Season 23 - Porsche Super Cup

Welcome to the Porsche Super Cup which will be based on the GT Mod but will use only the Porsche.
This will be a team based series, and the championship will be based on the results of the whole team rather than the individual drivers. The drivers table is unofficial.

The best driver from each of the 3 classes will be honoured as members of the "Season 23 Porsche Dream Team".

Please check the Season 23 pages for details regarding rules and the Porsche Super Cup pages in particular.

We want to encourage more drivers to join our UKGPL teams or create new teams and so this series will aim to do that.

All drivers have been rated according to ability as either: Pro; Amateur or Novice. New drivers will be assigned a group by the Moderator.

A team consists of 3 drivers with a maximum of 6 drivers points.
Pro driver -> 3 points
Amateurs   -> 2 points
Novices    -> 1 point

There is NO other handicap in these races.

Please ensure that you comply with this rule. There will be no exceptions made!

NB: Teams that do not comply with this rule will have ALL of their
drivers disqualified for each race in which the rule is not adhered to

I'm in I'm in I'm in  Grin.

But, I either need two people to join me to create a team, or have a team invite me to be their mediocre Pro Driver  Roll Eyes

A clarification Paul if I may, the Adelaide track, I assume it's the GP version, not the sprint?

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the track  Wink

Cheers..

We will do rolling starts to the end of the RED ZONE

Soooo, I take it that this means no overtaking, must hold a steading speed etc until we reach the end of the Red Zone ?

Hi Ron,

Yes, we do the Adelaide GP version, and a rolling start means no overtaking before the end of the "rolling zone".

The rules are the same as in the GT, exept they do a full lap:

Guidelines for rolling starts...

The car on pole will lead off the grid and maintain a steady pace for the "rolling zone" around 175kph
All drivers should form up in single file behind him leaving 3-4 car lengths between each car.
There is NO OVERTAKING on the "rolling zone".
It is the reponsibility of the lead car to ensure that all drivers are with him as he approaches the final "rolling zone" corner.
Racing and overtaking begin AFTER the exit of the last "rolling zone" corner.

Any driver who loses his position in the "rolling zone", by going off or through contact with another car ( regardless of fault) must rejoin at the back of the field.
Incidents on the "rolling zone" will be fully modded and anyone found to have caused another competitor to lose position through bad driving will be penalised appropriately.
Also, please make sure that you know which car you should be following on the "rolling zone", so that you do NOT get out of position.

Any driver who loses his position on the rolling lap, by going off, blowing his engine or through contact with another car ( regardless of fault) must rejoin at the back of the field.

Don't you think there is something strange in this highlighted or may I understood bad ?
If there is not reset (in Pro mode) who blows his engine should leave the race as soon as possible, does it ?

Rolling start is good and safer (I've raced with this rule in GPFun67 since 4 years) but personally, the normal start sequence is more exciting but usually it has to be used with disciplined drivers that don't think to win a race at the first corner but...at the last one. A drawback is, since the rolling start will end at the last corner and usually the start/finish straight is a long straight, at 1st corner can happen a heap as well as in a normal start considering in a rolling start the slipstream is strong and you will have the savage crowd directly behind....who will miss the brake point will make the ...YahooOooOOo. LOL
Maybe a normal start with only one reset during the 1st lap could help avoiding frustration to throw a race like at Salzburgring with also a S&G to be served at the discretion of the driver before the finish line.

Last but not least,
what about Teams and drivers exceeding the slots allowed ?

Yeah Sergio  Grin

I just copied Clives version of rolling start rules... Roll Eyes

As there is no limitation for the "rolling zone", I will choose the best possible place to let you go.

The PSC is aimed to be a long distance event but with the standing starts lots of drivers had only a very short event...

I just found out:
The "rolling zone" can not be the same as the "red zone"!

"rolling zone" -> no overtaking
"red zone"   -> full moderation

Do you mean about the front grid drivers that leave the other drivers alone or because a possible incident ?
Anyway it is obvious that a way must be taken, I hope it will better than the last year for all of us.

Anyway it is obvious that a choice must be made, only, I hope it will better than the last year for all of us.

My aim is to avoid the possible T1-2 incidents, the drivers in the midfield are way more affected than the front drivers.

IT WILL BE BETTER!

Yes mate - the download off the GPL tracks database gives the wrong D/L module. The link on the calendar should take you to the right one...

Let me know if it doesn't.
