Apologies for any contact with Axel early on and AA later on. Grats AA and Natan. I ran out of fuel on the final lap and Natan just sneaked by on the line! Thanks to the organisers. The 69 x mod works perfectly well on my system and I would welcome a championship series if possible next season. Thanks again guys.

Thanks Gareth and Cookie.  I eventually settled on 2.5 F and 2.5 R.  I could take Masta flat with that setup.

As for the race I was quite enjoying it.  I had a couple of good battles with David and Bernie until I went wide at La Source and then Bernie T-Boned me over the haybales.  After a shift-R everyone had left me far behind and since dinner was ready (yes we were eating late tonight) I had to quit anyway.

Unless I am mistaken part of the rationale for the race was to test the 60FPS.  For me it was a great success.  I had some really close battles with no sign of warp.  Car response was perfect even if my driving wasn't.

agree about the close racing and comments on quality , think some fine tuning with set ups required in my instance , again sorry about the shunt mate didnt realise it was you , much to concerned about my own braking to worry my head about spaghetti munchers in there flash cars  Grin

It should have been an easy win for me, as after Axel had some problems around lap 4 or 5, I was left with an healthy margin and quickly entered in safe engine mode. Maybe exceeded a bit, as I had a micro R.E.M. fase just entering Malmedy half way through the race, and ended up half perched on top of the hedge. Still in a sort of sleepy trance tried to extricate myself instead of resetting. When I finally woke up completely and started acting somehow rationally (for my standards.. Grin) by resetting and going for my S&G, Ronnie had passed me and I had to throw caution out of the window to make up the lost ground, hoping lady luck would keep my engine together. Which she did. Really fun, heated battle with Ronnie, who kept his cool and made things very difficult for me even if I was quite a bit faster. Tough luck for the fuel in the end Ronnie, you surely deserved better.

There was an incident at the start, I only saw a flicker of red and white in my mirrors while exiting the first turn, and noticed an annoyed comment in the chat space shortly after that. Unfortunately not once Juha appears in my mirrors previous to the accident, so, I left space just in case at turn entry and floored it up the hill, thinking nobody was there, as, if they were, they surely would have slotted behind at that stage. Not so..Now, fair enough, theres always something more you can do to be cautious, but still I cant get my head around why people try to enter side by side a corner like that, which is narrow and bending, with rather wide cars, at the start of a race which is all going to be about draft, and therefore fought to the very end if you dont make mistakes..boh? Huh

Anyway, thanks to Ronnie and Axel for some really fun racing. I had no probs with this 60fps patch myself. I suspect the real test will be some add on tracks though, as papy tracks are usually rock solid anyway, I think. I do have some problems with dropping fps at some tracks, so would think twice before having it implemented in the championship races..

Thanks for organising guys, see you at the next one.

You are compltly right, you should have slotted behind me as i was in front of you, if you did not see that you really should not drive so knackered. I must admit my one mistake is that i left room for you, next time i shall not make the same mistake and take my line, no doubt putting you in the wall, much as you did to me.

I see we have a new, bright acquisition to the league... Grin I didnt put you in the wall, as I said I didnt see you, as you never appear in my mirrors, and this is the start of a race when sound engines dont help you much locating people around you. I left space at turn entry simply out of caution. And the fact you see my car disappear beside you doesnt mean you were ahead, we entered the corner side by side, actually GPL gives me slightly ahead at turn in point. In any case, trying to pass someone in that corner at the first lap is not a clever move, as the slightest misunderstanding can easily end up in tears. Seems you didnt grasp this, even after it actually happened to you..hammer

As for your idiotic comments about putting me into the wall, should I have a crash with you in the future in which you seem to do it on purpose, I will refer to this post expecting you to be banned from the league. Incidentally, if you tried to squeeze me at the exit of eau rouge, you are most likely coming out with me, maybe you yourself should stop racing on whatever you have taken, which leaves you still on such a high the morning after.

Gareth, if you watch the replay you will see that you werent in front at turn in, stop the image and flick through the two cars and you will see GPL still gives me slightly ahead. I didnt see you beside me, nor in my mirrors, nor I could hear your engine as they were all around being the start of a race. So, I coulnt have slotted behind, nor I could have conceded, as I simply couldnt know a car was there, I am not slowing right down on the basis of the fact someone could be there...Since there was a chance for that though, I didnt take the normal line at turn entry. If someone has really got a good run at you, by this stage you see some bits of his car alongside you. As a matter of fact, I am again ahead when we start turning right up the hill. Then you start sliding wide (all by yourself), hit the armco and bounce back on my car. Of course, this is all just academic, as if I had known you were there, I would have obviously left you more space, to bounce back on a free spot of tarmac. In fact it was just a fortunate case I myself wasnt taken off by you in the process. What I have been trying to say, is that for moves like that to work out, it needs the two drivers to understand each other to perfection, so you were living on a prayer and could have just taken things more easily as there were 45 mins of racing to go..

As for the requested apologies, please dont be ridiculous. You started posting an agressive messages in response to my comments, so dont come back whinging when people reply with similar tones. Agreed on the moving on idea though  Grin.

Thanks Gareth  thumbup1, and sorry for the harsh comments above, not to be taken literally of course. Hope to make it to the Monza race tomorrow for some more racing (hopefully with better luck  Wink).

Just a few comments after having watched the replay of the race.

Sorry Axel. I'm not gonna make excuses about there was room for two etc. I went for a genuine pass down the inside at the time but on looking at the replay I was being pretty optimistic to expect you not to turn in on your your normal racing line. My fault, sorry I wrecked your race.

Apologies to Natan who went off track avoiding me as I slowed out of eau rouge at the start. I had to lift to avoid the incident ahead of me, sorry.

Some great racing with Art, who like Axel, was clearly faster than me. When I fortuitously passed Art I tried to cut out any silly mistakes and drive my own lines only, occasionally changing them in a vain attempt to slow the charging Lotus behind me. But even with his stop and go and excursion's off track he always had the measure of me. In fact, trying to stay in his slipstream probably accounted for me running on fumes for the last few corners to allow Natan to grab second on the line, well done.

I really like this mod and notwithstanding the issues with some tracks I really do hope a championship can be put together for next season, even if its a fun one!  I was also pleasantly surprised by the difference running at 60fps made. I know its stating the obvious but the race experience was much smoother and easier on my eyes. I have not been a supporter of this in the past but I have to say I was wrong.

Np Ray, I thought you would wait for the next straight  Wink

If there is no official slot left for the 69X we can do a inofficial BREASTS championship with them!?
