All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (22 laps)

Track: Early Brands Hatch GP Circuit Download this

Cars allowed: Ford Mustang, Lotus Cortina, Austin Mini Cooper, Ford Falcon from here The Real GTL mod 1.0:
http://downloads.gamers-crib.com/Sim%20Racing/GTL/Mods/RealMod/RealMod10.exe or here http://www.gamefront.com/files/21168781/RealMod10_exe

and update (to ver 1.3): http://downloads.gamers-crib.com/Sim%20Racing/GTL/Mods/RealMod/RealMod13update.exe or here http://www.gamefront.com/files/21168219/RealMod13update_exe

It's best if you create a standalone GTL install (copy your GTL to a temp folder, rename it e.g. REAL GTL, then copy back to your usual directory. Path the install to the new REAL GTL you have just created).  Install ver 1.0 first then update with the ver 1.3 install. Run the sim and purchase the cars.
We will not be able to use any skin packs with this mod.

Time of Day Setting: 15:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk BSCC
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page

Special Notes: None

Are there any car restrictions later in the season based on the choice we make in this race?

No Syd, none. The only "restrictions" are the ones already shown in each race announcement for this series.

1:54 is my best so far, anybody else got a laptime so I can know if I'm in the right area?

My best is high 54s with race fuel in the tina. Haven't really explored the other cars, but I'm guessing a well driven tank will be hard to beat.

Managed to get the Falcon down to 1:54 now too, though am definitely more stable in the Tina obviously.

The Mrs seemed to hint that I could join at 8:30pm, even if the kids aren't asleep yet (though any married men reading this know, that the lord giveth & the lord can quickly/often take away... angel)

Brands is a fascinating track but I hate it.
I've never found a suitable setup and/or a
driveable line to master Paddock Hill Bend
in particular???

At the end of lap one I completely missed my
braking point and then already was 15 seconds behind.

After some more problems at Paddock Hill Bend I lost
motivation and quit.

CU next time

Good fun dicing with Legzy and Oliver. Oliver passed twice then spun under power onto the finish straight both times
2nd time I think he threw his wheel out of the window in disgust Sad

Two now mate, both just like their mum (read into that what you will Tongue)

Was chuffed I got to race, had to make all kinds of deals with the oldest for her to guarantee she wouldn't leave her room (extra story + biscuit + etc etc). Even got to see about 8 mins of qually, but managed to put it in the wall twice on both my timed laps, meaning I was back row of the grid anyway laugh
Falcon power blasted me off the start line & up to about 6th by T1. The had some great racing with phspok & Oliver, where it took me till about my third pass before I finally made it stick sweatdrop.

Great close racing which isn't easy to do in those tanks!

Congrats all, especially Team Oldie drivers angel

Great Race,
Qualified in a good position, and managed to get a decent start losing 1 position. Made a mistake on the first lap (as usual) and it put me into last position. Had a fantastic little battle with Bill (great side by side racing).  Smiley  Managed to get past Bill. Then I needed to catch up Tony. Caught up Tony and started to follow not being able to make a move because the Mini was so quick in the corners. Tony came out on top in the end after I had a spin, Grrr. Never managed to catch Tony back up so in the end I decided to settle with 7th.

Congratulations to Dad  Grin Wink I Am Not Worthy  Smiley

Thanks to Tony for putting yet again another fantastic race on!  Smiley

When you passed me for that second time Jules you had me. I just couldn't catch you, think my tyres were beginning to show their age. It was only that unfortunate spin that let me back in front. Nice driving tho.
