Moderator's Report

I had less work with Montjuich than I had with Silverstone !
Thank you, to all great drivers of this serie ...and also thanks, maybe, to the Euro Final Spain-Italy ?

RED ZONE :
No incident at all.
Bernie, the poleman, spun but nobody else was impacted.
Fester was suddenly disconnected before turn 2 on the 1st lap.

SHIFT-R :
Only one Shift-R during all the race :
Michael Turner did a shift-R at 19'12, correctly followed by a stop and go... unfortunately he had a new and fatal incident at the hairpin, 15 seconds after his stop and go, and he retired.

INCIDENTS REPORT :
no incident reported !

Decided to watch the Euro final last night & have a few beers. Shame to have missed this race but I would not have been any fit state to join at the end of qualifying.
It is a great circuit, even if the run down into T1 is really tricky – must have been terrifying in a real F1 car!
I’ll be away for the next race – hopefully Rainier, Curtis & Locano will keep Black Night at the top of the team championship.

I arrived at Montjuich with a secret weapon, and high hopes of a win.  The Lotus was faster than the opposition, and I'd dialed it in to a winning number.

Surprised to be only 3rd on the grid, I was wondering how Bernie found a shortcut, amongst all the armco?  Rather than pondering, I took the lead out and took the lead away, at the 1st opportunity. Exiting the first hairy pin in 1st, I geared up for a win. Grin

Pulling a gap on lap 2, I must've pushed too hard, because I was rather unexpectedly pulled around backwards, by a clip round the inner apex.  It wasn't too painful, and I managed somehow, to escape scenes of conflagration while holding onto 3rd.  However, the unfettered win had suddenly become somewhat fettered! Angry

The dominance of the Lotus, soon saw me Hunting down Axel.  Sad to see his sacrificial spin, as it led to a lonely race up front.  David kept me honest, but it was smooth sailing and a lack of flailing, which saw me through to a 1st at the flag.

I suspect the foot will be on the other boot, when ye dastardly rivals jump into a Lotus later,  But it was great to start the season with a bang, rather than ending a race with one! laugh

Great win, Martin.I was unable to follow your Lotus
It's a pity Axel did not use shift -R, he could get a nice podium here.

After a few more offs and spins I managed to settle down and later pass Phil for 4th place ( which must have annoyed him as he seemed desperate to get the place back )
LOL not annoyed just keen to stay with you to find out why you were so bl*&dy fast!  Nice to see you take pole, pity you couldn't convert it to a win.  Having said that I'm delighted Martin grabbed top honours and secured 50 valuable points for Antipasti.  Brilliant drive Martin.
