Wow, other than Mark who is Teflon coated Cool we have all had some bad luck in the first couple of races in this series. Very bad luck Tony,Syd and especially GT with only 2 laps to go Roll Eyes.  The good thing with that means we are all still close in points and if we just all go Cobra Kai on Mark next race we'll all be even again Wink. Sweep the leg!! Cheesy But seriously good job once again Mark and congrats on another first place. Also, congrats to Kurt for keeping it together for this brain fade prone track Smiley. My race was totally uneventful but fruitful as by taking the kind of slow Jag and getting a 2nd place finish that might just pay off late in the year as cars choice's get narrower and narrower Undecided. Time will tell.

I lost connection too. Shame, as I was leading the race.
Undecided  Thats a real shame Syd as I had thought I had put enough pressure on Goldtop to let you get away. I could not believe it when you disappeared.  Embarrassed

As Navin commented in the race "Boring" which contributed to my demise.  thumbdown

During practice kept finding new places to come off and screw up car or lap.  Qualifying set new PB.  Made a reasonable start in Race, end of lap 1 was 5th, I think, due to Legzy and Kurt having incidents.  New PB on first flying lap trying to stay ahead of Kurt, my car was faster and he caught me at the corners.    On Lap 3 outbraked myself and ran wide allowing Kurt through, repeated maneuver on the next bend allowing Legzy through.  hammer no After that they both went away from me.  I tried to amuse myself by trying for new PBs.  rockon After most I overcooked it somewhere and put in slow lap. Eventually after setting a new PB really screwed up and went through the sand bank at the hairpin and off into La La Land.  oops helpsmilie

Undecided I was going to suggest to Tony that we reinstate Goldtops win as he disconnected so close to the finish but now I read Syd had the same problem to so I guess it would be a tricky decision. It feels a bit of a hollow victory I have to say.  Embarrassed Undecided

As far as my race goes I chose this car as it is fast in a straight line and as I had no practice to refine a set up it would save me the Aston for a more technical race later in the season. However I was surprised how close I actually did get to Goldtop and Syd and managed to put some pressure on early in the race and to a degree in the late stages in between cock ups into the hairpin. :'(
God knows how my tyres survived because I was completely sideways through T1 and T2, aim at the bales going in knowing that when you get there the car will be in a power slide and miss the target......Then some how collected it all back up for T3 on  a good lap closing right up with Goldtop and at one point exciting side by side. The Aston just had a little more power though and could get away!!  Grin

I think car choice will be crucial this season and possibly an Alan Prost rather than an Ayrton Senna that will take the championship.  Wink

PS A note to myself. GET SOME PRACTICE BEFORE NEXT RACE.  Grin

I had done some practise here and I chose the Maserati because I knew it's straight line speed is phenominal and there were enough long straights at Sebring to use that power. Downside is it's a real handfull at anything vaguely resembling a turn unless your crawling along. Also by taking the Mazer I have left better cars for some of the forthcoming fixtures. Still gutted that I lost connection though.  cursing

One thing that was amusing during this race, was the amount of smoke coming off Bill's car every time he was in a braking zone! It was as if his car was on fire & despite being 200meters behind him, I was braking 90% blind again & again! The sim racing equivalent of Russian roulette eek Grin  (it really was quite amusing & something I've not seen before)

Lucky third place due to all the connection problems of the faster guys.
Boring track but I do like especially this version because it forgives nearly
all mistakes except at the hairpin  Cool.

Looking forward to the next events.

I have a cunning plan. Grin Can't get brake balance right  Roll Eyes - at least the car stops in straight line and it doesn't seem to affect tyre wear.  rockon

My philosophy regarding discoes (however annoying they might be at the time) is to just think of them as being unpredictible and random car failures. History is full of these (Mansell losing a wheelnut at Hungaroring immediately springs to mind).

And so much easier to accept when lives/livelihoods don't depend on them.

There is always a next week  Smiley Smiley Smiley
