Thanks for the link.  BTW, I crossed my fingers and tuned in to the ITV4 review tonight.  Shameful hype with little action in the first half, but it improved towards the end.

One slight problem - I've not noticed Motor Racing on TV turn fictional until now.  The racing action was speeded up by 20 or 30%!  This is common practice on U-tube, and probably only disgusts those of us who are into realism.  The hype has now spread to the TV screen.  Strange, because I thought the real thing was exciting enough already? Sad

I'm afraid that the link was heavily edited highlights of the racing anyway, but at least gave a flavour of ( part) of what goes on.

I AM GOING TO BANG A GONG HERE ABOUT GOODWOOD 2015!!

As some of you will know three of us shared a static caravan for the weekend about 10 minutes from the track this year. This worked out significantly cheaper than staying chez Goodwood.

I was fortunate enough to grab the last available caravan when I booked in March this year.

SO!!
If there are people interested in going next year and wish to stay in a caravan, complete with all cooking facilities, shower etc ( great if the weather turns bad) we apparently need to book BEFORE Christmas.

3 to a caravan seems to be the optimum for comfort and this year that worked out at about £70 per person to cover Fri,Sat,Sun nights.

A little early at the moment, but perhaps something to bear in mind??

Great post thanks

Watching that lot brings to mind the old adage " all the gear , no idea ! "

Lotus 33 owner Andy Middlehurst from my home town of St Helens ,  knew him and his dad who started off as a scrap car dealer , used to get bits off him for suping up the old A35's & Anglias

If you ( or anyone else) is interested in doing the Goodwood Revival for 2015 can I suggest that they post an interest here. It is great to actually meet GPL names in the flesh and share a drink or two ( honest guv, we only had a minimal amount of alcohol..... as far as I can remember Roll Eyes ) Oh, and by the way Bernie there was a food outlet specifically for pies!!!

As for myself, I intend to be there again and enjoy the spectacle 99.9% certain of that.

I think the way to do this if we are talking about hiring the static van option would be for each group of 3 to make their own booking.

I can post the details of the site here with contact phone numbers etc.

I caught notice on our calendar of events that today would have been Beefpie's 23rd birthday.

Raise a glass to our young friend lost to us far, far too soon.  We miss you, Joe.  RIP.

 Another glass raised here.

Looking forward to the Joe Shaw Trophy Series as it always generates some great racing, and sometimes it is almost as fast as Joe was!!

We might have to send a SWAT Team down to Devon to wrest the Trophy away from Andy L................

As we have some space in the calendar this year's Joe Shaw Trophy will be a slightly longer format that previous events. It will be staged over six rounds on Sundays & Tuesdays. starting on Sunday 9th, concluding on Tuesday 25th. We will race on six classic British tracks using the original67 mod; Snetterton, Brands Hatch, Donnington, Castle Coombe, Aintree & Goodwood (in that order if you want to practice). Goodwood does have a glitch somewhere in the track design but as the prestigious trophy is presented to the winner (if they attend) at the Goodwood Revival on September 11th -13th it seems a fitting place to finish.

The event is open to all comers. All tracks are short to medium length & in the interest of promoting close racing & reducing lapping incidents the following voluntary handicap system will apply.
Privateer standard - no handicap
Works standard - no Lotus or Eagle
Top runners in the Works (you know who you are) - Honda, Cooper or BRM.
Races will run on Pro settings for around 30 minutes. Usual qualifying arrangements.

Hi Billy

This all sound really great. Thank you again for keeping the memory of Joe so very alive Smiley

I am competing on 9th (August) at Loton Park and its likely we will be back late Sunday evening however if I can get things setup I would really like to try and join in at some point.

I've got GPL setup with GEM+ 2 and iGOR, just need to work out how it all works!

The Trophy is waiting for whoever is victorious Smiley

Malcolm, would be great if you could join us for a race ot two. There is usually a practice server or two in igor. Just check that you are set up to race on line & don't forget you need the 60 frames per second patch.
