Moderator's Report

Not much in lap 1 and no reports. Looked like pretty good racing.

Server replay time: 0h01m18s

Nicky gets a good run up the inside of Geoff who has left the door open. They are racing side by side when GPL decides that they are too close. Neither driver did anything really wrong and there is a visible gap BUT drivers should remember that the cars are wider than they are painted. If in doubt leave a little room. Nicky could have been a little more patient and that would have worked better for them both.

Geoff is punted over a fence and Nicky's engine blows. Pity for both of them. Fulvio is rubber-necking and forgets to stay on track...

Server replay time: 0h07m12s

Sergio gets past Roberto on the tight inside. Roberto is a bit dozy and squeezes Clouds for room. Sergio could have been a bit more patient but was within his rights to attempt the pass.

This is a difficult incident to moderate as this is hard, close driving by two good drivers.

The Penalty Guidelines do not cover this exactly but this would appear to be covered under the Etiquette section It states: "If an overtaking driver has any part of their car beside another as they enter a corner, the driver being overtaken should not move across; they should give the overtaking car room and go through the corner side by side, or let them through into the corner and try to re-take them at the exit."

Roberto is guilty here of not leaving enough racing room for Sergio. Breach of etiquette perhaps but is it enough for a penalty?

Season 22 - Porsche Super Cup
Race 8, Diamante

It's a choice track Bro, this Diamante. Not real, but a ripper all the same for the wee Porsches. And afterwards, maybe some fush and chups. Yes, you may have guessed we journey to the Land of the Long White Cloud...commonly called New Zealand

Please check the Season 22 pages for details regarding rules and the Porsche Super Cup pages in particular.

Just a note of clarification. The Server 1 password is at the top of the page, the Server 2 password is the second one down.

Roll Eyes quallifying was thrilling enough , with a driver chrash me out and saying `your welcome `..

well race ended in first lap , as I know Geoff is a gentleman driver I think it was mainly warp contact .
My client  replay shows me slightly in front ,holding the very inner line, 1inch to curbs without any drifting to the right

Blimey!
I assure you that it's really frustrating to see a few minutes away from the image planted in 1 ° curve! To think that he has become at last time!
After several failures due in part to 'inexperience and the distance from the online game, I missed this: (
Now you're running and I'm here like an idiot in front of the computer in disbelief!
dovvero I hope it was a good race, the track is fun for my taste!

Very small grid for server 2.  Only 7 starters (I think).  Anyway quite pleased to qualify 4th and, apart from a little tussle with Pedro when he dropped back after he made a small mistake, that was where I finished.

I tried my best not to get lapped but with just 3 laps to go Alex passed me.  Ron was next up and although he would have struggled to catch Alex he was pretty close so I didn't want to spoil his chances of challenging Alex.  I was so busy trying to make sure I didn't hold Ron up I ran wide on the tight left hander after the long back straight and got caught up in the catch fencing.  Race over.  Pity but I should still keep hold of my 4th place because the guys behind me had already dropped out.

Hope we get a few more drivers for the next round.

Blistering pace from Alex - again!!!

It is a shame so few turned out for this one - too close to Easter maybe. I think maybe everyone needs a break.

Replays and analysis in the usual places.

Well that was an interesting Friday race. Screen freeze during qualifying, flying start, some good racing with Axl and Bob before they sped off into the distance, some luck and a podium finish. Sorry to see you go out so early Geoff, your clearly having no luck at the moment.

If I can suggest you something, I would prefer to have only one server instead to split so few participants on 2 servers and in any case the final result now is conditioned by the fortune to be in one server or in another one. It should be easy to have a pre-qualify the day before the official race on 2 servers depending on the number of participants and having only 30 mins of practice time. The 2 servers qualification report should be mixed together to extract the 19 best lap times that will race the official event on Friday and the remainders, if you want, should race on the 2nd server for position from 20th on. Then the day of the official event should be like now that means, qualify and race. In case 2 drivers should have the same lap time good for qualification, then the second best lap time should be taken in count to be qualified for the official race event or in alternative, who made that lap time having completed lesser laps before or both things.

This thing should avoid to have 2 servers both half filled and/or strong drivers that have a simple task to accomplish avoiding also the randomization of Server/Teams assignments that often is not balanced Wink
I've achieved 21 points with only 3 laps completed, that is a non sense. Some further things could be, to achieve points it should be better to force any driver to accomplish at least 75% of the race laps. The drivers too much aggressive could be penalized starting from the end of the grid the next race event avoiding them the paticipation to the qualify or in extreme cases avoiding them the participation to the next race at all.

We actually have too much drivers disappearing, this is the main thing to think about.

NO!!!!!!

However Sergio raises some very interesting points. We really do need a mid season review, have I missed it?Huh I edited an earlier post to remove some comments I made about the race and the series in general and how it is not working for me. For the record Sergio, in my opinion, the initiation of the fun and games at the start of lap 5 were completely not your fault but the result of some very suspect driving by another party, you were robbed.

It seems that I missed the potential chance to pick up a few "easy" points lol  Roll Eyes

But, my daughter decided to spring a surprise weekend visit upon us on Friday evening, so I was obliged to enjoy a meal with the family instead of racing.

Tough luck Clive, kids eh....!

Thanks for the well wishes on igor chat, I had some issues and had to quit and rejoin a number of times, hence my lack of acknowledgement at the time.

As regards easy points...well there were only 4 of us running at the end on server 1 and Fulvio was a few laps down limping along with a very sick Porsche.

Due my issues of GEM not remembering my choice of rasterizer, I didn't join in time to set a qual time, hence started dead last.  After a very tentative few corners I weaved my way through a bit of wreckage and began the chase.  After overtaking a few cars I found myself behind Axel.  Given that I'd caught him I thought I was a bit quicker, but even in the slipstream found it tough to make headway on the straights and after running quite close for a while I had to brake mid corner to avoid contact with him and promptly spun.  This happened again a few laps later, then on catching him a 3rd time we made contact as Axel lost it mid corner, sending me off into the gravel.  On catching him a 4th time I made my move quickly and luckily it stuck.  Unfortunately after at one stage being only a second or two in front, Roberto was now long gone, hence I settled for 2nd  I found this place a bit tricky to overtake on, wherever I was faster I generally couldn't challenge for position.  Liked the circuit though, esp the first sequence of corners.

Bob.
