Moderator's Report

Easy moderating for me, as there are no incidents reported.
Besides two self dependent excursions of Raoni and Tim, the red zone was clean.

I hope that Tristans issues with this series can be solved before the next race!

WELCOME TO THE UKGPL Season 22 - Pro Trophy

The 4th race of the season is in France at the challenging Clermont Ferrand circuit in the Auvergne Mountains.  This is not the longest track on this season's calendar (Nurby and Solitude are longer), but it is very twisty and difficult to pass on so each lap seems longer.  Patience and concentration will be required here.

Drivers beginning season 22 with this race have a free car choice!
All others have to keep their chosen car for the rest of the season,
they will only be allowed to swap chassis in exceptional circumstances and only with the approval of the moderator.
Driver lists can be found on the Pro Trophy championship standings page.

There will be full moderation of lap one Red Zone and reported incidents for the rest of the race.
Please submit incident reports within a week after the race so that the moderators report may be out before the next race.
Full time drivers have priority access to the server until 21.00 UK time.
Please restrict your chat to a minimum!

I would like to participate this event, may I ?

In case I may participate, it is not clear enough which car may I choose. I understood it depends on pilot skill but which is the chassis it fits good for me thinking I've never used mod 65 excepting a few laps at Monaco several weeks ago ? Give me a suggestion please.

Thanks

Of course Sergio, you are welcome!

Have you voted in the registration thread?

If you choose a car you have to stay with it...

I'd suggest you try the Brabham BT11 Sergio....you won't be disappointed. Good car for someone new to 65's and has good pace.

The only car I've used till now is a Ferrari so I think I will use the same because I've no time to try setups for other cars.
Thanks anyway.

I'd forgotten that if you get out while on the grid, you can't get back in again.  Angry

Still, pole position and a qualifying record, not all bad. Love the circuit too. Hope you had a good'un. Smiley

Think i finished 5th, maybe 6th.

Either way i really enjoyed it. Followed Clive for all but 3 laps and had the pace to beat him, to to be fair thats what motor racing is all about. Clive defended brilliantly and soaked up the pressure. This one is a very trick circuit to follow closely on so i'm happy we could race for so long without incident, though there were som close moments.

In the end, finding neutral, when i needed traction did me in. Came off the track twice by this method (as opposed to out-braking myself or tyres temps), the first incident damaging my steering to leave a dead spot in the middle which took some getting used to.. Tempted to join the paddle boys and leave the clutch and 6 shifter behind as it costs me time most races, but then i'd have nothing to blame!!  Wink

Well done to the podium boys, and thanks to Clive for a great race. Enjoyed it.

I had almost decided that either old age is slowing me down..or some of you guys are getting quicker!! but I have just discovered that the loud ledal on my G25 might not be working properly  Undecided When I give it wellie the rev counter does not climb smoothly towards the red line but hesitates and does not always make it!!

I suspect that I need to clean the pot under the pedal, so I will have to dismantle the pedal set one evening and clean it out...I hope that is all it is!!!

Anyway back to the race....and those coming up fast from behind...... I got a good start and jumped the always slow starting Raonni to get behind Mark (I think?). The plan then was to stick with him if I could ( there was No way I could match Tim up front...it transpired that I could not match Mark or Goran either!!! A small mistake and Goran dived through leaving me with a green thing growing large in my mirrors!!!

Now I think about it, Clutch has been on my tail in quite a few races lately and making life difficult for me Roll Eyes

Well he excelled himself this time!! Huh For just about the whole race he pressured me and only managed to pass me once when he took "the short cut" to land in front of me lol I think he was so shocked that he had survived that he sat there stunned whilst I nipped back in front again  Grin.  There were one or two "nudges" where he was able to brake far later than I could in my Waza but nothing to complain about. I was slightly quicker in some sections and he was fast enough in other bits to close up again. So for lap after lap I had to defend my line against what was a faster car/driver combination behind me, talk about working hard for virtually the whole race until 3 laps from the end Clutch finally mad a big enough error and gave me a chance to take a breath.

What Clutch did not know was that I was marginal on fuel Wink and made sure I got to the line by short shifting those last few laps. I did not run out, but I might have if I had been made to use max revs for the last 3 laps...phew!!!

Grats to Tim and Mark and Goran for some great pace up front and huge respect to Clutch for some great racing.

Will type more tomorrow if I have time, but thought I'd copy and paste this from my GPLRA report as I found it funny - anyone who saw my L1 'incident' should understand why.

This is not Edited!

the pole man disappear of the grid and let me a free field....??!!so the few first laps was good but with somes freezes and around 32-34 fps.....but it 's become worth and realy bad after 8-10 laps the freezes are nearly non-stop and FPSwas around 26 !!.....so I made a first '360°' .... and FullMetal come in my wheels....after I take a little air and make a second '360°  or 720° ( don't remember !).....and lost my first place .....then by moments , it was nearly unplayable....       ....lap 11 I think , I touch the bridge in the inside  at turn 2 ...and that push me out in the exterior and I finish on the head !!.....
After my déco on the grid in Watkins Glenn and my problems here , I start to have some doubts for the rest of the season...
.....I think we don't have enought training together to test the track on line with many players .....
...well will see at Bathust Panorama .....
....ciao tutti Smiley
