Moderator's Report

Terrific dicing with no incidents on Lap 1. Well done all.

Ron and Nicky get very close off the line as they snake towards each other but no harm done.

Keep it up boys.

Have files C:\ gpl69mod   c:\gpl69xtra  which are sitting on the C:\ root  , should they be somewhere else ?

if these folders do have the subfolder `option `, which include XML documents ; they should placed in X:\gpl\mods\Gem+\ and NOT somwhere lost on C:\
Guess this would explain the `black box `in GEM & CTD

as to which exe should be deleted to make GEM to create new ones :

inside gpl root , called gplc69 ( for 69mod ) , gplx69 ( for 69xmod )

best to make a backup of all your gpl exes , then delete all , except main GPL.exe of course , and let GEM rebuild them .
Dunno if Vista asking for something special in procedure...

good luck

In the file
C;/ sierra / gpl/ MODS/

I have alot of files with extension .bmp

then these folders

GEM+ (yet another gem+) ?
69-extra
deadgpl69
gpl65
gpl66
gpl67
gplf2

Could this be my problem , should be a folder gpl69 in there ?

Grin Grin are you kiding ?? Of course `deadgpl69 `is wrong !!!!!!

I just tried what happend to my GPL if that folder is changed to `deadgpl69` ...  Cheesy didnt got and CTD but a error message talkin about bad extension . And voila GPL wont run 69mod .
Running XP Home on that PC , thats why error may be different to the one you got under Vista...

So just rename that folder to gpl69 should solve your prob runing 69mod , hopefully it will solve 69xmod too . On my XP system 69xmod wasnt involved my wrong folder name `deadgpl69`.. Wink
( note : folder called 69-extra is correct ) .

edit : did modify my last post , as the path I mentioned was wrong .
its X:\GPL\Mods\Gem+\

Just popped over to Monza Italy for a test drive in a Mclaren M7  Cool

thought all my problems were over but when i tried the 69xtra I now get a "can't load track" message from the race screen  :'(

Although I have 69xtra cars selected and a driver configured there are no car pickies on the GEM screen

the 69 Mod looks good so at least its an improvement .

That was one of the longest battles I've had in a Championship Race w/ Phil... No doubt his greater experience saved us from my recklessness. Haven't watched the replay yet but it was hard to see the screen with the sun coming thru behind me (in GMT -8) I know there were some close calls. Not sure what happened but after I regained 3rd for a second time Phil suddenly dropped away...

I actually got up to use the loo with about 1:32 which I thought was enough time.  When I got back the grid had just taken off...to my surprise I was able to start from the pits a few seconds later. This put me in 10th instead of qualified 2nd but with only 1 major mistake I was able to fight up to 3rd... Unfortunately I'm guessing this will count as -1 position lost rather than +7 gained

Yes it was a good clean fight.  I also had a couple of cracking duels with Geoff too.  I think I needed a slightly longer top gear, I blew 2 engines and with the 2 S&Gs I had no chance of challenging Bernie.  Well done mate.  All the hassle you had installing the 69x mod was worth it in the end  Grin

Aaaarrrggggh.  Just realized I used the wrong setup for the race.  My proper setup that I used in qually had 2 clicks more on top gear!!!!!!!

Congratulations to winners Bernie and Clive and to podium ones !!

Nice turn out after all that razzel-dazzel, Bernie !

Well , my race was quit boring :
Good start , but wasn’t easy to stay behind Ron-C , as his car changed left right on track constantly , didn’t looked like warping really , but yet I guess it was ….
Lost tow to the front runners at L4 , coz got rear ended at Lesmo1 . Luckily car wasn’t damaged . Tried to kept contact with Artiglietti after he overtook me easily . But I was too slow and couples of laps later he was out of slipstream effect to me .
Then a long period of lonesome driving settled on me . Just fighting with my overheating tyres . well Fulvio caught me up 2nd laps to go , I managed to recounter once , but on last lap at lesmo2 Fulvio overtook me again . Sorry I made it that critical Fulvio , wasn’t my intention , just didn’t have any enough  control over my car that moment . my fault all over . Did a shift R , pits stopped ( this time really stop down too 0kmh ) and left pits to cross the finish line .
Quit funny feeling ….

Quallified 3rd on what was basically the default set up , though I did change the dampers and take some wing off for xtra speed . made my usual tardy start and was glad to see we all got through the dreaded T1  Cuvra G intact , Fabio drafted past trying to make up time for his poor start and ended L5 by outbraking himself into parabolica , I danced with him into the gravel,  but where i could get away easily I think Fabby got stuck in the quick sands . I was now 6th while Dave inherited 5th . Lap 6 saw almost everyone ahead of us hit some kind of trouble , geoff went barrier bashing , Jonny clipped him and spun , Phil blew it (hard luck son) and when the dust had settled Dave was 1st me 2nd some way behind . with everything warmed up nicely I was able to chase Dave down and thus began a scrap that lasted to the end of the race , the results dont show how many times we passed and re passed each other which was 2 or 3 times per lap .

The last half dozen laps were frantic with me giving it large to try and brake the tow but think I had the advantage under braking into Parabollicup and was able to cross the line 1st , though the result could have gone either way .

Got to thank Dave for a great race and his sporting behaviour , i would have been pleased to finish 2nd in such company  Smiley

Grats too to Hendy on his well earned podium proving once more you dont have to be the fastest man on earth to get a result  Grin

Commiserations to Fabio for missing out in front of the home crowd .   well done to all who finished with there pride intact  Smiley

Had to totally guess as to the setup as I had 3 minutes in qualification. Blew an engine on the way out and had one quick lap Sad

Sorry about the tight grid, I assumed it would be loose as I have installed loose grids for the 67's.

Made a cautious start as I wasn't sure about the setup but caught Billy and put a bit of pressure on. By not making mistakes I managed to make it as high as 3rd. It went wrong from there. Fabio caught and passed me and then I blew an engine. Down to eighth Sad Two laps later blew another one  Angry

Set about trying to catch Adam and then I span when I did! Tried to catch him again and thought I was going to run out of laps but got lucky with the blue flags and surprised him as Hendy caught us both...

On the whole my best ever drive.
