Guys - when do you believe that we should we run this - we have a week off for Half Term so we could run on that last Sunday or we could run it at Christmas.

Alternatively, we could make this an annual event at Easter.

What do you think. And any suggestions for tracks? Maybe a double header?

I know the track has a glitch somewhere but I how about Joe Shaw memorial warm up at Goodwood in the 1965 Mod this Sunday & then schedule something more organised during the Christmas break.
To even things up for all comers Novices can take the BT11 & Pros the BT7 (Inters have a choice of either).

I'll certainly make every effort to participate in Joe's memory.  He was a swell guy.

I keep an icon on my desktop that leads to a jpeg of his last Works season.  Just seeing it every now and then reminds me of him and I occasionally open it in rememberance.  You are missed, Joe.

I have no shame whatsoever in shedding a tear.

Like that idea Billy. Thanks.

Just my gut feel but,

Without wishing to sound morbid, should these races not be run as near as possible to the anniversary of Joe's sad death, if they are to act as a "memorial"?

I agree with Evil, let's keep it as a three race series at Easter each year.

I agree that the trophy should run once a year as a series but would an additional (non-trophy) Autumn memorial be appropriate.

Mentioning Joe each season would seem important to me.

I see Billy's point, but I would rather agree with Clive and Ross. An annual series to be run over the Easter break, over three races, and in the 67s cars, as thats the number of races that were left to be run in that last Works season that was curtailed by the news about Joe.

I agree with Evil as well. We could run the usual fun races between seasons and around Christmas/New Year though.

Sounds and feels appropriate. Gotta agree with Clive.

Seems we have a concensus about running running a 3 race mini-series in the Easter break.

Trust that no disprespect will be inferred but I will arrange a race at Goodwood on this coming Sunday. Post to follow.

I agree with running it at Easter, as H says, we generally have fun races at random times throughout the year and of course between seasons.

This is the first and thus far only online community that I have been a member of.  I am proud to be a part of such a compassionate community that genuinely cares about it's members.  Even though we are a virtual community, there's a lot of heart and soul on display.

Thank you to you all for continuing to keep Joe's memory alive and for all your kind words.

We are going to be at the Nurburgring at Easter and plan to place some of his ashes at the side of the track.

We would welcome suggestions as to best place on the circuit to do so, maybe somewhere that is the most challenging or exciting!

He is already in residence at Brands Hatch on the inside of Druids, a place he loved to spectate and take pictures as a young boy and I hope that later this year and beyond he will be at Goodwood, Silverstone, Donnington, Malory and Oulton.

On the 16th March he should be racing with me on-board his old Porsche 924 at Snetterton in the MSV Tack Day Trophy. I hope some of his talent may rub off on me. Smiley

Best regards

Malcolm

Flugplatz is challenging and it is a place where cars get airborne. Closer to the sky and away from the earth. It might be especially aproppriate place since youre doing it at Easter.
Good luck at Snetterton.
