The server is now running with an ambient temperature similar to what we can expect in the race.

I'll just have a quick moan about weather. I'll check the forecast but if it looks like being changeable I'll not bother.

The forecast is currently for a dry race. We will not be using ambient temps of less than 12 degrees C and no heavy rain/monsoon conditions for changeable weather races due to the limitations of the in game weather.

I can only see MegaUpload, FileFront and Humyo.  All of which are defunct.

The filefront/gamefront links works for me.

just done 15 laps in porsche, down to 2:26. still deciding whether to race a porsche this season.....never really understood how to get the best out of them, anyone got any setup/driving tips?

hello SRW,

there are 3 porsches (i think) in this carpack, so what porsche did you drive.
if you did drive the orginal porsche RSR, then this car is a very slow car in this carpack, if i remember correct this car did get a weigth penalty of 15kg to orginal, which make this car to much slow.
in other side, the orginal biturbo and seat toleda did get -15kg and this cars are normaly same fast in laptimes then RSR. the M3 which is extrem same fast to RSR did get -5kg.
so the orginal RSR (think 996??) you can forget if you like a winning car.
the biturbo should be a fast car in this carpack, but it takes long time to become fast with this car, because of corner slow this car is.

if you select a porsche i do suggest you the other RSR, perhaps 997 is the name (do never know exactly name of the porsche cars), or 997 cup RSR? this i think is the best car in carpack, together with the f430 and the gallardo lambo (but galardo is slow in straigths speed).

this are information about longer time ago i did test (perhaps 1-2 years ago), but i think not much (or nothing) is changed in this cars since this, so performance should be same (or nearly), only gallardo i did test any days ago in dubai and i did add hoc?? faster laptimes then i can do with M3 (orginal), did with 100l 1.57.mid racelaps which is extrem fast, but car is extrem slow in straights.

think i will drive M3 for this season, easy car to drive and i have already many setups for this car, which save me lot of time and i know car good.

....must we stay the complete season with 1 car? or can we switch 1xtime or more often??

with orginal M3 i think i can do 2.19/2.20 laptimes with 100l med med, so with -5kg in this version and +30litres tank, i will be in the 2.20.xxx in 1st stint i hope.

Jeez.

Click on the filefront link. If you actually bothered to look at what you were doing and not just dismiss it as not working you would see the large yellow download button next to the file details.

Filefront hasnt existed for a longtime, its now called gamefront.

Thank you for your courteous response but it doesn't really tell me what to do with the system message that says:-
Internet Explorer has encountered
a problem and needs to close.

We are sorry for the inconvenience.

This is the response that GameFront invokes on both of my computers.

Well you could have actually posted that up, rather than just being dismissive.

Are running the latest version of IE, kept it up to date patch wise? Any ad blockers?

I Just copied the link into IE and it worked.

I tried pressing Ctrl and selecting the link and it didn't work any better.

The Error signature is this:
AppName: iexplore.exe    AppVer: 8.0.6001.18702    ModName: mshtml.dll
ModVer: 8.0.6001.19190    Offset: 00088fa7

I'm on XP so can't go any higher than IE 8.

try using google chrome.

I use that browser and downloaded the track pack earlier with the filefront / link and it worked no problem.

http://chrome.google.com

IE has a habit of messing about when you have certain programs installed.

I am going to use the m3 i think for this season, however untill i get a new wheel i will be left behind totally. My up shifter paddle has decided it wants to mess about most of the time and sometimes double shifts its self so goes from 1st straight to 3rd, 2nd straight to 4th ect.

Down shift works fine though :-)

QS there is a program you can use that should help with the double-shifts. Its called joy-to-key so you assign up & down shifts to a keyboard key and then you assign that letter to your paddle press. IT therefore treats you shifts as a keypress so can control how quickly it leaves it between presses.

A real shocker for me there Sad
I hadn't realised until late on in qually that my brake pedal had been slightly on Embarrassed I cleaned the pedal quickly and then set a deadzone of 10% on that pedal. My main problem after that was the fact I tried to set the car up with this pedal on...
Anyway I struggled with adjusting my braking points etc and eventually crashed out after the car oversteered and then snapped back and I drove into a tyre wall. Hope you all had a good race and I will do a bit more practice for the next one Wink

Hi Guys,

Firstly sorry for dipping in & out, I hadn't been on the forum for awhile and only saw the post while you were all in qually. After quickly downloading carpacks etc I tried to get on the pace but ran out of qually time, so I ended up starting the race having come straight from iracing with no setup and not having started GTR2 for a couple of months, was never gonna end well!!!!

Anyway I decided the stop trying after MJ ran into to me at the hairpin while I was trying to let the leaders through, I ran wide to give him room, but I guess he didn't see i'd lifted off.

Anyway, now I know the season has started I'll dust off GTR2 again and get some well needed practice in Grin

wasnt going too bad for that track. (not my favourite by far)

4 mins before the end was in 9th i think then my stupid computer decided it would try to activate windows so switched to the desktop. when it switched back to the game i was flying in the air and landed between a wall and a fence off the track GAME OVER.

Chears spanner ill look it up and give it a shot.

That was a corker of a first race, with an unfortunate ending for me.

Qualied 3rd place behind Alien Berger and TT in his turbo so was chuffed with that.  Smiley

First half of the race was excellent with TT, H@L, myself and Rob Vern? chasing all within a couple of secs of each other. H@L and TT's extra horsepower would leave me for dead from La source exit to top of Kemmel then i'd be all over them for the last half a lap until the process repeated! Intense focused racing, loved it.  Cool Shame Rob left quite early?
After an intense half hour racing and chasing, H@L pitted about 4 laps earlier than me, and despite my stop being clean as a whistle and no offs, he re-appeared 21 secs ahead of me after my own stop  Huh That kinda killed off the battle for 2nd place unfortunately.
TT wasnt far behind me when he pitted same time as me but i managed to get a good gap out to him and Spanner of about 14 seconds and feeling happy for a solid 3rd place at my fave race track.
But the racing gods (or sloppy pit engineer  Wink ) short fueled me by about 5Litres and just knew with a sinking feeling i didnt have enough to finish the race (oh how i swore!) so sadly i had to pit with only 2 laps remaining and with spa having an exceptionally long pit lane costing a minute, that was my race and podium solidly fubared. Finish a despondent 7th  :'(

Cracking race though, and well done to amazing paced Berger (he must know a short cut through the trees!) and H@L and TT for wrapping up the podium  thumbup1
