Moderator's Report

Guys, you gave me lot of works for this race moderation ...

Start of this race was quite bad with 6 incidents on red zone during lap1.
Please, be very careful for next races.

You can have a look to the excellent starts done by Phil Thornton and Nigel Smith.

Unfortunately, 2 drivers has been disqualified : only one shift-R is authorised (unless immediate retirement).

Server replay time: 0

Giovani entered the race 2 times and made 3 shift-R

Server replay time: 0h00m50s

0m50s Billy Nobrakes -Dave Curtis: Billy is slow and unpredictable off the line which triggers a chain reaction. It was impossible for Dave to avoid Billy given the large speed difference between the two, and the fact Billy was unsighted until the last moment. Racing incident.

Server replay time: 0h00m52s

Simple Rear End Shunt (penalty 1+1 place for red zone) for :
- Tim Folkard against Diki Waza (Paulwbird)

Server replay time: 0h00m58s

Fester against Giovani: blatant rear end shunt, penalty 2 places plus 1 for red zone

Server replay time: 0h01m00s

Fabio Locarno - Billy Nobrakes : Fabio tries to avoid the incident on the outside of Copse but loses control and as he does so, he moves across into Billy. As Billy is unharmed by this, and Fabio's intentions were OK, I'd put this down as a racing incident.

Server replay time: 0h01m00s

SimpleRear End Shunt (penalty of 1 + 1 places) for :
- M Turner against D. Curtis
Michael was starting from the end of the grid and took and very quick and riskly start, in such a situation you are 99% sure to collide with another driver
penalty reduced to 1 place due to the starting conditions.

Server replay time: 0h13m09s

Tim Folkard did a 2nd Shift-R but he retired a few seconds after.

so no penalty in this case.

Server replay time: 0h14m09s

incident between Diki Waza - Phil Thornton : crashbox incident-no real contact
Racing incident

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 0h15m45s

Dave Curtis - Diki Waza : Dave lost control and made a terrible rejoin.

Server replay time: 0h39m33s

Giovani did a 2nd Shift-R (1st one occured at 04:13)
Moreover he did a 3rd Shift-R
Unfortunately, he has to be disqualified.

Server replay time: 0h41m09s

incident between Dave Curtis - Phil Thornton : maybe Dave was a little too ambitious but he did his best to avoid Phil's car, and the crashbox was not helping ...
racing incident

Server replay time: 0h43m01s

Nigel Smith did a 2nd Shift-R (1st one at 03:41)
rules are clear : disqualification

I think the ruling is you wont get docked unless someone puts in an incedent report , then the mods will need to decide yea or nay for a penalty  Roll Eyes

Good try Bernie but this was in the Red Zone  Cheesy

A well known track + the quickest car = no way to stay on the track.
I spent the most of the qualify time to set a lap with the loty but it wasn't really possible!!
Finally I decided to take the brabby and I felt more comfortable...

I had a good race pace and I could have finished in a very good postion but I got distracted in a silly way and I lost the car at turn one with few laps to the checquered flag.
I got so angry with myself and I quit the race.
Well done to the winner, the podium and everybody raced.
Bye

Looking at the results table I see that Tim retired because of a  'Header'. Did somebody head butt him? I think I might just add that to my armoury of excuses.

Should I report incidents in the red zone? Even when it's obviously my fault?

I agree with Phil. If I'd done something so stupid at any other point in the race I would have reported to the mod and like Max Mosley demanded to be punished.

it wasn't clear - it just appeared to be so  because of GPL's inability to diplay more than a handful of cars online.

If you mean the cars weren't being rendered, try setting the detail bias to a lower setting when racing with a full grid. This will lower the poly count to avoid going over the max. Has worked for me I usually turn it down to about 2/3rds.

If you mean that pribluda wasn't showing their distances I think there is an online patch that fixes it.

I was referring to the cars being rendered rather than Pribluda. I currently have detail set at about 90% but I'll follow your advice and turn it down further. Perhaps this will also help with Pribluda which is often scrambled and illegible when online though fine offline.

Hi Mike , dunno if it helps but my Prib often goes haywire online , solved by hitting the F4 F5 F6 buttons (whichever you have configured )   re sets the display to normal

No need to bother but if you believe the Moderator needs any background info or you want to attach your own replay it is sometimes worthwhile.

Well done David on producing an excellent report.  You've earned your moderator's badge  clap  Hopefully the rest of the season's races will be cleaner.
