Moderator's Report

Well, Nothing after the Red Zone. Plenty in it though! Two resets but Pit Stops taken. A little caution in the Red Zone never hurts. A lack of it can!

Server replay time: 0h01m07s

Ronnie takes a polo and finds he doesn't like the taste. Spins into the path of the unfortunate Clutch and gets a whack from Fabio.

Server replay time: 0h01m10s

Gareth sees all the fun ahead and doesn't see why he shouldn't join in the fun...

Server replay time: 0h01m17s

After Fabio whacks Ronnie he spins off and trying to regain control he ends up spinning back onto the track. He should have tried a little harder to stay out of the way of cars behind. JonnyO is the unfortunate victim

Round five finds in the U S of A. Riverside is a tricky circuit that is now the home of a shopping mall Sad This is the latest release of this circuit and fixes the issues with previous releases.

The Intermediates will race for 23 laps on this challenging circuit!

In line with the new handicapping system, only the series leader is chassis restricted. The others are too distant to require it! BT7 shouldn't prove too much of a handicap with only one straight and lots of challenging turns.

Handicapped Driver(s)Allowed Chassis
RonniepetersonBT7

Please check the Season 23 pages for details regarding rules and the Intermediates Trophy pages in particular.

Qualifying may start before 9pm, if so, Reserve drivers should leave the server when 35 minutes of qualifying remains and only rejoin when 30 minutes of qualifying is left. This is to ensure that Full Time drivers get priority in joining.

Please restrict chat to pit messages if necessary, and this includes the end of the race, until all running drivers have completed the necessary laps.

The Intermediate Trophy races are run under Int Long rules and all incidents in the Lap 1 red zone will be moderated and reported incidents for the rest of the race, however the moderators reserve the right to review any incident. Drivers are reminded that they are limited to ONE Shift-R. The Red Zone will extend to the exit of Malmedy if your Moderator mixes up his posts - look below smart alecs!

Please ensure you are aware of the new in-series penalties for this season. Details are here. Drivers incurring a penalty will receive a PM informing them of this."

Please submit incident reports within a week after the race so that the moderators report may be out before the next race.

Sorry, I don't think I can make this one :-(  ,  People have birthdays at the most inconvenient times!  I'll be back for the next round.

Good luck all.

My BT11 & Honda pb's were about the same but I thought this was a track where 6 gears made it easier & the Honda is always an "interesting " Roll Eyes drive. An early incident down the field gave Clutch an S&G & me a 3 second lead at the end of lap 1 which built up at one time to over 5 secs. When the lead dropped I always seemed to be able to make an extra effort & put it back up again or maybe the chasers made a mistake, who knows. However in the last, say, about 7 laps Hendy & Ronnie started to close. Decided to make a big effort on lap 21 rarther than wait until they were right behind. Spun at the left hairpin (T6) & RP was through but I was saved by HN doing a sort of spin in sympathy Huh at the same bend. Managed to hold off Hendy to finish 2nd.
Really enjoyed this one & hope I learned something from it, like wait until they are ,say, less than 1 sec behind before making the effort at a fast lap. Well done Ronnie who is driving really quick this season & to Hendy who never gave up the chase. Commiserations to Clutch & anyone else who had hard luck.

Got a great start into P3 which rapidly became P2  due to Ronnies messdemeanor . Was settling in to a good race with Hendy and Dave but then the gremlins kicked in on my gear shifter which couldn't decide which gear it was in (or was it the drivers nerves twitching ) whatever,  the outcome was a sudden downchange which kicked the rear end out and headed me for the boondoks where I wasted time extracting the car and letting most of the field by including ronnie who had by now recovered his composture .
Lonely race after that and somehow couldnt summon the concentration and energy required to do fast lappery at this track especially as I was anticipating the gearshifts all the time , sometimes the thing didnt want to change down , others I got 2 downchanges instead of 1 , so I decided to trundle along at my own modest pace only to be awakened by Clutch who seemed to be in rather a hurry , after swopping places a few times he seemed to dissapear from my mirrors , spin maybe? ( hope it wasn't something I said did )

grats to them what finished on the steps , commiserations to the rest of us bystanders  Roll Eyes

Really enjoyed the race and was relieved to pip Norm and Hendy at the end. I was not surprised that Clutch was not in at the final throw as he and I think Fabio, suffered most from my excursion into the sand and back across the track at the start. While most avoided me Clutch had no chance. My off surprised me as much as anyone else as I was not overdoing it and keeping Norm at a safe distance. I just ended up being a passenger? However if the mods/or anyone else saw it differently and results change, I would have no complaints. Apologies to all concerned.

Regardless, it was a lot of fun. I practised for this one and quite liked the track. The BT7 was monster through the first section (apart from lap1!!!!) but less so everywhere else. I was just grateful to pick up a slipstream where I could to get back to the front runners. My method of passing was to keep the pressure on and hope for a small mistake as blasting past on the straights was not really an option.

Grats to everyone who raced as I thought the turn out (again?) was a bit of a disappointment. Hopefully everyone will be back for........ can the mods sought this one out as it says Clermont Ferrand 65 on the registration page and /Charade on the Series page???

Cheers Axel. So do I understand its Clermont Ferrand 65 and not Charade 70 we will use? Or have I got it wrong again!
