Moderator's Report

No reported incidents but one coming together and a couple of spins. Nothing too serious though.

Server replay time: 0h00m54s

Hendy moves left towards the racing line and can see nobody in his mirrors. Although his move is gradual he has not looked left and is not aware that Geoff is alongside him. Geoff does his best but Hendy has left him no room. Unfortunately for Hendy this is straighforwardly blatant and as it is in the Red Zone attracts a further place penalty.

It spoils a brilliant recovery drive.

The Intermediates Trophy comes back to Blighty and the spiritual home of the British Grand Prix - Silverstone. This is the classic layout (before they mucked it up) and the venue for the first F1 Grand Prix in 1950. A flowing circuit that is all about keeping the speed up through the corners but mind those kerbs. Get too greedy at Beckets or Abbey and you will end up facing the wrong way.

High speed and one fast line through the corners. Intermediates should love it.

In line with the new handicapping system, only the series leader is currently chassis restricted. Nobody else has enough points. BT7 might actually give everyone else a chance here...

Handicapped Driver(s)Allowed Chassis
RonniepetersonBT7

Please check the Season 23 pages for details regarding rules and the Intermediates Trophy pages in particular.

Qualifying may start before 9pm, if so, Reserve drivers should leave the server when 35 minutes of qualifying remains and only rejoin when 30 minutes of qualifying is left. This is to ensure that Full Time drivers get priority in joining.

Please restrict chat to pit messages if necessary, and this includes the end of the race, until all running drivers have completed the necessary laps.

The Intermediate Trophy races are run under Int Long rules and all incidents in the Lap 1 red zone will be moderated and reported incidents for the rest of the race, however the moderators reserve the right to review any incident. Drivers are reminded that they are limited to ONE Shift-R. The Red Zone will extend to the exit of Malmedy if your Moderator mixes up his posts - look below smart alecs!

Please ensure you are aware of the new in-series penalties for this season. Details are here. Drivers incurring a penalty will receive a PM informing them of this."

Please submit incident reports within a week after the race so that the moderators report may be out before the next race.

Always disappointing when IT issues scupper a race.

Was running 2nd / 3rd for 15 or so laps with Jason. Great racing and really enjoyed it. It would have gone to the line i reckon.

All of a sudden i started a lap and the game slowed to 18 FPS. I kept going and after 2 turns it went back up to the usual 36 FPS, but i suddenly was in 5th?? Anyway, decided to go all out and try and catch Ronnie to keep the Championship alive. Alas after a few laps i slid slightly wide on the start finish straight. That damaged my front suspension, though i didn't initially know it and as i struggled to gain control on the next corner i may have held up a couple of cars, apologies.

The corner after that i hit reset, but forgot to take by SnG on the following lap (taking it the lap after). I then rejoined following Bernie with about 6 laps to go. We were side by side down hanger straight and i had the line into the corner. The replay looks like warping, but Bernie slid wide, though managed to rejoin. After that, guilt got the better of me and i decided to retire as my mojo had gone. Ah well.

Well done to the podium, and thanks to Jason for a great evenings racing. Totally reliable, clean racing. Moments like that make me realise what a great game GPL is.  Wink

Thanks for the kind words Clutch, and I agree the racing there was utterly superb! My car seemed to have better traction than yours  but yours had a better turn-in, equalling things out. There was some real good moves from both of us and I reckon it would have made great TV viewing! I was sad to see your connection issue, one moment you were pushing me hard and the next gone!  Still, I'm delighted with second place on my first race in 3 ( or 4?) months!

Started in second. At the start I looked left and saw it clear. As I tried to merge it turns out that Heard was just barely behind me and his front tyres hit my back tyres as we braked into Copes. This flipped me and put me in last. Took a pit 2 laps later.

Hard climb up the field, got to battling Ronnie for 4th on the last lap. Contesting Club, side by side contact and a spin. I just barely managed to get out in front of him for the finish line. Might be a penalty for me since I was on the outside?

Exciting race none-the-less.

Grats podium.

looks like i lucked in again, managed to start from pole and the rest either crashing, in crap cars or slowing each other down by fighting for posision, i manage to keep it in the 33's and spent the whole race on my own trying not to make a mistake. despite this any thoughts of finishing well in the championship are out, 80 points behind with three to go (two of which i am usless at) Sad

cool race tho , thanks all. Smiley

No complaints from me Hendy. I chose the inside line in a vain attempt to make you go the long way round as my BT7 was defenceless in terms of straight line speed. I was never gonna give up the corner without at least trying and you had every right to go for it. We tangled and it happens sometimes. Well recovered and grats on the 4th spot. The way you chased me down, it was deserved as well.

Grats also to the podium. Gareth on a lonely but peerless win, to Jason on a great drive and Dave as well (particularly for the tow which made Hendys job even harder). Commiserations to Clutch who one second was ahead and the next second behind me, weird. Connection problems don't you just love them.

See you all at Zeltweg.

Ronnie passed me up to turn 2. Dave Rainer caught us up with the gap fluctuating. Umm? sounds familiar, sounds like Clermont all over again !. Ronnie's car disappeared in front of me & I thought he had disco'd again but then my screen went blank & I was disco'd for the first time in ages Sad. Think it was lap 4 or 5 & I was 4th at the time.
Well done the podium & see you at the next one.
