Moderator's Report

Pretty clean.

Server replay time: 0h01m01s

Goran does not see a fast starting Phil pull alongside and takes the racing line. They clash wheels but both are relatively unaffected.

No other Red Zone or reported incidents

First, I am very proud to be part of the super elite in mod66 championship Smiley

Then if I want to be serious, I can look to the championship standings after removing the 2 worst results :

EvilClive   190   -23   167
Al Heller   189   -23   166
Rainier   182   -53   129
Hristo    150   -0   150
Goran   130   -0   130
Ronnie   108   -0   108
Phil   93   -0   93

It's clear ! Who can imagine during only one second, that I am quicker than Hristo or Göran ?
I don't want the rule to be changed for season 23 but maybe we can think of it for next seasons !?

Which rule do you mean, Dave? The 2 worst results drop rule? I like it very much and I think it makes it more fair for everyone.

Yes something like that.
For example, 1 worst result dropped until mid-season and then 2.

If I'm not mistaken I don't think David is querying the best 8 out of 10 scores to count rule.  I'm sure most people agree that it makes it fairer because not everyone can manage 100% attendance, real life gets in the way of our GPL race nights sometimes.

I think what David is querying is the way the handicapping is calculated.  I highlighted it when we were discussing the F2s and the last round being at Hockenheim (see here).  Because David has scored more points overall he has to take a slower car but if the dropped scores is taken into account when determining who has to take a slower car then clearly he should have a faster car.

Possibly something to consider if we run a division with this type of handicapping in season 24.

On the subject of less than 100% attendance, today I brought my good lady wife home from hospital after a hip replacement op.

Its more than likely I will miss a few races over the next week or two as being just the two of us at home I will be spending time nursing the patient until she can get around unaided .

There are some duties that come before GPL Bernie. The mods have had a meeting and I think we can sanction your absence for this one.

Give your good lady all our best wishes for a quick recovery.

From the Historic Trophy Registration,

"For the two last races one and then two worst results are dropped before counting handicap points."

I am not sure that it would be a good thing to beginn dropping results in mid season because no one knows what will happen. I can see the problem and that you think you should be allowed a quicker car because you believe that you are slower but this handicap system does not handicap drivers but positions in the championsip. Besides, I can assure you that neither Hristo or me have put in DNS (did not score) results on purpose.

If you like to be cunning all you have to do to get out of the group I car for the next race is to "only" be 6Th in this race if we assume, that is, that Hristo wins  Grin

I think the main issue with this system is in the F2 championship, not here in the 66s. F2 with those 2 much much slower cars for the top drivers is really disturbing and IMO they should be removed completely for next season, or the handicap system be adjusted somehow. 66s don't have that much of a difference in terms of speed between the cars though.

Don't worry Dave - the handicap chassis won't be so much of a disadvantage at this track.

I've been in the handicap chassis for 13 out the last 15 races... helpsmilie (Just keeping the seat warm for Hristo)
