Moderator's Report

Paul is obviously very excited at having the Porsche with its special Hiki Waza superglue tyres for this race and cannot contain his enthusiasm as he approaches Moss and prepares to unleash all that power down the straight.
He has not allowed for the inadequacies of other car/tyre combinations in this race and realises a little too late that although his Porsche will take the corner very quickly, that large lump of metal directly in front of his car will not!

Hristo and Axel make contact at T1 as Hristo emerges from the pits.

I have looked at this incident many times from all camera angles and cannot really see that either driver did anything wrong.

Hrsito emerges from the pits and keeps his car as close to the right hand side of the track as he can. Axel passes the pit exit well over to the left hand side and ensures that any car emerging has plenty of room.

Unfortunately for both drivers they arrive at the point where Axel wishes to turn in and take the racing line whilst they are both invisible to each other.
Although Hristo has accelerated out of the pits he is not at maximum acceleration into the corner, because he has to hold that tight inside line.
Axel is running at race speed and clearly thinks he has passed Hristo and can turn in to the apex even though he cannot see him. Contact only just occurs and a metre more gap and I think we would not be moderating this.
It is not until the very last moment that Hristo can see Axel cutting across in front of him and the first indication for Axel that something is wrong is when he feels contact and is spun around. The second bump from Hristo was I think totally unintended and accidental, although it did cause Axel to be left way behind as Hristo drove away.

I think this should be called a "racing incident" with no penalty given.
All drivers can learn from this incident and try to allow more space and time for cars that are in the huge blind spots of these GT's.

Sergio I always thought you were an alien driver but if you are still using a system with AGP graphics then I salute you as a super alien I Am Not Worthy I Am Not Worthy I Am Not Worthy

LOL Ronniepeterson...I'm not an alien at all, I only try to fill the gap with other faster guys with long training sessions, this is why when I'm back in the grid it is because I've not practiced enough. About my AGP Video Card...it is pretty good with a good CPU like my Athlon XP 3200+ while it has been insufficient with my previous Athlon XP 2400.
Ciao.

I'm sorry that I have not finished the moderation for the last 2 races, but real life has kept me VERY busy for the past 2 weeks. I am fortunate that we are in the mid season break and I can catch up over the next week.

The Brands Hatch moderation is 99.5% complete and should be posted soon, after a final check. Once that is done I will dive into Mosport and sort that too.
