I think he's asking if we're going to run the non-pitwall or the pitwall version.
Right, my short answer meant what Paul answered  angel

Can we atleast get 6ofpsv1 for the 66 race? Or its too much trouble for setting the server?

Hmm second time I've tried 60fps online lately and both times all I get is 35-45fps so it looks no different to me. Runs at a smooth 60fps offline.
Axel mentioned turning the detail down but when I did this before GPL looked like an early 1997 test beta and was undriveable because it was so odd.

Maybe my PC just isn't up to it. On the plus side I can run 60fps races but, as things stand, it does nothing for my mojo  Sad

Learnt a bit tonight.

I couldn't connect to T7_2 for the first race.  I kept getting an error "You are not qualified to enter this race".  I've never had that before so I messed around with the 60FPS settings trying all the different option but I got nowhere.  So I tried UKGPL_8 and I could connect with no problem.  Had a solid 60FPS and luckily Mike Ratters joined and we had a race which tested out the latency.  The connection was rock solid (well not really surprising with only 2 cars on the grid) and we could race wheel to wheel without any warp problems.

I decided to try and reboot my router and luckily I could then connect to T7_2 for the second race.  I can only assume T7_2 didn't like my IP address.  Maybe a specific range of IP addresses are blocked?  Anyway rebooting the router meant my dynamic IP address had changed and that seemed to sort the problem.

The race itself was fantastic.  A solid 60FPS throughout the whole race (even at the start).  Mind you I am using my new PC (Intel i7-2600K @ 3.4 GHz and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX560) and if that can't run GPL at 60FPS I'm a hamster.  Had a great dice with Martin, Bernie and Nicky.  We were able to drive very close without any noticeable warp problems.  Car control was much improved for me.  Bernie was even able to bang wheels with me when he came up the inside at Clubhouse Bend.  Normally I would have expected an overreaction from the collision engine at that point and a catapult ride into the hay bales.  Some laps later Bernie tried the same move again but this time I stayed on the inside line and he rear ended me.  I managed to get going without suffering any damage but Bernie was left with a burning Ferrari Sad

In summary a very successful test for me but it appears that wasn't the case for everyone.  Probably worth a few more 60FPS tests before we try a proper league race but so far the 60FPS patch is a big improvement IMO.

Phil when your IP is blocked you get Time Out Message.
The message you received joining 66 race on T7 server indicated that your 60fps patch wasn't the same of the server one, or you're trying to join with a car/class not allowed.
I'm sure you did all right to join 66 race and this was a problem also for other drivers with 60fpsV2newmod.

I think Phil was able to join 67 Monza on t8 which was set for 60fpsV1 but not T7 which ran the V2newmod patch

Myself and others (skymole etc) had exactly the same problem we could join the F2 race using V2 newmod but NOT the 67 race using the same mod , according to Axel I apparently have some rasteriser missing from GEM / Options ?

I need a fix badly  Grin

Meanwhile back to the track , it was really great swapping wheels ( and door handles) with Phil, Martin and Nicky until I suffered brake brain fade and took myself out in a blaze of glory (she would have been extatic) . I raced on to the finish only to get lapped on the penutimate lap and helping to construct a new chicane for the leaders on the last  Roll Eyes

Verdict 10/10 for the new F2 mod

Same here Bernie, some good close racing, with quite a small time differential throughout the field.  And I noticed two separate wheel banging events at the track, where no harm came to either driver.  Shocked

I was again discoed from a race in mid-squabble - it's a Hell of a way to go!

I had really wanted to do these races but was far too tired to risk racing... Id have been a problem to everyone else I think.
Agree with the 10/10 verdict for F2 though...
65/69x/F2 all get the 10/10 IMO Smiley

Well, I guess you didn't miss me but I did miss you. I was looking forward to these two races, both on tracks where velocity challenged tourists can have some relaxing time. It didn't happen. Yesterday, I lost all access to 60fps mods through GEM. I know, I know, I read the posts of people who have never had a problem with it and I would give all my trophies  Grin to be part of their club but this time, it was worse than ever : pressing GPL would send me back to GEM. In the best case, I would reach GPL but would end up in GEM just the same when choosing any training-race-...etc

I had a few backups in different spots of my hard disks maze but  they were all 36fps versions and I damaged them by reaching them with GEM. Rushing generally doesn't help, we know that. At least, if I stick to 67 in 36fps, I am still OK this morning.

I can hear the "who cares !?" across the atlantic . I just want  to support all the victims of that program and specially the silent ones who shut up because some experts keep telling them that everything is fine.  Roll Eyes

See you soon.

Aren't the rasterisers summat else Bernie, 'mine' seem to be called things like 'Open GL v2' or 'Direct 3D v2'.....no thanks on the Christmas Pud, only just managed to polish off the one my parents bought...just what you want after the biggest meal of the year!!

I had the same probs as Pierre but feel I should say thanks to Cookie who stuck around until the last minute and sacrificed his qual.  At least this is the 66 mod, which after the TC mod is my least used.  May be an idea to sort it though

Thanks for the help guys, so if rebooting my router wasn't the cure what was?

I'm pretty sure I tried to connect to the 66mod race with the correct version of the 60fps patch.  I also tried all the other options too so I'm no nearer to understanding what happened.

Although most people are pleased with the 60fps patch, the enthusiasm is not universal.  Some people still have their doubts.  I'm convinced that when it is working correctly the patch is a big improvement.  For the first races I did in this series I only got a frame rate of 38 - 39, but last night the frame rate was a solid 59 - 60 for the entire race.  I'm sure it isn't my computer.  I can run a full field of AI cars on max resolution in single player mode and still get a solid 60fps.  Don't know what happened there but it seems similar to what Vos experienced last night.

We need to make sure the instructions and work arounds to known problems are well documented.  I experienced both sides of the coin last night.  Total frustration when I couldn't connect for the first race and total elation when I had a fantastic close race long battle in the second race.  Axel's How To is great but I think we need to add to it when (and if) we find some answers to the problems some people (e.g. Vos, Pierre D and me) are obviously experiencing.
