NEW ADDITION Aston Martin DBR2 Download this

Track: Avus 1967 Download this

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk FIFT
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page
(4) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Hi Kosta and welcome. No need to register, just turn up on race night. I take it you can connect to the Altbierbude lobby?

Maybe, as a test, try to see this event https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=10213.msg185469#msg185469 being held on Monday but running on the lobby now.

I have discovered that the new Aston Martin DBR2 does not have the class GTC-65 in it's .CAR file. The cars will not show up on your car selection menu without this fix. You need to replace the Class line of text with this

classes="SIM_FULL, SIM_LM55, SIM_4SDBR2, SIM_TOURING, SIM_DAG3NOT, SIM_GTC65"

Copy and paste the entire line (beginning with classes and ending with ") and replace the existing classes line.

You can use Notepad to edit the .CAR file but you may have to tell Windows to assign Notepad to be the editor if asked.

You need to do this for all four cars. Each one has it's own .CAR file.

If your still unsure about what to do (or doing it) here are some I made earlier

Thanks Tony for the heads up - I already feared that it would be "only" the "Altbierbude"-version but we have to use and modifiy it as long as
it isn't published at NoGrip too.

-

Don't want to complicate this matter needlessly but nikbear posted another small bug correction concerning exhaust smoke of
the DBR2 over at evolution-modding, which of course doesn't affect the working of the mod - only for us purists  Grin :

"You have to alter the exhaust settings in the #5 #63 #102 Car files to match the ones in the #49 car file,or the exhaust smoke comes out the wrong side, just remove the minus - sign in front to match"

Thanks to nikbear.

Will examine this tonight  Smiley

I noticed something else odd/wrong with this mod while testing at Avus last night. The rear left tyre seems to get warmer than the other three tyres for no good reason.

 Cool

Another great sound - "correct" classes and the "exhaust smoke bug" has already been fixed.

So all we need is the nogrip DB2? Collision fix not necessary? but recommended.. The D-type fix zip file has no direction to where the file should go. I assume it should just be dropped in the Jaguar D-Type file? Thanks for your work Kurt and Tony Cool

edit: ok I tried that and when using either Jag I got a "no car present on server". Then took the collision file out and still got the error message. Then reinstalled the Jag with a fresh install with the same "no car present on server" Huh. I can join with any other car no problems. Is it still on my end? Or could the server be without the Jag causing the error? The only thing I've done since the last race is add the Scirocco addon Cool. I didn't see any possible conflicts there Undecided

Could be I've screwed up, but I won't be able to fix till tonight.  Sad

EDIT: Just had a quick look before I go to work. The Ferrari was missing but that's fixed now. Couldn't see anything wrong with the Jag tho. Can you try again and post here please?

When I get home tonight I will check whether I added the collision fix to the cars on the server.

It would be helpfull if others can tell me if they can see all of the cars or not.

BTW if the collision fix is anything like the Mercedes collision bug fix of some years back, it only needs to go on the server cars. However it won't hurt if individual drivers can install it as well.
