Just a thought - but in the interests of close racing wouldn't it make sense to allow only novices to use the Mclaren M8F & Lola T260?

That's not a bad idea Al, but of no use until Novices show up!  I don't blame them for staying away, knowing their startline behaviour is to be put under the microscope.  Does anyone know of another online league, which does rolling starts for these?  Huh

Hi all
As a complete novice I did show up and following Mods request chose a car not chosen by others only to find almost everyone was using the Lola or M8D . I causing a couple of accidents for which I am extremely sorry but all I can say in my defense is that choosing a car not already taken, on the Porsche there is no left hand mirror and both accidents happened by cars trying to squeeze past on my blind side
Cheers

I had a quick look myself Boggy and thought it seemed odd so many were in the Lola or McLaren?

Notwithstanding a comment by Martin regarding the need to listen for cars around you, I have to say like the GTs the standard mirrors provided in the CanAm cars are useless for online racing and contact is inevitable.

Not sure of any league running Can Ams regularly anywhere. The rolling starts, if we use them, would be to try and avoid accidents in the first few corners. It would also be down to the moderator of the series as rolling starts would inevitably reduce the workload. There will be a poll about rolling starts but it can't be binding.

The best compromise would be to have rolling starts on tracks that require it and standing starts on the wide tracks but that would be very confusing within a series context.

BTW - These are FUN races only and nobody is under any scrutiny.

Was good while it lasted, as for everyone in Mc-D, I was in the F and i'm sure Rioni was as well despite what the results say I was in. I did ask if there was any car not accounted for as i did do a lap and guessed at a setup for each car just in case, didn't get an answer so i kept to my usual car.

I didn't practice with race fuel and the car is supprisingly different. In the first lap i almost rear ended Sergio three or four times and i'm sure Axel behind was enjoying my erratic driving and dodgy lines, so appologies for that. I lost it a few times and was back in 8th or so then crossed the line and immediatly was last and a lap behind everyone  Huh. Anyway I like Spa and Can-am so all good  Grin
Also setup says 3.1 gals a lap but it turns out i was using 2.4 so was way over fueled

The race results are just the way the export file is. It does not make a difference in any McL or Lola.

Yes those cars behave very different with high load of fuel. I took 145 litres with me.

A nice race for me,
unespected pole also if several laps I have had good sector times but I've made mistakes that ruined completely my lap times. At last I made a clean lap with a good lap time and that gave me the pole.
I started for the race keeping in mind that these beasts are difficult to manage with gas full load so I tried to be gentle on pedals with cold tires and I was surprised about Gareth's overtake in a place I would never used to overtake anyone because in that place usually all drivers close due to the apex. It was just fortune if we both didn't collide making a heap at Burnenville. Immediately after this event and in a few seconds, Gareth make a mistake at Malmedy hitting the armco on the left but remaining on the race line. Probably he broke something in his car and he left me the space to pass along the descent to Masta. From that point on I tried to keep focused trying to drive clean and I've seen from pribluda the remaining drivers have had some problems because the gap was slowly increasing.
I went to the finish line with still 3 gals of gas (12 liters) in my tank enough for a full lap more.

On reflection is was a stupid place to pass as Masta straight followed and you would have streamed me with or without my kiss on the barrier, i should have waited and applied the same technique. It seems that left alone i can do respectable lap times but have a lot to learn about racing in traffic, wich will hopefully come with experiance.

It seems I made the WR at Spa during this event but also if I've uploaded my times, they don't show up, why ?

Those WR times do not show imediately in WR "fastest laps", as they look at them first.
