The 2012 World Cup is poised to get underway on July 10-14, with three days of practice followed by the first of three scheduled rounds of qualifying oval and road races on Saturday, July 14.   The 2012 World Cup features an exciting new format devised by a dedicated group of iRacing members.   All iRacers from all 37 international clubs are eligible to compete in qualifying rounds in July, October and January, with the top 21 clubs from the qualifying rounds advancing to the World Cup Tournament in mid-January. The top four clubs in World Cup Tournament will then move on to the World Cup Finals on January 19, 2013.

Round One sees the clubs competing in the Cadillac CTS-V at Mosport International Raceway and the Chevy Impala Class B at Chicagoland Speedway, with three races on tap for each discipline. Drivers will be seeded into one of three divisions based on iRatings, with a maximum number of 30 starters per split. The ten highest scoring drivers from each club will count towards their club’s total, with the seven highest scoring clubs advancing to the World Cup Tournament.

For complete details, see the 2012 World Cup Event Guide on the member site.
