried my usual F430, then the BMW because it's born to turn corners (but not here apparently) & lastly the Viper. They all just understeered off at every turn. After 50 mins driving, I'd not completed a lap & was quite frustrated.
I'd made all of them massively more oversterry setup wise than I would normally drive with, but it had little effect. So I restarted my PC in hope it would help. Nope!

It was just not drivable, so I exited out & tried iRacing to check if it was a proper problem with my G25. Worked perfectly! Huh

I really have no idea what was going on with GTR2. It was like the wheel was turning half of what i wanted & was delayed doing it Angry, but I've made no changes to my wheel for a couple of months & it was fine last week Huh.

Nice to see the good turnout, shame I couldn't be part of it.

That's the problem, it wasn't setup TT. I made it stupidly oversteery (on paper) & still it just kept understeering off or occaisionally treated me to a shock spin Roll Eyes

Don't know what was wrong. Hope it's back to normal next week. Undecided

was it the cold track temperatures? It was making the track very understeery, especially in the tight corners.  I had real problems getting any heat in the tyres, front or rear despite messing about with pressures.

I'd only managed about an half hour practise session before this race on sunday afternoon, so got what i deserved in terms of pace, but enjoyed the racing fix all the same.  Smiley

Hello everyone, new guy here.  I have been practicing for this race, but at an average lap of 2:20, I will not be attending this one.  I have been playing this game with assists, and have learned that it is a whole different game on simulation.   Grin  I did want to drop a line here and introduce myself.  I will continue to hit the tracks and, hopefully  join you guys in some races soon.

Welcome.

The GTC class is a good place to start. I recommend trying the Z4 if you have not already. It is very stable making it easier to get to grips with. Our next race with the GTC class will be Sunday the 8th Jan at Laguna Seca.

You could also see how you do with practise at the LeMans track in a GT2. We will be having a race at LeMans on 1st Jan. It will be a multi class race but, with the big long straights, allowing cars to pass is easier than it is on other tracks.

Hope to see you on the track soon. Smiley
