Moderator's Report

This race we had no problems with the rolling start...

Server replay time: 0h02m29s

Fran follows Marco into the Jacky Ickxbocht where Maco runs wide.
There is no avoiding action by Fran.
"The victim had partially lost control before contact and consequently his line was unusual. The shunter was in full control."

Server replay time: 0h04m32s

Giovani follows Marco into Sterrenwacht corner where Marco slows down very early. Giovani just touches the rear of Marco who spins.
"The shunter had followed the victim for a lap or two before hand and the victim had changed his braking point. Both the victim and the shunter were in full control."

WELCOME to the UKGPL Season 23 - Porsche Super Cup - Race 3

We celebrate our 3rd season with the attractive PSC Team Championship and I hope we will have fair, clean and close racing.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The third race of this season is at the new Zolder 67 track in Belgium.

We have the Rolling ZONE for the start where a moderate speed of maximum ~ 90 mph (150 kmh) is required and no overtaking is allowed. (Read the registration thread!)

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Guidelines for rolling starts...

The car on pole will lead off the grid and maintain a steady pace for the "rolling zone" around 150kph
All drivers should form up in single file behind him leaving 3-4 car lengths between each car.
There is NO OVERTAKING on the "rolling zone".
It is the reponsibility of the lead car to ensure that all drivers are with him as he approaches the final "rolling zone" corner.
Racing and overtaking begin AFTER the exit of the last "rolling zone" corner.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Any driver who loses his position in the "rolling zone", by going off or through contact with another car ( regardless of fault) must rejoin at the back of the field.
Incidents on the "rolling zone" will be fully modded and anyone found to have caused another competitor to lose position through bad driving will be penalised appropriately.
Also, please make sure that you know which car you should be following on the "rolling zone", so that you do NOT get out of position.

There will be full moderation of lap one Red Zone and reported incidents for the rest of the race.

Please submit incident reports within a week after the race so that the moderators report may be out before the next race.
Full time team drivers have priority access to the server.
Driver lists can be found on the Porsche Super Cup championship standings page.
Please restrict your chat to a minimum!

Drivers with no team may join if there are spaces left after 21:05 UK time

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

So our advice has gone on deaf ears. No link to registration thread, no map + screenshots to see exactly where the rolling zone ends, not even a thought spared on simply doing a full rolling lap instead of partial. Do you really believe everyone has the time to learn corner names, to go in and out of GPL to check the zone, to search through the forum for the registration thread, and so on?

All those factors, all this unnecessary complication, make this division the opposite of attractive for me...

Map looks good to me and the registration thread link has been added. It just is not fair to say that no thought goes into it.

I commented on things that weren't done when the race announcement was posted earlier. And BTW, the image under the map is not loading up.

Fair enough but if Cookie had updated it don't you think you could give him the credit!

The second image is, I think a second copy of the map with a broken link. I'll leave Cookie to sort that out.

I give credit where it is due, but in this case he could give me credit as well for coming up with ideas that would improve and I don't demand that.

After all, we as drivers can only do that, speak out. If there's credit to be given, it has to go both ways, because there is no real authority here. Mods are nothing without drivers and drivers are nothing without mods. Since only mods can do any actual changes, it's a normal thing, a part of the work they volunteered to do. Otherwise it's like myself demanding to be given credit for turning the wheel as a driver, which is totally unnecessary and would be selfish.

I would give credit to a mod or a driver after a long period of time, based on what they did during that period, but not for such small and ordinary things that happen all the time.

You criticised him for an incorrect post which he was still editing. As a result, you could have modified your post to remove some of the criticisms or posted again to acknowledge the work.

I didn't say praise him, I said give him the credit he is due. Subtle difference.

I personally think this serie is way better and fought than all the others because it is based only on driver ability instead that on cars performances. The car is not very difficult to setup and any driver could spend the most of his time to drive well his car instead to became mad in setups that never get good enough.

I am afraid that I will probably be 'hor de Olympics'. Olympic party for my 11 year old girls may well stop me competing. Sorry boys.

Porsche + Zolder = 16 fps.

Grats to Van Berg for managing to enter the lenghty list of people who successfully ruined my race...

Replay is available.

I have added Natan to Team 7 as I believe he continues to guest for Fulvio.

See you all in September. Enjoy the break.

Header broke here, around the same time as Axel's camshaft did. Had a comfortable lead, but was relying on the Porsche being more reliable. I guess I'll look a bit more after the engine next time.
