Hmm it's quite a good game, only a few bugs or things that don't work!!
Shark, your low frame rates sound like it could be throttling on GFX card. Once GPU reaches certain temp some card throttle back the GPU and RAM and lower vgpu too which would lower frame rates a bit - but if that's the case you'd expect to be ok one minute then slower the next as the card cools and then heats up.
Maybe check fan is working, otherwise I have a few tricks up my sleeve which might help. If I see you on msn, we chat and see what's what.
Disconnections back to lobby aren't Simbin fault either. Internet is a complex thing. What you will probably find is that your line stats are poor, i.e poor attenuatin and poor signal to noise ratio!! If you have a router you can find these things out.. I had poor stats and tried different things but eventually I phoned my ISP and they asked me to connect to btwholesale line test for 12 hours or more. After that period they said I had been disconnected several times and would send an engineer out to investigate. The engineer did some tests on my line, went down the street to a box somewhere came back and said he changed a few boards around - no idea what he did but my stats were excellent after that even good enough for 8mb line!! Sometimes lines can be like a blocked toilet, you got to have the right tools to flush it away.
Lol, #1 Fan.

Those sudden low FPS is for sure throttling of GFX card which is caused by too much heat. When it reaches certain temp GPU and RAM speeds are lowered considerably to slower speeds in an attempt to decrease temps.
No, it's definately not my graphics card. It runs at 35 degrees approximately. X800 XT. No overclocking, no overdrive. I ran a quick 24 AI driver race on full settings and 2x AA afterwards with no frame rate problems. It's only started happening in GTR the last 3 weeks and only online. There is no problem with graphics cards, it's something in the network play, I do wonder whether there is something funny going on with the lobby interaction in the background cause we are still using 1.4 and not 1.5. Not fiddling with settings again cause there is nothing wrong with it, it's GTR being shit. Roll on GTR 2. I love driving GTR but sometimes you just want to take a pick-axe to it!! Well done on the win Rich. You've been getting faster and faster recently, nice to notch your first win up.

Had a tricky time in qualli, it seemed that every time I was on for a half decent time someone joined the server, and that pause in the gameplay is a killer! Didnt make too much difference in lap time as it turned out, my best offline lap time would have only moved me up 2 places!! (some great drivers and times here ). Quallied in 17th. Race was pretty much same as usual - spin off, lose a couple of places, someone else spins off, get those places back, finishing 13th. I find this track a very difficult one for overtaking, with the runway the only "safe" place, if you can get enough speed up out of T1, dont yet have the confidence to try and out brake into the corners. My driving is getting consistently better tho (less offs), so thats pleasing. Great drive by Nakano, 5th, good points for the Crawlers. Pity Mo had to go, else Im sure we would have had another 1st place!! As far as fps is concerned, didnt find it too bad, apart from T6 for some reason, when it dropped thru the floor Cheers Rob

Sorry, that was probably me reconnecting a lot. Thought it didn't give the pause anymore since 1.3 when Simbin added "only load cars in garage" option, or is this a different pause?

I was getting pauses last night (but not every time) on drivers joining the server.
It's never been noticable before since 1.3 as you say Shark. I have the "only load cars in garage" option selected, it's really odd.
Wonder if there is something to the 1.5 v's 1.4 patch theory?

I don't even wanna see this one on my record tbh So far all races I joined I've scored points * sniff * Already thinking this was weird, lol! I checked it today and that last comment is incorrect, hehe! https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?ind=lm2&driver=127Full Event Entry List <<< I looked at this and thought the number behind the races was points, hehe, hence I scored points in all races :^D. Wrong! N00b * [ZiP]Tyf slaps himself (gently, but firmly ) T

It wasnt just you Shark, and it wasnt just last night. I get the pause every time someones connects to the server, and I always have. It just seemed last night that there were a lot of connections during qualli, or more precisely, when I was on track. Cheers Rob

Yea you could be right, bit of a coincidence you get it since patch was released but I don't have lower frames at all - same as it's always been. Maybe you've installed v1.5 and then uninstalled and that's causing it, maybe need fresh installation of GTR!! Don't know, maybe good idea to test v1.5 again with 24..

Thnx, it's a good feeling crossing that line in 1st. But anything in the top six is an achievement imo. I have been getting a little quicker in nGT but my Logitech pedals only allow me so much control. I will take it to the edge but beyond that I need better controllers.. i'm thinking new act labs stuff soon to be available looks the business.

I didn't have any software issues last night, no pauses, low frames, etc., the game was stable. I only had problems with tyres.

Hi Guys was going distance last evening taking things easy for a start , I may have had a bit of help into a gravel trap , but caried on ok. Then I let a porsche through in the last corner , the b car went all heywire again and dumped me all over the place . Managed to creep in pits expecting to be DQ. Anyway had car repaired a carried on 3laps down to test it out and everything seemed ok so am assuming the game gave me a punture or somthing . bye for now gerald
