Indeed. Small but perfectly formed  Grin
I wanted an outing for the Porkers, and they are really nice to drive here. chef
They don't match well with other cars, so this is an RSR Spec race.
If anyone has trouble getting the beasts round, PM me and I'll mail a drivable setup.

Yep, I think you're right Matt, this track fits the Porsches nicely.

Using the very nice setup generously supplied by Matt, I managed to sneak just below 58 secs.

I have very little experience with the 911's so what lap times are you guys doing here ?

Looks like fun but these things bite and the suspension is made of glass!

Great car & great track! I hope to be able to join the race this Thursday.

56.8 as my best in race trim so far. Race pace is 57.0/1.I repeated these lap times almost every lap. Probably a low 56 will be my quali time...admitting I will be able to race  Huh

Qualifying pace of 57.1 so far for me.

And I think that #6 is the widest!  Grin

Is it an idea to put up a link to your setup? I think many will benefit from a drivable setup  Undecided

If you think it is a bad idea, could you plz mail me the setup. I'm rubbish at setups..

Thanks.

That's a good idea - I am still stuck around 59.5  Roll Eyes

Just one question - I'm not sure whether there are differences: is the IROC RSR also allowed?

Just one question - I'm not sure whether there are differences: is the IROC RSR also allowed?

I guess that IROC is a bit slower than the 3.0 RSR, mainly cause of the fixed gear ratio (you can adjust only the final gear) and less chances to modifies the car setup. Engines have pretty similar features and the same HP (320), even if the RSR 3.0 is slightly different in terms of power delivery (don't know if it's the right term Huh).
Even the tyres are different. The IROC champ was a Good Year single make. For the RSR 3.0 you have 3 different options (Firestone-Dunlop-Good Year). Personally, I guess the good years are the fastest, and I choosed the last model of the RSR 3.0 named "Heimrath racing Canada", if I'm not wrong.
However I guess that only the RSR 3.0 will be allowed for this race, and it should be definitely faster than the IROC Wink

got some laps in this eve. Great track, never raced here before but its a great layout for vintage racing  Cool Only thing it could do with is some wider kerbs on the outside edges. Its a bit too easy to get a wheel off and be spun around.

Low 57's with race fuel onboard for me so far (offline prac1 sesh). Didnt run any low fuel laps.  Smiley

Only advice i would give to anyone struggling is dont drop a gear at corner entry or early apex until you have shrugged enough speed off, otherwise you just unsettle the car and the nose wants to turn in. You can also stiffen the front ARB if you find it trying to snap in on you, as it will fight the oversteer.

A basic setup to get you going if you need it:

http://www.matt-rowe.co.uk/comp/RSRmatt1.svm

#6 is the widest? omg what have I started here....  Roll Eyes

The IROC is not in the list, but if anyone wants to they could take it, it is quite a bit slower though
and IMHO harder to keep on the track.  Undecided

Here's a setup, that I think makes the 911 a bit more easy to drive. I don't think it's any good for the elite drivers, but it might help someone who needs to focus on staying on the track and avoiding damaging the very 'sore' 911. I managed a 56.800 using it.
