Not much to do...

Phil just gets too close to Rainier and doesn't leave him self enough room to brake when David is cautious. Phil is the only one affected.

Due to router problems I can not set up the practice server today.

But I will set up the race server for a really long quali time instead. It will be up round 19.30 UK time.

Thanks for the notification -  I often make use of your prerace server, and again sometimes during the race, when my local bandwidth does not cast me adrift.Angry-

Managed to finish the race albeit a long way behind the winner.

Sorry to David Rainier for bumping his gearbox in the early stages.  I'm not sure if you were affected but I've reported it anyway.

Managed to keep Goran behind for a whole lap and then Ronnie kept me honest for the rest of the race.  I had 3 spins trying to stay ahead.  I think Ronnie had a few more otherwise the outcome might have been different Wink.

Despite having got very lucky with a setup that I developed during qually, this race did not go quite to plan Undecided

I chose the baby Eagle even though it was a group one car ( and I could have taken a group 2 car) because I have always liked its very stable handling, but I seemed to have got the gears and handling just right last night and it was quick as well  Grin

Raoni and Hristo set some very quick times to take the front row and I was surprised to get 3rd on the grid with a lap set on race fuel, so things looked promising for the race.
Raoni had his usual sluggish start and I stole 2nd spot behind Hristo into the first corner. I fully expected Hristo to be quicker than me and that Raoni would soon be up to speed and looking to pass me. They were both in the 2 litre Brab BRM ( my favourite car in the 66's...sigh!) which is a much quicker car than the Eagle IMHO. I felt I could possibly hold Raoni back for a while if I could get into the twisty sections still in 2nd place....but I missed an upshift out of T3 and Raoni pulled alongside as we went into T4. I stayed wide to leave room but still got a tap from raoni that knocked me out onto the grass. Just a racing incident NP. As I waited for the last car to pass so that I could rejoin Bernie decided that I had not suffered enough and biffed me on the nose!! the cad!!!
So I rejoined in last spot, fortunately in an undamaged car and slipped on the red goggles!!  eek
The next lap was a blur as I caught and passed several cars..thanks to those who allowed me to pass! until one lap later I could see Al and Andreas ahead. I was expecting some close racing if I was going to pass these cars but I think Andreas allowed me through and Al had a half spin and I took advantage to sneak through...2nd place. Hristo was well ahead by now so 2nd was probably the best I could hope for and i settled down to pull a safe lead over Al and survive the rest of the race, which seemed quite achievable. Roll Eyes

I have been trying to get to grips with my shifter recently and I think I am 90% OK, but last night the other 10% won !!  on the run down to the Adenauer(?) bridge I had a momentary screen stutter and managed to select the wrong gear on a downshift. As a result I clipped the bank and the car flipped....race over.

Grats to Hristo for the win and a stunning fastest lap!!!   and the podium boys + all survivors. Wink

Also grats to Al who looks like he has this championship in his pocket after some very consistant drives and points scoring.

Going into this race it appeared that any decent points finish would be enough to secure the championship - in other divisions it would probably be enough just to take the start to score, but since Historics uses the 50% minimum distance rule & this was at the Nurburgring... well, getting even a single point was certainly not going to be a foregone conclusion! Of course, I did consider not qualifying & cruising around at the back, but I'm pleased to report that the racer in me just couldn't resist going for it Wink Well, sort of going for it - having qualified 4th I drove a bit like a granny in the opening laps wheelchair but with Clive & Raoni hitting trouble within the first sector, I found myself swiftly elevated to 2nd. I knew from previous incidents at Nurby that I brake much earlier than others here, so I got a bit nervous having Andreas running so closely behind but he seemed to be patiently looking for a way past & anyway I soon provided it for him by running off the road myself at the end of sector 3 Tongue Having got a bit carried away with the first lap adrenalin, I reminded myself that my target was to get to the 50% point in one piece, so I allowed a hard-charging Clive to pass, made a conscious effort to start driving well within myself & of course then promptly had a huge moment at the flat-out dip at Adenauer Forst which very nearly ended my race!

Once I'd safely reached the midway point, I set about trying to catch Andreas & seemed to make steady progress but on the final lap, I tried too hard to carry more speed through the corner before the long straight & instead of a glorious slipstream pass ended up just eating the hedge... still I managed to extricate myself OK & was delighted to hold onto the final podium spot. Congrats to Andreas for a well-controlled drive & to Hristo for a dominant win out front. Really chuffed to take the title (pending moderation though I don't recall any incidents Wink ) - of course I'm not the quickest out there, but the scoring & handicap system that Goran has developed offers a different set of challenges to other divisions & deserves a lot of praise. (Well I would say that but anyway I'd hate to see it changed...)

completely forgot this series was on Tuesday nights and only realised when I fired up iGOR looking for a practise server for Nurby that the race was almost about to start ( 8 mins to go )  Roll Eyes made a last minute dive for the password and jumped into what I thought was the Lotus 33 Climax which I thought would be a good car around here , only to find I was in a heavily disguised BRM with no set up other than some hotlappers idea of how a race car should be .
After modifying the suspension perameters towards something more driveable I joined the grid with the idea to follow you lot as you took turns in pressing the self destruct button . A leisurly start as T1 was going to be where I made up at least 10 places followed closely by the usual mayhem at T2 . {thinks this is gonna be easy} All went to plan {well almost}  at T1 but arrival at T2 saw my road blocked { N.B. my road } by a wayward eagle ? which turns out was the ever so thoughtful Clive , did my best to exterminate him but could only manage a light tap on the nose which was more than enough to wreck the Lotus steering geo , the end result was me doing a paradidle and retiring the lotus to the scrap yard where I must say it was better suited than the race track  Roll Eyes

Or perhaps it was the crappy driver  Huh

Congrats to H on another blinding demo , your qually time is better by some than my 67 mod Lotus PB  and the FL time makes me want to throw up thinking about it  :'(

anyone wanna but a Logitech wheel and pedals for sale cheap  :'( :'( :'(

Grats to all other finishers and escpecially Evil for the come back drive ( dam you )  Grin

No problem, it was a very light rear end tap. No consequence for me.

In the 1st lap, I made a very idiotic loose of concentration. I saw something written on red on the top of my screen (something like "Raoni Frizzo disconnected" !) I read it and I did not look at the track ...I went off and had to quit Sad
