is it just me or do those sounds sound sh*te? ...maybe i spend too much time around 'real' racing engines, but those sound effects just sounded like a pc software games sound mans version of what a race engine should sound like  they sound artificial and electronic.

...but then i have just spent all day on track at Brands hatch

no it was to make a point of comparison...my own ears hearing real engines and electronic versions of them on the same day, and to say i thought those sounds were disapointing considering they are promoting it as their new great aspect of GT3. Might impress a teenager who doesnt know better but didnt impress an old sweat like me    ...but then i am hard to please 
How hard can it be to get the sounds right? They only have to turn up at a track or garage and record the friggin sounds!  Flightsims and shoot em 'ups seem to manage to get them spot on.

Have you heard the planes in flightsims in reallife? Of shot all the rifles for real? If not, comparing those 2 with racing sounds you did hear in real life, is apples and pears.

Perhaps you need to upgrade your PC speakers MJ, it sounds good to me.  But hell what do I know, I'm just some spotty teenaged fanboi that knows no better.  

Just to clarify... I'm not saying it's perfect, but considering the sounds in the current generation of racing sims, it seems a step in the right direction.

Calling it "sh*te" is a bit over the top and leaves yourself open to attack, hence the posts above...

Have you heard the planes in flightsims in reallife? Of shot all the rifles for real? If not, comparing those 2 with racing sounds you did hear in real life, is apples and pears.

yes both thanks and enjoyed them ! Not being cocky by that reply, but have seen and heard up close all sorts of aircraft from ww1 to present day at many air shows over the years and have heard, in person, plenty of well known hand held weapons since ww2 being a bit of a military buff !

Maybe i was overly harsh by saying what i said in post 1, perhaps it is my speakers? (creative surround) or i had gone tone deaf from hearing cars in action all day  will listen again but they didnt sound good to me first time around.
Or, i could say to you guys contradicting me, have you heard race engines, gearboxes etc in person/in car to say the opposite?

I really should adhere to that old saying of dont say anything unless its something positive or worthwhile  , but then it is 'a forum' where people express their own opinion of something....i'll get my coat

It must be a good game it's got the first graphic option everyone turns off in it (motion blur).
