Here's a setup, that I think makes the 911 a bit more easy to drive. I don't think it's any good for the elite drivers, but it might help someone who needs to focus on staying on the track and avoiding damaging the very 'sore' 911. I managed a 56.800 using it.

CU thursday.

Stig

Thanks for sharing it Stig & Matt. No chance to practice again before Thursday, but I hope I'll have some time to try both the setup, and see if I have any improvement with it. I've never been a good car engineer  Grin Grin

P.S Was your lap time in an online session Stig? Quali or race fuel?

I tried both the setup, they're really good with some different settings and drive feelings. Stig setup is even asymmetrical, and sometimes I lose the control of my car with it. Matt's setup is a bit more neutral in its reactions, but sometimes I have troubles when I shift up a gear, especially at the exit of the double right corner of the first sector.

However I improved my lap times with both the setup. I was able to turn in 56.5/6 in race pace and my best lap was a 56.3 in both of it.
Then I came back to my old setup and the pace was very similar. Figure that my best lap was... 56.3 even with it Grin
Now I really don't know which is the setup that fit better my drive Grin Grin

Did not realize "UK time", Stig.

Already did some laps online and offline and it seems that I'm faster and more consistent offline (open practice  - no private drive) than online  Huh  Steady laps around 0.59 offline but only around 1.00.5 online and that less consistent.
Tried one Goodyear and one Dunlop RSR without much difference it time.

Maybe it's only my personal way of driving!

Both setups were helpful - thanks again guys.

Let's see what tomorrow will bring throughout the different stages of the meeting  Grin

My setup is not meant to be particularly fast, just relatively drivable. The camber is not changed and the tyres heat up unevenly.
For me in the Porkas, A setup that has understeer more than ideal will actually allow me to go faster than a "fast" setup
as I can drive with more confidence. Oh, and  I use auto clutch with Porkas, or I too would be struggling with gear changes
up and down  Shocked Perhaps more diff power and coast would help if you use manual changes

Just couldn't get to terms with the car so quit out. Have a good'un.

BTW I just can't believe that a car that big will spin around just because it mounts a kerb  Huh

Blew the engine whilst downshifting (again).
Liked the Porsches and track. Bummer. Engine revision won't be cheap  :'(

Results and replay posted

Had a misunderstanding with Stig, he came off the last turn faster and was going to pass, I was unsure which side he would
go we both ended up getting it wrong and I bent my suspension on the fence, went to pit for 2 + minutes to get it
fixed, cam out and went off giving Stig room to lap... then nearly took Matteo out giving him room and getting a wheel on the grass
ah well. was two laps down and a liability so quit. Seem to be a good race up front  Smiley

I am not a fan of the sim 911s they handle like a cement mixer, I 'm sure real ones are not quite as easy to spin at 40 mph
